I know this is probably far too late but this sounds a bit like my friends staff who was stolen October 2012 and sold on. she is a small staff x boston terrier. placid and beautiful. very obedient. she is called also called Tia. is there a picture?

Well done to Claire for taking the cutie away from the alleged owners ! You seem to care very much for the girl and Im sure she appreciates the kindness you are showing her. You seem to know what is best for the little one, and are being very sensible in having criteria so Tia can have a forever home! Rather than just be moved around ...which will lead to more anxiety for her. Good luck ! xxx
Claire
Thank you so much. You are all so kind. You all loves animals just like me. I love this website. What a great job these people do. Amazing. X

Good for you Claire - well done and good luck in finding a forever home xx
Claire
Hi all, pleased do not worry. Any new owners will be totally vetted. I have a criteria and would prefer a retired couple. No person under the age of 40, nice home which I will want to see. You can tell allot by first meeting some one. I am a good judge of character. She needs a mature owner.
I Know this narrows her chances but so be it, she will stay with me until then. My family will help. I will also require evidence of any potential owners identity and proof of address. a check will be run for any previous animal cruelty. She really is one amazing soul.

Well done Clare for saving this girl. Good advice CopperM - it worries me that the original owners might try to reclaim Tia and do the same again. She's a lovely little girl. xx
CopperM
Clare sounds as if she really cares. http://forum.rescuehelpersunite.co.uk/index.php has a long list of rescues that may be able to help by giving rescue back up - support when it's needed during the dog's life. Please enlist the help of a rescue, there's so much danger if dogs are rehomed to 'stranger's' or via free ads. Some have been used as bait animals for fighting rings and paid the ultimate price.
Keep us posted - you've done brilliantly so far!

Tia is so lucky you found her. I really hope she can be found a new home and get the life she deserves. Would it be possible to change the region to South East as I believe she is in London going by the E4 postcode? Thank you.

Lovely photo now on site. Just hope Claire can find Tia the home she so deserves.

How lovely if you could find someone locally so you can keep in touch. You are so kind to have her best interests at heart. What will happen when you return to work? Some rescue homes have registered foster carers, some of whom are retired people home most of the time, maybe they could help until her forever home is found? I know All Dogs Matter and the Mayhew Animal Home have these schemes.Goog luck.

How about loading a photo Claire - helps people see her and makes sharing easier. x

I honestly would love to keep her. She is very needy, has to be by your side 24/7. she needs company during the day and would suit a homemaker or someone retired. She hates being left. Luckily I am off work this week. She is very clean. Would love to see her go to someone who can offer her one to one companionship. She deserves it. Even if I employed a dog walker, it still would not be fair on her. She needs stability after everything she has been through and to be by someone's side loving them all day. I want the utmost best for her. It will break my heart, but I know she would be so happy.

Hi all, thanks for all your lovely comments. Tia is a beautiful girl. Unbelievably obedient. Very gentle lady. Never known a dog to be so gentle. Yes I have fallen in love with her but I have 4 cats. The cats are absolutely petrified. Tia does not bark at cats but seems to think they would want to play with her. She does not bark at other dogs, she loves other dogs. She is good on a lead. Unfortunately she has been mistreated and does seem to have been beaten. Tell tale signs. Se is currently a sleep on her new bed. Trained in one day not to sit on my sofa ;) x

Poor Tia, hope she gets a lovely home with someone who deserves her! Or maybe the finder will totally fall for her and find a neighbour/dogwalker to help her out???
mathers22
DISGUSTING people shame on them. Let's hope Tia gets a decent home now. Well done to the finder xx

Well done to the finder......shame on the owner:((((
AlisonH
The owner of this lovely dog was located and took her home. Unbelievably yesterday they called the finder and told her she could have Tia for £20. Finder was so disgusted that she went over and collected her. She is now on the way to the vets to get her checked over and then she is going to have her bathed and her nails clipped. Tia will now be staying with the finder until she can find her a loving home. Sadly the finder cannot give her a permenant home as she works. Photo will be sent in.Last edited: 2012-11-20 08:50:11 by AlisonH
