We were the fosterers of both Mungo and Pongo and have a dog trap which is in Calne at the moment. If you want to borrow it and help immediately after Christmas please contact me on 07843 263441. Mungo was caught in a trap. However permission is required if you set the trap on anyone's land and it has to be regularly checked in case another animal gets trapped in it. Thinking of you at this difficult time as we know what you are going through.

We have left food and bedding near to where she was sighted late last night and owners are going to keep checking a replacing morning and evening to hopefully keep her close to one area. Will speak to you in the morning

I'll contact you in the morning but Elaine did say that it was best to choose a place where the trap could be placed and leave food there for a couple of days to get her used to it and then place the trap there and then leave food outside for a couple of days before placing food inside.

Lizzy If her owners cant do it, I can go and get the trap ASAP as have large estate car. Please give me a call to arrange. I left my number with you and its listed below. Her owners think she may have been back to her blanket that they left out earlier today near to where she was sighted last night.

Thanks Lizzy. Will pass message re trap on.

Lady with sniffer dog is doing transport runs at the moment to get dogs to rescues from the pounds prior to Christmas. I have located a trap in Leicester but it may need for owner to meet them half way to pick it up. The lady with the trap may not be able to do this until the day after boxing day (the crate is quite long) so may not fit easily into a smallish car. Also trap needs to be monitired so as to stop it been stolen and because of wildlife.

Owner in area where she went missing at dawn. Several of us have been in area today but no sighting of Kandy. Not suprising as she is a scared ex-breeding dog. Lots of posters put up in immediate area. Kandy's original fosterer is still there with Kandy's blanket, a crate and some high value food. Is there a sniffer dog in this area? Any chance of the experts who managed to catch Pongo/Mungo advising?

Hi sue, no not yet. I have just given him a bit over the phone. Could you sent it to him please...thank you.Last edited: 2012-12-23 15:10:31

Could anyone give us some advice on scenting or whether it would be appropriate to use a trap as she is very scared of people and hand shy. Her owners have called her Susy but she doesn't really know this name. She answered to Ginger or Ginger Rogers when she was in foster with me so may still be reassured by this name.

Has the owner had any scenting advice Lizzy?

Owner spotted her last night in the same area by torchlight at around 10.30pm. The area is 1 mile squared. I have advised him to contact local radio. He is also handing out leaflets as there is a burger bar there at weekends.

Kandy has a docked tail and an orange spot on the top of her head. She is a very sweet but nervous girl although unlikely to approach humans she may be confident enough to approach another dog. Her details and picture are up on the cockersonline forum
Please contact her owners using their number above or if any problems getting through you can call me too on 07720-289050 Last edited: 2012-12-22 23:54:37 by Woodville

Owner needs to post asap and contact local radio. Owner could also place down some bedding of Kandy's and also a t.shirt/nighty with owners smell on close to the place she went missing from. Owner should also contact local riding stables. You could also hand out flyers to dog walkers.

Photo should be going on shortly.
