I still think about Prince regularly wondering if there is any news about his previous scumbag owners. Don't think this picture will ever leave me. Hero the Rotweiller could so easily have been another Prince !!

I too often think about "Prince", and really hope too that this lkow life will be found, and receives the punishment he/she deserves; not just a "Slap on the wrist" Whoever you are, you are sub-human. At least we know that "Prince" is now at the bridge playing with all tghe other "Rainbow babies", and probably giving Kipo and co a "Run for their money" One day this low life will have to face the "Top Judge" (God), then my friend there will be no escape from justice. Just checking to see if there has been any developments in the case of poor "Prince". I hope the low life who put "Prince" through this terrible ordeal is quaking in his/her boots, knowing that a search is on to find the identity of this ikndividual. Whoever you are I hope you never find peace. Now if the Government made it compulsory to have all dogs put on a data base, and microchipped, would it not save many animals from going through what "Prince" suffered? This Government: Grrrrr.... We need JUSTICE FOR PRINCE really hope there is work going on behind the scenes. Reading remarks on Facebook it looks like the public are working really hard putting posters everywhere to get the scum who did this. Good Luck to them all xx

It always goes quiet when there's things going on behind the scenes. Mayhew were asking for it to be facebooked and twittered. It's been on my page for a bit now and I've arranged for someone to get it on Twitter tomorrow - my daughter has quite a few celebrity friends who are real animal lovers. Hayley Tamaddon being one and lots of the Dancing on Ice skaters - they are all animal orientated. Mayhew asked so I'm not doing anything to jeopardise if there is a case going on. I donated before he died but at least my donation will go to help other animals in distress xx

mathers22 I think you may be right. Perhaps someone is under suspicion, and that is why not much is being said at the moment, because of legal reasons. If someone is found responsible for this awful act of cruelty then the punishment should fit the crime; not just a "Slap on the wrist" Personally I feel like birching the scumbag who did this to Prince, but then reading all these comments, I would probably have to form a queue. There's an update on Mayhew Site about Prince - apparently he had a lot of underlying and was in pain they said he had suffered for a long time. They aren't saying anything much about what's happening about finding the low life morons that treated him that way but reading between the lines I would think that enquiries are going on and that's why they can't say anything at the moment. Makes it even harder knowing he had been suffering for a long time. No dog deserves that.....

I read on the Mayhew site for Prince that there would be an update tomorrow. By that I don't know if they mean how he died, in his sleep, or if they had to put him to sleep or if they were doing anything towards catching the scum that made his life hell. I hope they are trying to locate the scum because they can't be allowed to get away with it. There was more than one person that dumped him if they had to carry a mattress!!

He has (Like Lennox and Kip) touched all our hearts. mathers22 I was thinking the same,that this lowlife could own another dog, God forebid. Has the R.S.P.C.A. been informed? There must be someone in the area where Prince was found who had knowledge of an individual who owned a German Shepherd, that obviously didn`t look well, and suddenly the dog is no longer there? I am so hoping that this precious baby has a loving owner that was waiting for him in heaven, and now they are reunited. He has had a life somewhere before this, and reached a good age so I am really, really hoping this was not his whole life like this. And, whether he did or didn't, what I do know is that he has the love of all of us and those at Mayhew forever, and he was surrounded by that love when he took up his wings. As for those inhumans that did this, you know what I think will happen to them! One day they will face their punishment and there will be no escape - in a very hot place. God bless you sweetheart, you can soar high on your wings knowing you are so loved, always. xxx

I feel so strong about this I just had to post again. My punishment for the evil person/s responsible for this appalling act of cruelty would be to lock them up in a cell, fed only on bread and water, and without toilet facilities, and see how they like it. This is just awful...so very upsetting...my god there is some dreadful people on this planet...feel so helpless sometimes on these situations...the thing that disturbs me the most with things like this is if they can do this to the dog when it is old and unwell whatever sort of dreadful life had it lived with the people responsible for dumping it......

The other GSD found number 43819 was very lucky not to have gone the same way as poor Prince think she was found in the nick of time by the looks of it. Unbelievable!!

This is so heartbreaking. I am so glad that he passed in warmth and comfort with caring people around him. I hope the owners/perpertrators will rot in hell when their turn comes. Go play at the bridge Prince. No one can harm you now.

In respect of Princes story that so obviously went viral on facebook, and has raised much needed funds for Mayhew, maybe somebody could start up a animal charity of the week through facebook and choose a different shelter / animal based charity each week it could be done in Princes memory, Just a thought....
Im quite a shy person so its just an idea but if somebody maybe wanted to give it a try (you never know) xxx

I'm absolutely devastated that he was allowed to get into such a state where were all the human beings when he needed them!! Makes me so angry he only got recognition and kindness when it was too late. RIP PRINCE xx

This breaks my heart and I am just so pleased this lovely boy is now in the vets being treated and cared for. I will be in touch to make a donation towards his care. So glad he is in good hands now, the Mayhew do great work! I found a rough collie in a similar state (in the same area too) some years ago, he's been wheeled to a park on a pushchair frame and left.....thought he was a bundle of rags to begin with, then thought he was dead but he started to whimper. Unfortunately he had to be pts but at least he was out of pain. People who treat animals like this make my blood boil.
