- Hi Bruce, first of all was your dog chipped? Do you have a photograph of Alfie? I sometimes think that rescue kennels/dog wardens scanners may possibly need the batteries changing and sometimes don't show up if a chip is present! If your dog was chipped ask them to scan again. You could also (if possible) email them a picture of your Alfie or send a text picture. Not sure of your location but are you able to visit and check out personally?

- Hi, I'm Bruce the owner of a lost GSD in Nuneaton. The most remarkable thing about Alfie was the bushiness of his tail and the silkiness of his coat, he was pampered and adored! Bearing in mind he was still growing, the dog in the photo does not look unsimilar to Alfie. However having called, those who have him seem certain it is not my dog, what can I say/do? Only I would know whether or not it was my dog I would have thought but some are wiser than myself! If he remembered being called Alfie and had a small prominent scar on his belly from an operation he had before I took him on then it could well be my beloved dog! I would however have to stand before him to see if he recognised me, Alfie was stolen from me and prior to his departure we were inseparable, night or day!
