Its with a very heavy heart that I have to let you know that Joey didn't make it home :(
Message from Joey's owner:
To all the Joey well wishers, last week we received a call from a lady who found some remains which appear to be the same structure as a small jack Russell.
The owner has made the journey to Cumbria to collect the remains and are accepting that this is probably Joey. Based on the location of the remains and where Joey was lost.
He will be buried in the family garden.
The family would like to thank everyone for their love and support.

I hope and pray everyday that joey will be back with you soon. A few years ago I lost my dog for 5weeks and some local kids found him in an elderly mans garden. So never give up hope and he will be back home again

You're right and well done....never give up......keep going updating here and on his F/B page if you can....it'll help keep everyone looking. If I didnt work all week I would go up myself though I do go walking in the Lakes from time to time so next time will go to High street/Patterdale. Would The Ramblers or other local walking groups help (think theres a few in Southport?)
I will keep a look out on websites and Joeys F/B page (am just starting out on F/B though) but if I can send Joeys poster anywhere for you let me know.......if you ever want to arrange an organised search party let us know too. Noticed Ben 47308 was found (from near Penrith) and he has a F/B page maybe could post Joeys details on there too to help spread the word? https://www.facebook.com/letsfindben
Uber the dog in Bristol has had a big following too and people have been posting lost dogs (including Ben) there too F/B page Urgent Find Uber
I would do it but I'm a complete F/B novice and not sure how to :(

Theres a few of us following Joey (from the Southport area) and hoping he's found soon xx

Joeys family are brilliant travelling up to the Patterdale area frequently from Southport(near to my area). Wish I had more time, I would go up there searching too.

"Update: we think there has been a sighting of Joey. A local farmer thinks he has spotted him about a week ago. The sighting was on low land level so fingers crossed he has made it down the fell safely.
Please keep your positive thoughts going for him. Bring Joey home for the new year x"

I have spoken to Joey's owner they have done everything you possibly could do to find him. They have been back to the area he went missing from to search for him, the search and rescue have been out searching and are going back out today with a search dog to try and find him. They have had so much support and help from everyone and they can't thank everyone enough for all the help they are giving them. Fingers crossed that the search dog finds Joey today!!

They are putting Joey in the paper this week, i've asked if they could either let me know or send a email into Admin and we can them bump his page.
