Timmy`s Mummy. The average age of a Staffie sis about 12/14. I have heard of some Staffies living until 15 or 16, so who knows? I hope this brings some news of Bruce. My heart goes out to people who have loat their dogs especially on a long term basus. All you can hope is that they had a good life. It does get me very that someone can steal a dog, and does not care about the owners feeling or that they have broken a family` heart. SHAME ON YOU. Paws xd.

As posted in previous comments the post by jan.dylan looks like it was posted many years ago (2011-08-14 21:48) and Anne Bowe must have not checked Bruce's DL page and seen the comment.

It is jan who we need to give us an update on what happened to the found dog and if the found details were registered on DogLost.

Is the dog safe? Is there a reason WHY he hasn't yet been scanned? My worry is that if indeed this dog IS Bruce- then he's very old - and it would be catastrophic if he passes away before Anne His mum has had a chance to see him one last time. What can I do to help this along. ? Can someone please get the dog scanned quickly?

It's Bowe and there are a few in the Lake District. Before anyone goes to the press we need to track down Jan.Dylan and sort out the date issue. As I understand it the dog hasn't been scanned and confirmed as Bruce and Jan hasn't seen a photo of Bruce, she is going on description only and approx age only.

Majorjet did you have any joy calling the number I gave you?

I thought from her facebook that her surname was BOWE, if you go to the press you need to get her surname right. Looks like she has some relatives as friends on her facebook page so maybe you could contact them also she is listed in the White Pages. Sorry for interfering but before I retired I did this sort of work with MOD. I could find anyone - now I can just about find myself! xxx

Jan, can u please confirm that the found dog has been scanned and it is this missing dog Bruce, who's mum is Anne Baugh? Is the dog safe and being fostered while the search is on to contact Anne? Wensmum I've passed info on to majorjet, reggiemollieros info sounds the same as mine. Not sure how much help it really is to Bruces mum if the found dog really is from 2011 and there is no way of contacting the lady that found him :-(

I've put this appeal out on horse sites..there's a reaction to Ann Bowes name on one of the sites. They say there's an Anne BOWE on f.b and have inboxes her.

Thanks for pointing out the date, will follow this up. If it was posted in 2011 that would make sense why Jan has matched BRUCE on DL if there was a photo on site. Not heard back from Jan up to now. Looks like Bruce's Mum has not seen the post, which is sad. We always strongly advise owners to keep checking DL for matches as impossible for DL to monitor all posts and owners should also update details when there are changes.

Am trying to contact Anne (Bruce's Mum) as we have found an elderly dog in Essex matching Bruce's description and the age that he would be now. I have a photo of this dog and am keen to show it to Anne. My heart goes out to you, this is very sad, my staffy went missing and with Dog lost uk help he was returned, you should never give up hope. There appears to be an ongoing issue with Staffy's being stolen rather than lost as they are worth money, to all you dog theives i hope you rot in hell!!! all the best xx

I went round Dogs Trust in Roden, near Telford in Shropshire and Hilbrae rescue kennels also near Telford the other day. One of them had a white Staffie in for re-homing but I can't remember which. There were so many dogs in both. It may be worth a look. Hope you find him soon. Chris

Hello, this is the first time that I have read about Bruce. I am a fireman based in the area where he went missing and so I travel all over that and surrounding areas at all times of dayand night, I know that it's been quite some time since Bruce has been missing but I am going to print of a poster and put it on our noticeboard at the station for all of the other watches to see. If you've got any other information that you think could be useful, specific areas where he has been seen PM me. I hope that this is of some help...

Anne, please look at the reunited page a staffie was found that had been missing for over a year!! I carry Bruce's photo with me and show it to everyone i show Max's too, you never know they might both be in the same place!! Are you going to re start a poster campaign because i am always about!! Like you I have been absolutely devastated but refuse to give up. I have peaks and troughs - some days I can't do anything at all but then I feel invigorated. he's such a hansome boy that I guess they don't want to give him up - at least you know whe's around. never give up - PM me with your email address and I'll email you a leaflet to pass out to vets asking them to check all new 'patients' for chips and then to check the chip database.

Hello Ann and thank you for your call today,I can tell how upset you are and I want to help you in any way that I can. I know that it has been a very long time since Bruce went missing,but he has to be somewhare! Like I said I would start your appeal all over again. Send out posters to vets,pet shops,local councils,super markets etc,put up posters everywhare. It helped me to put a note at the bottom of each poster for people to phone for posters and also put them in their car windows. All the very best and you can call me any time day or night. Justine
