- well done to all involved, and a special thank you to his recent adopters who did the right thing, it must have been hard for them - but also must have been really satisfying to see his reaction to being reunited with his real dad. thank heavens for the power of the internet...

- Gosh, thanks CJ for explaining this complicated saga, how lucky that a chance conversation had this result, it just goes to show that you just can't ever give up looking for your missing dog. Well done again everyone, a lot of work must have been done by all concerned and once again Thank Goodness for DOGLOST!

- Oh, what a story! Well done to all involved.
- 2015-03-17 10:58 CJ - Police Liaison & SE Regional Coordinator
- Yes Linda T it was extremley complicated. Up to 2014 the owner had no idea that Buster had been put on doglost site.It was by a chance conversation with a friend of his about still searching for Buster that he was found on doglost.
after making contact with us- things then got moving.
The person who put the dog on site knew much more than they stated. There were many lies and false messages ( some changed by editing) given to try and cover up what had been said before.
It seems Buster was not taken to rescue in area stated. Unsure where he has been for past years ( well hidden?).
No one would have found out details until he was finally taken to a rescue not long ago and adopted by a family who then tried to change chip details to them selves. This was the point able to finally track him down and he was in fact not in an area where lead to believe but much closer to home!!
Once petlog made contact with these new owners they were given true owners details and made contact. Realising from dogs reaction that he was the true owner they gave him back to Jay.
Hence he is now finally in March 2015 reunited with his true owner. Hope this helps make sense of the whole saga! - 2015-03-17 10:16 Goldenfrodo

- What a story, I read this all when Buster first went missing and it seemed to be very complicated up to Jayne`s post on 24 April 2014 and then it all went quiet, so am amazed at this fantastic outcome and what a brilliant job done by all who have worked to make this happen. So, so pleased for Buster and his rightful owner, very good of the folk who adopted in good faith to put Buster first when they saw him with his Dad, true dog-lovers:-) Thought it was odd for a post to be edited so long after it was posted, I hope the guilty parties face some sort of punishment if the police are involved. A bit worrying about the microchip company and rescue centre not doing their job when the details were correct! Stay safe now, Buster:-)

- 2015-03-16 17:36 Unknown
- does this mean he is back with his rightful owner?
- 2015-03-16 17:35 Jayne - Founder Doglost.
- It is with great pleasure I am moving Buster to reunited! He is happily back home with his master...we at Doglost have been the victims of mis information from the person who originally registered him as missing...and a person who said they had rehomed him and informed owner....Which they had not...tx to true owner confiding in a friend of his...who googled missing red boxer 2 weeks ago...and was directed to doglost...and identified his dog...which because of mis information we had put to reunited...its been a long saga involving many phone calls each day..but result! NEVER GIVE UP!

- new owner of Buster has rung as she says she adopted the dog from a rescue centre that gave her the chip number when she adopted the dog...both the telephone numbers are now disconnected but have given new owners email so she can let them know buster is okay. Maybe when found 18 months ago the owners numbers were disconnected or maybe they signed him over to the rescue?
