After reporting to the police and everyones help in reposting it looks like we have located Dolly, Fingers crossed xxx we are meeting a gentleman tomorrow to collect her.We will update as soon as she is safely home.Thankyou to all who have helped and your generousity and kindness, especially Owl and Wispa whom had a pretty harsh trek through farm and woodland in an attempt to find her.
DogLostOwl
Have advised owners to report this as a crime, as whatever the motive it is theft by finding.

Sorry I live too far away to be of help on the ground but am sharing her poster as much as possible. I have emailed poster to a few vets in surrounding area (sorry couldnt find email for Peak Vet), kennels and a dogwalking/sitting service called Petpals in Alfreton.
Hope lovely Dolly is found very soon xx

If someone has driven to Macarthur Glen via Riber, I would imagine it's going to be someone fairly local. Has anyone made the vets at Starkholmes (Peak Veterinary) aware in case someone takes her in to get checked over?
DogLostOwl
Huge thanks to everyone who has been postering at Macarthur Glen xx

Thanks everyone. Wispa and I have been tracking at the farm and think we have pieced together the beginning of the story. The trail led from the farm into fields behind and then up into private woods also belonging to the farm. I was very surprised to be following a path into thick cover as I thought Dolly must have gone up to the road and been picked up. There was a public footpath going through fields just over the other side of the boundary fence but no way through the fence, until Wispa dived into bracken and showed us a tunnel under the fence dug by badgers or foxes. There was no way through for us, so we returned with Wispa's nose pointed to air scent from over the fence. Then at the farm Wispa led us out on to the main road and down a small road leading to Riber and eventually to Alfreton. She took us to where the footpath came out and showed us where Dolly had been. There was quite a bit of scent around there and then some air scent going down the road in direction of Riber. It seems likely that Dolly followed the public footpath back in the direction of her farm not realising it would veer off and come out somewhere unfamiliar. It looks as if someone drove past, saw her, pulled up and went back to pick her up and carry her to their car, which would explain why the ground scent went no further but there was still air scent. Dolly would never go to a stranger but if she was chilled and exhausted they may have been able to pick her up. Dolly was last seen at the farm at 7 pm and the collar was picked up at Macarthur Glen at 8 pm. It is not necessarily connected with the shih tzu which was picked up. I hope to find out tomorrow exactly where the collar was found. What concerns me is that whoever picked Dolly up and took her collar off may think because she was tired and bedraggled and will have dropped weight after having pups that she had been dumped or had not come from a good home. This is not the case, she is much loved and pampered and her family are very upset. She was still feeding the pups a bit, but the smallest could really do with having her mum there, and is being given extra feeds with a syringe.

Thanks for your help guys.

McDonalds near Macarthur Glen are putting up a poster this morning. I've also put up a poster in Alfreton park, where all the dog walkers park their cars. I've been to Alfreton vets on King Street. They haven't had any dogs handed in, but are now aware and are putting up a poster. I went to Tescos, who apparently don't have anywhere to put up the poster (grrr), but have put it upstairs in their staff room.

I had a drive round the area on my way home from work tonight, but Macarthur Glen had shut just before I got there. There's a Macdonald's nearby, so I'll go there with a poster on my way to work tomorrow.

If anyone is able to search around the Macarthur Glen retail park in case Dolly was dumped along with the shih tzu which the lady found, please do!

OK, I actually live in Alfreton, so I'll put up some posters when I get home from work this evening! I'll also see if I can get some put up at Macarthur Glen.

Dolly went missing from a farm near Matlock, but her collar has been found near Macarthur Glen shopping outlet near Alfreton by a lady who picked up a wandering shih tzu male there. Seeing the collar nearby she assumed it belonged to the shih tzu and called the number on it, and it was Dolly's collar. So we need to spread the word round Alfreton as well as Matlock.

I have several friends in the DE4 area so have let them know. Can we have some more specific information about where this little one was lost? Thanks xx
