This is a long post sorry! I wasn't in the area at the time and couldn't get out to search until the following Wednesday. A few people went out the following day but now only one or two people looking now. It's difficult though as there is a lot of woodland and farmland but the farmer who uses the land is out every day checking his stock and is keeping an eye on the situation. I have been out several time since, searching the woods and fields. I have talked to many and knocked a lot of doors as well as doing a leaflet drop. Vets have been contacted also and both the Birmingham DW and the Bromsgrove one as this is on the boundaries of both Councils. I have contacted the Highways Agency and the Highways Dept for both Councils. I have been to Lifford Street Cleansing Dept which if found inside the B'ham boundary they would pick it up if it had died on the road etc. Nothing recorded there but they put info and my contact details on their noticeboard. They were quite helpful. The annoying thing is that three people followed the dog after it crossed the carriageway and walked in the B'ham direction and then it went into the bushes down the bank and they left it at that. It was just off the A38 towards the Rubery Leisure Centre in Holywell Lane. Just that one call with a sighting would be wonderful but there has been nothing-the dog has completely disappeared. We thought it may have stayed in the undergrowth and died but we are trying to be more positive than that though not easy but the girl who witnessed the accident showed me exactly where he/she left the main road so we both got cutting some of the brambles back expecting the worse but couldn't find anything. There is a gap under the fence where it could have got through but could be anywhere by this time. There is a tunnel under the carriageway which the farmer uses to move his stock from field to field and I have been through there and searched the other side of the road too. Pretty sure this dog was dumped as it was reported to the Police as seen wandering in the layby and this was a while before it was hit but they didn't do anything until there was an accident as there were vehicles/people then involved. I know the Police don't get involved with lost and found but it seems that dogs are getting less and less support now from the Authorities. It's ridiculous as that poor dog could even have caused a fatal accident and things would have been even worse.

Oh, poor dog....so did all this happen a week ago? What a worry if he's still out there after all this time, with injuries.
