Tiga is just simply amazing and placed us in the right location yesterday, and then were just got very lucky. The posters only started to go up Monday but we did do vast numbers of posters and leaflets in just 2 days to generate information - we had a sighting yesterday at the derelict shop at lunchtime and then again this morning. We went straight up there and had a look around and couldn't see anything in the large but very overgrown back garden so were just about to leave. Before we left we were putting up more posters on the derelict shop when staff from the MOT centre opposite came over to say great news you have caught the dog (I was standing with my own black greyhound) - when I said we hadn't caught him, different dog, they started to explain he has been in the overgrown garden right at the back all morning (it was so overgrown you couldnt see him or get to him) - they had been watching him and knew we had been contacted. So we secured the area and one of our volunteers crawled through the brambles to get him and carried him to the waiting car. Morale of the tale - poster, poster and poster again if you want the dog back! If you dont tell people your dog is lost they cant tell you they have seen him. He was found around the corner from where he ran off in the park last Friday and we had no sightings from Friday night to Tuesday when the information started to filter through to people. He is one very lucky dog as he has spent the whole time he was missing crossing the very busy A20. Tedzer is absolutely fine after his ordeal and is now resting with one of our KGR volunteers until he can travel back up to Norfolk. We on the other hand are all shattered but very very happy. Tedzer is an lovely boy and was wagging his tail on the way back in the car totally unaware of the chaos he has caused.

So pleased Tedzer was been found safe and well, I arrived at the locations shortly after he had been found and we were all extremely happy and relieved. Im sure the details wiil be posted shortly.

Tedzer has been found safe and well. A massive thank you to everyone involved in the search for him. A special thanks must go to Kent Greyhound Rescue and to Jenny and the amazing Tiga, without them we would never have got him.

Have just spoken with Brian at the kennels, Sittingbourne Retired Greyhound Trust. Really helpful. Am sending him and his RGT colleagues email poster links now. Brian is at the Track tomorrow night and will get posters up, will help spread the word all he can. He asks if anyone has Tedzers microchip number could they give him a call so he can make some more enquiries. tel 01227722847. Thanks. Good luck everyone.

Hi, Sadly I am in not local to area, so wish I could help more. Apologies if this has already been done, I have just spoken with Sittingbourne Greyhound Stadium, ME103SB, 01795475547. Spoke to a helpful lady who has taken details of Doglost to share. She suggests a call be made tomorrow after 1pm to speak with the manager Sam Mabbett. There is racing Thurs, Frid & Sat night, am told this is the closest track to ME19. Would be great if they could get posters up at entrance, around venue, passed to track vet/trainers etc. There maybe an RGT contact there? I will e-mail them a poster link also. Stay safe Tedzer.

We had 2 sightings of Tedzer yesterday - the first sigthings since Friday night. The first was at the boarded up shop opposite Morrisons at Larkfield on the A20 around 1pm and the 2nd at Nat West Bank further down the A20 (and on other side of road) shortly afterwards - he then went down into Ditton. We are now concentrating our search and poster/leaflet campaign on the otherside of the A20 from B&Q down as far as Papas chip shop (both on A20) down through Ditton, over to East Malling and back up the road from East Malling that comes out opposite B&Q. Tiga has tracked him moving around the streets in between Ditton especially behind the Kia garage but also along the A20 to B&Q and then down to East Malling. But we also think he is going across fields from Ditton towards Maidstone Hospital and also possibly still crossing the A20 and going down Bell Lane, next to A&D Fish Shop where he was spotted on Friday. Please contact us if you can help.
Lurcher74
We are in desperate need of helpers to distribute leaflets and posters, if you are in the Ditton area please call Julie of Kent Greyhound Rescue on 07542 795786. Tedzer needs you! Many thanks. Kerry Greyhounds UK.Last edited: 2012-10-31 01:15:59 by Lurcher74

If any one is close to Ditton would suggest a few in that area- Nursery road areas would be a good idea .Have spoekn to KCC community wardens who are aware and keeping a look out also taking posters around.
Delfin
We are out today putting leaflets in all of the houses along the route Tiga followed on Friday (which is A20 B&Q to A&D Chip Shop, All of New Hythe Lane from Morrisons right up to Train Station - we have already done Bell lane) plus the whole of the foster mums estate. If anyone can help the next plan is to drop posters into the factories/units etc on the industrial estate - we are still desperately short of helpers and would be very grateful for any help, even if it just for an hour.
Tiga
Sorry Owl, I wasn't clear enough, the chip shop was on the A20 at the end of the road leading down to the Reed Paper Mills industrial estate. Tiga will go out again tomorrow to see if he can pick up on any more areas.
Delfin
The sightings have all been from Friday. Although we now have a great insight into where he went to target the posters through doors tomorrow. Thank you Flossie for the info, that's great and we can concentrate on other areas tomorrow. We need to put posters through a lot of doors tomorrow so if anyone can help please let us know.
DogLostOwl
JB tells me there was a sighting near the chip shop by the Reed Paper Mills industrial estate, not sure when.
Flossie
I printed about 30 DL posters and took into various shops including WM club, Tesco 3 coffee shops, Abbotsley vets, couple of hairdressers. Put a couple up in the carpark and handed them out to people I accosted in West Malling High Street. sadly it was starting to rain very heavily and I did not have any plastic wallets. Not sure when I can get out again, but have collected more posters.
Delfin
The volunteers from Kent Greyhound Rescue have been out today putting up posters and distributing leaflets to a lot of the homes & offices around where he was sighted on Friday - no news yet. If anyone else has been out today/yesterday or is planning on going tomorrow can they post to let us know where they were/are planning to be so we know which areas are covered. Dog at Viking Oak wasn't Tedzer - we popped in to check. There are still lots of areas where the posters need to be put up - most have only gone up in the last 24 hours, but as this is such a large area to cover we still have a lot more to put up.
Goldenfrodo
Crossposted to RHU forum. Lots of members on there looking out for him.
Come on lovely boy, let people help you get back home. Stay safe until you are found xx
Lilybear
Breaks my heart to hear of a greyhound missing. I wish you all the very best of luck with your search and pray Tedzer is soon home safe. Am thinking of you.Last edited: 2012-10-28 22:46:17 by Lilybear

Come on Tedzer, show yourself x
Tiga
Been out for nearly 4 hours and picked up some good scents, so will continue tomorrow. Lots of postering to be done tomorrow. I expect Ted decided to lye low when the fireworks started.

Go for it Tiga....
DogLostOwl
Just had a call from JB. Tiga got Tedzer's scent from the soft toy and is forging ahead, he tracked to a place where there was a sighting and carried on.
Lurcher74
The fosterer does have a soft toy that Tedzer has been playing with so has put that aside for Tiga. Any idea when Tiga is likely to arrive?
DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
Good luck Tiga...
Tiga
Not far from me, I wlll take Tiga out tracking this afternoon but unfortunately the family fostering him had just washed all bedding.
