Wonderful news! Pleased to hear that Gus now been chipped. Hope he's also getting a nice, new shiny ID tag on his collar. Also a huge THANK YOU and WELL DONE to the two great and ever-caring Dog Wardens and good to hear that the Lambeth DW will be signing up with DogLost. Finally... welcome home Gus - stay close and safe.Last edited: 2012-12-06 23:05:10 by Millys Mum

We have just spoken to the owner and it was Gus. He is now back home in front of the fire. Happy ending. Thanks to everyone.

That sounds promising. Hope it's Gus. It does seem likely as I reckon that Norwood would only be a 20 minute car journey from Keston Common. All fingers and paws crossed 'this end'.

Fingers crossed! x

Yes Lambeth did pick up a dog similar to this but was not sure of the breed. We have not had a lost report for this dog so have not linked them together but looking at the picture lambeth sent I do believe it is the same dog.I wish I could send you the photo but can't!

Hi guys. I have just had a text from Lambeth dog warden to ask if I knew if anyone had reported a missing Italian Spinone...picked up in Norwood Park Sat- which isn't far from BR area!!! I have just called her and given her the mob for this owner just in case! Xx

I've advertised Gus on the Italian Spinone Club's website front page for you and also on our Facebook page. Our newsletter is going to print on Monday so if Gus is still missing we can put something in that too. Hope you have good news soon and if you need any help with identification/possible sightings we have members all over the country who will be happy to assist. Linda.

Forgot to add - owners, if Gus hasn't been found at the weekend it may be worth putting an advert in the Newsshopper for next week - I think the cut off time is Monday morning.

I spoke to the owner yesterday. Gus went missing from Keston Common, from his front garden, so could have been stolen. He's not tagged or microchipped. Gus's story is doing the rounds on Facebook and Twitter - Spins aren't that common - it is possible that even a rescue centre would describe him as something else.
pixies peeps
Think the br2 starts at leaves green between biggin and bromley. The dog could also have gone to New addington from there and I think they come under croydon. Foal farm rescue is in Biggin Hill and the rspca have a centre in new addington I think.

As Baggy Dog has said, the Biggin Hill area has TN postcodes whereas BR2 covers Shortlands and Bromley. Which area did Gus go missing from and in what circumstances i.e. from home, during a walk, etc? I presume the dog warden service and all vets have been notified. There are also several boarding kennels in the area who might hear about a 'found' Spinone. Will definately keep my ears and eyes open. As we all know on DogLost, POSTERS are key in reuniting missing dogs and so Gus's owners need to start off with at least 100 posters (and 200 is better!). Could Gus's owners please update us on what and where has been covered so far.

PS Hello wickedweims - good to see that you are also on the case!Last edited: 2012-12-04 23:45:45 by Millys Mum

This lovely boy went missing OVER A WEEK AGO His people have done everything they can to find him Please can the alerts be sent out to a wider area as this dog would not go with anyone so they are convinced he has been stolen please look out for this lovely lad

Have friends in the area, will ask them to keep a look out. They have kids too so will get them to tell their school friends.

Whereabouts in Biggin Hill? Most of it is TN postcode. Helpers - don't forget that the Spinone is often mistaken for a labradoodle or various other dogs. I’ve found that it helps to print out an A4 sheet of paper cut into business-card size slips, each with brief details and your phone number on. Give them to all the local dog walkers, postmen etc. you meet. Then if someone has news when they’re out and about they don’t need to find a poster or log on to the site to contact you.
