- This is dreadful news. My heart goes out to owners. There are no answers to many awful things in this life, but, I do truly believe that those taken like this are really very special beings. So special, that they have already earnt their wings. A life loved is never lost. Roxy will always be taking care of her loved ones from above until they are all together again, this time, they will never part again. In time, may her owners know peace. God bless. xxx

- Am so sorry to hear this, presumably it was a RTA as it is so incredibly busy round there with roads converging in all directions and huge volume of traffic. What an awful shame, poor little girl. So very sorry.

- So sad to report that Roxy has passed over to Rainbow Bridge. She was found this morning. So sad that despite all our best efforts yesterday we didn't manage to find her in time. It looks like she was on her way back to where she was lost from but didn't quite make it. Sweet dreams little girl. Xxx

- Hi Gaynor, I think Sarah has informed City Dogs & Animal lifeline already. I did speak to quite a lot of students and office workers this afternoon but hopefully a few posters may help. As for Signal Radio, don't get me started!!!! Called in today 20 mins after she had been spotted minutes away from them but they refused point blank to even mention it on the radio. Was told that they "don't do lost dogs". Grrrrrr. I think Radio Stoke are a little more listener friendly. :-)

- Have sent Roxy's poster to friend working in offices just a few hundred yards from Swift House and asked her to circulate.
- 2012-11-12 23:10 Gaynor
- Also, final point, if she was lost yesterday 12 noonish near to the church and was seen by Swift House early this afternoon, she had only gone a few hundred yards so is hopefully not too far away now if she is still out on the streets, and is just lying low.

- safe and sound right now with people looking for her owner. Swift House has the canal on one side and Stoke Station (railway line) immediately on the other, so it would be a good idea to check with the Station perhaps and Network Rail. Just under the railway bridge and across the road is the 6th Form College, and hundreds of students walk down under the railway bridge and then across the canal bridge every day, so would be a good idea to go in there with some posters. Also good idea to get an ad in Sentinel straight away, with photo, as this local paper is widely read and often produces good results. Also check with City Dogs Home and Animal Lifeline kennels. And ring Radio Stoke and Signal Radio to get on air, they will usually be helpful. Posters along Glebe Steet (opposite the church) will be seen by hundreds of people as all the council workers walk that way into town centre each day. Hope all that helps, will be looking out myself as much as I can.Last edited: 2012-11-12 23:07:53 by Gaynor

- Hi, I'm a Stoke person and know the area round there really well. Sadly don't have the opportunity tomorrow to join in the search, but just posting some info here in case it helps. Do you know exactly where Roxy was seen by Swift House .. that is, on the canal path itself, or on the bridge going over the top of the canal which is actually alongside Swift House? If it was on the bridge, this is a hugely busy area with both traffic and pedestrians and it is highly feasible that she could have been picked up by someone who is hanging on to her to look after her, or has taken her already to a vet - as she's not microchipped she could be happily ensconced somewhere

- The owner Sarah is on my friends list on FB. The family were only in the area for the day, they have had to return home to Wales. If anyone is local they would appreciate any help with getting posters up. Roxy is just 6 months old. I have uploaded the photo so email alerts can go out.
