Is this dog still missing? I saw a black/dark brown (it was dark out) lab, medium build, short hair, quite agile and quick, sniffing about in the gardens across the way from Whiston Hospital. Trying to find out if this will help anyone.

Hi AmesWhitey - another one for you to look at in Leigh again. Have to admit I'm not entirely sure whether it is black or dark chocolate - photo is very close up and the flash does make the coat appear brown, althought the feet and ears look more black. Sorry it's a bit vague, but wouldn't want you to miss her.

Hope one of them is her and she is home with you soon.

Such a longshot, and shown as not chipped, but there is a beautiful black lab girl reported as found in Dublin yesterday on the animal search site - believed to be have been stolen - there is a photo on the site if you want to take a look:

I have been in contact with Piper's owner, they are doing EVERYTHING they possibly can to find him, they have contacted all the right people.

I hope he is home very soon x

Sorry I've only just got home from work, yes pipers details are up to date we contacted the microchip company last week to tell them she's lost and make sure all numbers were right, will be putting more posters up soon. Just back in from work and sorry to see not Piper this time......we'll all keep looking out for her. Guess one possibility (esp with no sightings) is someone has taken her in and not got her chip checked....we need to keep her posters going as much as possible,they might just jog someones memory and maybe ring the Dog Warden again for advice?.....may need to inform Dog wardens in other nearby areas (eg Wigan) about Piper too. Fingers crossed her chip will bring her home but always worth checking all avenues just incase its missed :) xx
PS Just a thought...are Pipers chip details up to date?....am sure they are :)x

Been out around Clockface last night and this morning,had alook across the fields heading to widnes,have you contacted St Helens dog warden as he's really good,also have you contacted the vets on leach lane,kennels at union bank and also kennels along gorsey lane,i will do this if you want me to as i'm available all day,i've also started telling other dog walkers/owners Piper is missing,

I rang animal wardens earlier today who told me to contact Manchester dogs home as that was where she was sent, this girl was not micro-chipped and said to be around 10months old, thank you for the help. Still hoping Piper is going to be found

The one in LCDH millypod posted did look very like a Lab on the photo....however LCDH have kindly emailed me to say they have located the owner of that girl.

It was from home she went missing, possibly running after a rabbit or fox because we live near lots of fields. We had a call around 5 last night that a black lab was running round sherdley park, but we looked for over an hour and there was no sign of any black Labrador. Thank you so much for your concern.

Hi AmesWhitey - sorry to see that lovely Piper is missing. I'm not very local to you to help on the ground, but it's really important that you get lots of posters up around the area she has gone missing from....someone will have seen her, or taken her in...you have to let people know she is missng and that you are looking for her.

Has she gone missing from home, or whilst you were out on a walk? Does she know her own way back home from where she was lost? Have there been any sightings of her since she went missing? Any info you can give here will help us help you work out what to do next.

Have you contacted all local vets - preferably make sure they have a poster to display - get an ad in the lost and found section of the local paper. If they will run a lost dog story so much the better.

Did I mention - POSTERS ARE REALLY IMPORTANT! :)

Hope she's home with you soon.x

• Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
