words escape me too, shame on those who live at No.18, proper neighbours from hell!!! how they could close their eyes & sleep at night with poor Alfie left to suffer in their garden in the cold is just beyond me, how utterly cold and heartless of them... rant over, words tamed down to avoid moderation. On a lighter note, so so pleased Alfie is home, safe & warm :D
AkitaTaz
Welcome home Alfie xx I thought that it was a criminal offence to not take a stray dog back to its owner or to the local authority????
tribalclaire
glad he is home and safe in the warm lets all go throw eggs at no.18 waste of sapce some people xx
JayneD
Yes, I'm really pleased to have my dog back too. I took all the posters down today. Thank you for your moral support as well as useful suggestions - it made all the difference.

Really pleased that you have your dog back. Heartless and stupid people. Afraid that sentence is the only one I would probably be allowed to keep me out of moderation! Stay safe Alfie and no more peering through fence holes as you now know what's on the other side and its not nice! xx
mathers22
So pleased he's home safely - no thanks to the residents of number 18 - SHAME ON THEM xx
lesleyjane
Poor boy, hopefully the vegetation gave him some shelter from the cold! I know not everyone likes dogs but a bit of compassion and common sense wouldn't go amiss! Thanks to the people at 22! xx

TX goodness you put the posters up and kind people let you know...

So pleased you have your boy back home JayneD, how awful that people are so 'hyped' into thinking that a staffy type is a dangerous dog that they could leave an animal in distress with no thought as to doing the right thing.

Posters are such an important way of getting the message out as you have found - just as important are removing them after the dog is found otherwise as you say people think that dogs are not found when they continue to see the same posters day in day out.

Give your lovely lad a big hug from us all at DogLost xx Last edited: 2012-12-03 09:57:10 by Angus

UNBELIEVABLE !! How could anyone leave a dog in distress out in the cold with no food or water. A phone call to the dog warden or police could have sorted the situation. Poor Alfie, welcome home gorgeous bet you are glad to be back in the warm. No more escaping for you xx

So pleased you have Alfie back. Is very sad the people at number 18 where so cruel and heartless. Thankfully the people at 22 did the right thing.

Thank you for your email JayneD & I am so pleased you have your lovely boy back. Thank goodness for the kind ,sensible people who cared & made sure they found out what was going on with poor Alfie. A big thank you to them as now we can put Alfie in the blue as reunited .

I postered the area at midday.

At 7pm, we were phoned by the people at 22 St Mary's Crescent who had heard a dog barking at 18 St Mary's Crescent since Friday. They saw the posters and thought it might be the missing dog so they knocked on the door of no 18 St Mary's Crescent. The occupants of no. 18 KNEW that they had a dog stuck in their garden, tangled by his lead in vegetation, but they thought he was dangerous and so did NOTHING about it for two nights (0'C) and two days, with no water and no food and they weren't going to do anything about it either– we only got him back because the people at no. 22 went round and questioned them

I can't believe it. Were they going to leave him to die of exposure, thirst or starvation? I can understand that many people are scared of dogs especially dogs they do not know but could they not have called the police?

I was out this evening with my phone put through to my daughter in Cornwall who and our kind neighbours to collected him.

Thankfully he is OK

Thank goodness I followed the DogLost advice and put out posters. I always thought they were a bit of a waste of time – there are always lots in the park and the dogs never seem to be found. How wrong I was.Last edited: 2012-12-03 01:52:50 by JayneD

Thank you re highways (03001235000) have contacted them and am putting posters out today. faxed Mayhew & Nat Animal Welfare trust with photo by fax and Battersea. Police have no dead dogs reported so far.Chip people have sent alert to all vets etc within 30mile radius and good news from them is that they saw people often keep dogs over weekend as they think nowhere is openLast edited: 2012-12-02 10:06:56 by JayneD
