From Cozzie's owners. So happy to have him back. Vet can't find anything seriously wrong with his legs and we are hoping they will recover as he gains strength. Huge thank you to the many people that helped with searching and other tasks, everyone has been just great. We couldn't have done it without you.

Fantastic news about little Cozzie. I got a text from his owners this morning to say he had been found!!!! I had spent another hour or so at Poulter Park before the text and was getting seriously worried about him. Such great news, happy times for Cozzie and his family xxx

Yes, he is home. Some council maintenance workers picked him up this morning as he sat at the roadside and handed him in to the Chesterfield dog warden who scanned him. He had travelled several miles back from Poulter country park and was not far from home. His hind legs have gone weak and he has a vet appointment this afternoon.

Please can anyone involved in searching/postering for Cozzie just hold fire for the moment or check with owners first. We may have some good news, but am awaiting confirmation.

Glad you are helping, Nigel and Cathy, your experience is most welcome.

Morning. Nigel met Cozzies owner on Friday just after Owl and Wispa had left, hehad to leave at that point but went back later until it got dark withput our dogs? We were in the park yesterday with our 2 Spinone and I rang Cozzies owner who told me about the sightings in the park. We stayed for around 2 hours and walked to the the railway station and village beyond. We also walked in the wooded area across the road from the park. We saw nothing. It may be worth putting up posters on the edge of the village nearest to the station for anyone walking in from that end as we met people who did not know he was missing. Nigel is there again now and will contact the owners if he sees him. I appreciate he will not to come to us with large dogs but we are keeping our eyes open and are hopeful he will pop out at some point. Come on little man xx

A lot of postering has been done for this one already, by owners and Horsewatch people. Arrived at Poulter today to see posters had appeared everywhere. My dog did a session on 7th tracking him and followed the trail from home up to Bolsover then through to Oxshott Lane where we met a bus driver who had seen him earlier on the Clowne to Mansfield Road. Owners spoke to all the farms along there which is how Horsewatch became involved, and it was their networking which brought the Poulter sightings. We got a fresh scent immediately which took us in a circuit all the way round the perimeter of Poulter and included a couple of roads which looped back to Poulter at the station. We ended up back at the car park off Whaley Lane where he had first been seen. There was a sighting while we were out there, between the station and the water tower. I suspect he was in turn following us as he would know his mum was with me. He is not likely to come near while we have Wispa with us, so went home as otherwise we could have been going round the park all day and never getting closer while he watched us from cover. Dog warden was out in the park as well. Perhaps the weekend will bring more sightings as more people will be out in the park.Last edited: 2012-11-09 23:44:11 by Owl
