- Thanks Jayne- we have now spoken.
The person who had taken him in had followed the correct procedures with informing the dog warden, but he was found completely out of area.
Seems like he was stolen and taken out of area.

- Delighted to report that this lovely boy has been reunited with his owners.
he had been stolen 3 weeks ago from about half a mile away and had a different collar on.
He must have managed to escape and very luckily was found and registered.
Well done to the finder who made sure that he was safe and postered the area. From the posters he was recognised by someone who had seen him being advertised as missing and so was matched up!
His owners were overjoyed, as was he!!
