- BSL? Grrrrrr...... A gentleman I spoke to not long ago had a similar problem when he was playing "fetch" with his friendly male Staffie in a nearby park, a policeman came, and accused him of being in possession of a banned breed. When the so called dangerous dog came back with ball in mouth, "Full of beans", and very friendly, the policeman realized there was an error here, smiled, and walked away. I think some people get confused with this type of breed. My sister was always getting people coming up to her whilst walking the dog demanding it to be muzzled. Judy was a pedigree Staffie, but what they didn`t know was that they were in danger of being "Licked to death" Sure other Staffie have had this problem too.

- Welcome home Kaydoe. Can I suggest that as well as getting him microchipped, neutered and insured you do the KC Good Citizens with him, also if you can get proof of his parentage, with photos of mum and dad that would help. Get your vet to confirm as well that he is listed with them as a Lab/Staff cross, and anything else you can do to help his case. Good luck for the future Kaydoe.

Spoken to the Dogs Trust in Huyton and they are still running their Free Neutering and Microchipping Scheme for Bull Type breeds. This is a fantastic scheme and other owners we have been in contact with have taken up the offer and had their dogs done. THANK YOU to the DOGS TRUST the scheme is such a big help. xxx - 2012-12-01 09:11 Unknown

- Thanks a million to his owners for the lovely update, which is straight from the heart. Great when we get feedback from owners, really does help and support others in the same unfortunate position. Kaydoe's was one of the sadder cases knowing their boy had been found but having to wait to get him back. We are so so pleased for them and thanks for staying on DogLost and offering a donation towards helping other owners. We will help family in getting the gorgeous Kaydoe CHIPPED, NEUTERED and TATTOOED a.s.a.p.
From everyone we wish his family all a very happy future together. Lots of Love and kisses to them and Kaydoe, he is one lucky boy to have such loving caring owners. ♥ ♥ ♥ - 2012-12-01 08:38 Majorjet (Jan) - Area Co-ordinator - Liverpool/Merseyside, North West

- Puddles and Millys Mum thank you for your great comments and advice. I will speak to Kaydoe's family and discuss classes with them. Many years ago I used to be part of a Dog Training Club and we run the KCGCAS which is great to see dogs and owners go through. Thanks again for sharing the advice. xxx

- I'm also happy to hear that Kaydoe is back home with his family and what a lovely reunited piccie. I just hate that ill-thought out, stupid 'law'. But, as well as getting him neutered and chipped, it would be a good thing for Kaydoe to attend regular dog-training classes, especially a class that culminates in dogs being put through the Kennel Club Good Citizens Award Scheme. It would also have the added benefit of a fully qualified dog trainer being able to verify Kaydoe's temperament, should the need arise. I've put all our lot through the Scheme and it's really a great feeling when they achieve their Bronze, Silver and Gold certificates. It's really not difficult and just needs commitment, attending a weekly class and putting a little training each and every day even if the 'training' is done in the garden, up and down the road or even indoors. The Kennel Club will be able to provide you with a list of qualified trainers in your area . I recently made enquiries and they sent me a list via email. But finally... welcome home handsome Kaydoe!Last edited: 2012-11-30 14:05:53 by Millys Mum

- glad O's are tryng to get neutered and chipped, sure it will also help with any future assessments as even if he is found to be of 'type' he could be placed on the exemption register but some of the requirements are neutering, tattoing, 3rd party insurance etc, if some of these things are put in place before an assessment it may help. Agree with everyone else BSL is so unfair. Glad he is home for christmas.

- It was great to get the much awaited good news from his mum early this afternoon. It has been such a nail biting time for everyone since that day we met at the RSPCA kennels and they confirmed it was Kaydoe and had to leave him behind.
Have talked today with his mum about getting him CHIPPED and NEUTERED a.s.a.p. which is what they want to get done. There are schemes running in our area that neuter for free which will be a beg help.
THANK YOU to everyone who has shown concern for his family at this very stressful time. xxx - 2012-11-29 20:46 ellejay

Hi everyone I'm KAYDOE'S owner and I have been fighting tooth an nail for him these past 10 days. An I know for sure Kaydoe will be feeling very stressed an lonley as he's used to being with me 24/7 an the funny thing is he doesn't really like to be outside in the cold so he wont be liking the kennels he is in. KAYDOE is such a loving friendly dog whose a big softy and loves all other animals an ppl an children :) an Kaydoe loves to sleep on his back with all 4 legs up in the air while snoring like a typical man lol i guess im kind of missing that to :) PLEASE EVERYONE COULD U ALL DO ONE LAST THING FOR KAYDOE AN KEEP ALL FINGERS CROSSED FOR HIS RETURN NEXT WEEK!!! i cant thankyou all enuff for all ur love an support for kaydoe. - Not long left the kennels after meeting up with owners, who got lost finding their way there.
They have confirmed it is Kaydoe, unfortunately he is going to have to be Police checked and it is now a waiting game.
Obviously owners were upset but they will have to wait. I've given them advice of who to contact in case required.
Keeping everything crossed all goes well with the Police check and they do not have too long to wait for Kodoe to go home. x - 2012-11-17 11:48 Majorjet (Jan) - Area Co-ordinator - Liverpool/Merseyside, North West
