We seem to have a sighting. Owner has updated the poster part. Waiting for reply from owner now.

Oh Carolsdogs, yes! I am not sure if owner understands to post in the blog part? We have no idea of the date of that amendment either. I didn't even look there! Well done! Am contacting again now. x

Wer'e still not being told where she went missing from though , or if she has been found , as the poster makes it sound like they know where she is now , all a bit strange really ?

Thank you, Spangles. I have texted owner, but no response yet. We do need more info on how Dot went missing. Will update as soon as we hear.

I've had a look at the photo's side by side and I would say 45204 has more white around the nose, it extends further up her face than Dots, also if you look at Dot, what would be the left side of her nose is black and around her lip, 45204 is white, but have to Say Tara H, you have to compare them side by side for quite a long time as initially they look very alike.....anymore info on how she went missing, very active area :-(

Wow! At least we know one staffie is safely home, now hopefully it's Dot's turn. I have looked at the found dog Tara's post below. It does look like more white on the nose line, but it is hard to tell as Dot's photo is not so bright. Can others take a look and see? Thank you. x

Thank you Basildon DW for posting about the Staffie I saw on Monday, shame it wasn't Dot but such great news that this dog stayed safe & was reunited with his owner :) - I so hope Dot is found soon too...

We have not had Dot come through our Kennels. Squib have you tried the neighbouring councils? Rochford/Castle Point and Southend all use the same kennels as me but call Chelmsford 01245 606800 Wallace kennels 01277 821032 Brentwood council 01277 312504 Thurrock 01375 652955.
Paula we managed to get that Staffie and he was reunited with his owner thankfully in one piece!Last edited: 2012-11-15 17:07:53 by Basildon DW

A long shot but have seen this one 45204 , in the South East area. I know it states brindle, but sometimes people describe the colours differently. Also the microchip may have moved, as they sometimes do. You can not see a full photo of Dot either. Always worth investigating. Good luck

I really wish people would give more details when they put lost dogs on here though , especially when it's been a few days since they went missing ); i get quite upset wondering where they can be or whats happened to them , it's so sad not knowing ( i think she looks more Lab x border collie too )Last edited: 2012-11-14 22:23:41 by carolsdogs

Oh, she is a lovely girl. Could be Collie x? Lab? If she's a Collie they are very clever at surviving in the wild and Labs eat everything so okay there too.
Hopefully if owners tick off all the things we advise, we should have something to go on. Going to see if we can find out how she disappeared.

If you can let me know what area of Wickford I can put on the details of the Neighbourhood Policing Team, Wickford is broken down into areas so road name would be useful...Sharing of FB x

I saw what looked to be a dark brown Staffie on Monday 12th Nov, it was around 9:30am, I only glimpsed a side view of the dog, therefore I didn’t see any white markings, I was driving west bound on the A127, the Staffie type dog was sniffing along the hedgerow, it was after the Altons Garden centre but before the A132 turnoff – I pulled off as soon as I could & reported this to the police, not sure if this is connected but thought it worth mentioning, hope it helps.

Sorry to see that DOT is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (45026)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
