Oh noooo! This has really upset me. God bless you precious Pip, safe now and free of fear and harm. I so so very sorry. I truly believe that when it is their time, God takes his special ones quickly without pain and He will take good care of Pip until his owners are with him once more. I also believe that Pip will be watching over them, trying to tell them he is okay and always with them, forever. God bless sweetest Pip and his loved ones. In time, may your hearts know peace. xLast edited: 2012-11-03 12:01:25 by Kimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders

I am so sorry to read this about Pip. My prayers and condolences are with his owners. Night, night sweet Pip, sleep tight, and play with all the other "Rainbow babies" at the bridge; God will be watching over you, until you are reunited with your family one day. Sending your owners lots of ((((HUGS)))) for their tragic loss. RIP+ Pip Run free. God Blessx

This is just the saddest news. Sleep in peace dear Pip and dream of bunnies.
From Lurchers and long dogs by E.G. Walsh

On your grave beneath the chestnut bough
Today no fragrance falls nor summer air
Only a Masters love who laid you there
Perchance may warm the air 'neath which you drowse
in dreams from which no meal times will rouse
Unwakeable, though close the rat may dare,
Deaf, though the rabbit thump in playful scare,
Silent, though twenty foxes screech their vows
And yet mayhap, some night when shadows pass,
And from the fir the brown owl hoots on high
That should one whistle 'neath a favouring star
Your shade shall canter over the grass
Questing for him you loved in days gone by
Ere death the dog thief , carried you afar

Emailed all Vet practices in the vicinity, leaflet/poster Jordans Mill and nearby bungalows, Scroupts farm shop, G & M Growers and Cow Lane. Spent quite a while alongside Cow Lane, a scrubby area with loads of cover. No sign. Will go back later and poster both industrial areas.

Hi to be able to get hold of a dog trap the central beds dog warden would need to be contacted but they will only do this if the dog has been consistantly spotted in a certain area. Cheers Paula

Pip seems to be staying in the same area, however none of the searchers have seen him as yet. Unfortunately he is also next to a train line and the A1 and i am worried that he may run onto them if scared. We would really like him safe before the fireworks start.

Does anyone have a live trap that we can borrow please? Or is there anyone with more experience of searching for a dog that can help please?
Mike
I left a number with the travellor site and they are going to ring me. I have three possible sitings. One yesterday afternoon at 4 running on the Langford Road running towards Langford. One (but he said a black and white whippet) going up the path before the shops in Langford towards the field (I went up there but could not see anything) and another at 2.30 this morning on the Langford Road near the farm shop. We went to the farm shop at 2.30 this morning but could not see him and I went back just now. I told the football club as well who are keeping an eye out and have my number.

Along the Biggleswade/Langford Road is a small site with mobile homes/caravans on it. Its on the same side of the road as the Rugby Club. They have at least 4 dogs there (a Chihuahua, a small Dachshund and what looks to be two Jack Russells). It might be worth asking whoever the occupiers are if they have seen Pip.

Checked Albone Way, Eldon Way industrial areas, left poster with one company. Left posters with rugby club, as Paula said, the players are training this evening. Poster left with Maurices taxis, Coutts Vets and Jordans (Ryvita). Drove/walked around Brunel Drive, postered by childrens' play area.

Thank you Paula...

I have alerted the steward at Biggleswade rugby club and some of the players as they are training tonight as the club is very near to the tracks and dogs are quite often attracted to the open space. The grounds man who is usually there very early in the mornings has also been alerted. fingers crossed x

Just had a call from a Gentleman who has said that he saw Pip running towards Biggleswade at 3pm. Apparently he was on the Langford- Biggleswade road and just going under the A1 bridge. The man turned his car round to go and get him but he had gone.
