Anymore news xxx
LindaT
Any more news on the dog found at Upper Rissington?
LindaT
Keeping my fingers crossed that this is going to be good news for Woody`s family, at least this dog will be safe, whoever he/she is, I hope :-)
Algernon TrustLisaP
Found it & sent Woodys pics - thank you :)
Algernon TrustLisaP
Cant see tweet now, if it is still there can you retweet it to @find_woody please
Abi-mama
On twitter today CotswoldDC have tweeted a German Shepherd X was found on April 16th at Upper Rissington, possibly courtesy of Wilts and Glos Standard, but I cannot find any more details....... Says to ring 01285 623000. Xx
Carol
Posters need to stay up or be put up again , and search still needs to be apparent , come on woody show yourself xxx
islandgirl
I think he is and I just hope people are still looking for him.
Carol
I still think that woody is out there xxx
islandgirl
Also hoping that evertyone hasnt given up looking for Woody - it is not certain that the dead dog was Woody and the abscence of a photo and the chip not being looked for does not mean necessarily that he isnt still out there. In fact the council worker says he was harmed by the accident but the man that picked him up a local motorist said there wasnt a mark on him!
islandgirl
Woody was originally lost from Culworth and was seen in Caversfield, Bicester and it was thought Kirtlington. The first time anything came in from Witney was when the owner heard from a Council worker there that he had picked up and disposed of what he said was Woodys body.
Catwhothinksitsadog
Ref Islandgirl. I live in Ducklington, which is about a mile south of Witney just by the A40. I have not seen any posters for a lost GSD in Witney but neither did I hear of any sightings of a stray GSD. I agree that photos ought to be taken of dogs involved in RTAs or at least an attempt made to find a chip. I believe Dilly's owner (Jack Russell) went through this same thing with lost dog in RTA on M25 but no attempt made to chip and body disposed of too soon meaning not able to have absolute certainty.
Carol
Hope there are sightings am praying for some xxx
Algernon TrustLisaP
It is obviously a very upsetting time for Jayne, Woody's owner, having been so thorough with investigating all of the leads to ensure an absolute answer, it is very difficult now to have to accept a part answer, the posters are all still displayed so hopefully time will give a better answer when we see if any new sightings are reported!
islandgirl
Woodys owners are asking if anyone has had sighting of a dog like him since last weekend since he was reported as having gone to the Rainbow Bridge. Importantly did anyone see him in Witney itself.
Paula Griffin's Mum
such sad news :( our thoughts are with Woody's family, I hope it's not your boy, sadly if it is Woody then RIP sweet boy xx
LindaT
This is so sad, and to not be able to have full confirmation makes moving on very difficult for the family. I wonder if it is worth putting posters where the dog was found in case it was a different dog and someone is still looking and it might prompt them to come forward too. Not all members of the public I speak to are even aware of Doglost..it`s not till you need them that you look into dog-search agencies etc..Even dog-owners/lovers might find it hard to make a definite Id, especially after an RTA..just a thought. I am sure any further sightings of Woody or any other GS type dog will be reported, people won`t just stop looking. Rest in Peace at Rainbow Bridge, dear German Shepherd (((xx)))
digbysmum
Just logged on, only to find that four have gone to the bridge today. So very sad.
My thoughts are with dear Woody's family at this time, who, if this is indeed Woody, now at least have closure. Run free at the bridge, lovely Woody xxx
DogLostMillypod (Chris) - Administrative Volunteer
Such a sad week with so many beautiful dogs gone to the Bridge :((
Run free at Rainbow Bridge Woody but am hoping for a sighting too.xx
DogLostRavenette - Area Co-ordinator - West Sussex
I have been following Woody from the start on facebook and am so sad to read this. However, I tend to agree with Kim and think it best to leave the posters up for awhile. I really hope that this turns out not to be dear Woody...but if it does then run free at the bridge beautiful boy forever in your families hearts xxx
Woodford
The whole story seems very confusing to me ! A body found at the Weekend ! disposed of before checking if the dog was chipped ? ! then say it was Woody ... Im not convinced ....
Look how many people say the saw a german shepherd and it wasnt .. how upsetting for the family .. I agree photos are a must ...
Deb4gsd
so sorry, very sad news! Hoping that just maybe this wasn't Woody, and he shows himself soon, but if sadly it is Woody, then run free sweet boy xx

So very sorry to read this. Life is just so cruel sometimes. Run free at the bridge sweet Woody x

DogLostKimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
What a sad week, with these fur babies. Tucker, Banjo and now sweet Woody. To Woody's family, although right now you don't have confirmation, try and go with your instincts. If you feel it may well have been Woody, then it maybe the case. But, I would leave those posters up and be alert to any other sightings, just in case. If you get any, then you continue. If you don't, then this may be your answer. I am so terribly, terribly sorry. When owners try so hard and hurt so much, it just does not seem right to endure this type of loss. I pray that one day, we will all have the answers we need and until then, that Woody's family finds confirmation and peace in their hearts. God bless you sweet Woody, safe in heaven, looking after your loved ones from above, until you are together once more, forever. xxx
Beanie245
So sorry to read this our thoughts are with you... Run free at the bridge Woody with our boy Tucker... XXX
Nikki (Tyler's mum)
As the owner of a GSD cross Rottie myself Woody's plight touched my heart and each day I checked for news of this handsome boy and prayed that he would soon be in the blue, although I am sad to learn that he has now been moved to the blue for a reason I was praying would not happen. My thoughts go out to his dear family at this time, you tried so hard to get your boy home but I'm sure he knew how hard you tried and will now be waiting at the gates for when you can be reunited once again x
glossoplass
Im devastated about Woody, I always hoped he would be on the reunited page when I looked, and today he his, with Banjo too but not in the way I wanted. So sad.
Unknown
A~~~Candle~~~will be lit for Woody todayxxx

I am gutted to see the news about Woody. My sympathy, and prayers are with Woody`s family. Please find comfort that one day you will see Woody again (When the time is right). night, night handsome Woody, sleep tight, and run free at the bridge while God watches over you. Sending your heartbroken family lots of (((HUGS)))for their tragic loss. RIP+ God Blessx PS Please everybody mind your pets, the roads are horrendous today.
Zooberoo
I've been following this on Twitter and I'm so sad to see that Woody didn't make it home :(
It's so tragic, he looked like a lovely dog. x

So so sad for your loss, RIP Woody xxx thoughts are with your family xx
Carol
Maybe someone will see another sighting and that this wasn't woody :-( prayers and thoughts go out for the dog that was killed xxxx
ClaireC
I am so very very sorry to read this tragic news. You have tried so hard to get Woody home. My thoughts and sincere condolences to you all. RIP Woody xx
Netty-B
This is so frustrating for us animal lovers, would they treat a persons body like this!!! NO THEY WOULD NOT, to us they are a person, they are a loved member of our families and the law needs to change!!! the way bodies are dealt with is wrong, even cars dumped are kept for a while to find the owners, and they are given the chance to claim them before they are scraped. We get our dogs chipped for this reason, more should be done to trace the owners and time allowed to come and collect the bodies for the family to deal with. Right i have had my moan. R.I.P. Woody you look so beautiful, have fun at rainbow bridge until your family come for you. My thoughts are with the family at this very sad time but you did all you could and have great memories of him. xxxx
Meru
Oh how sad. I am so very, very sorry to hear about Woody - RIP sweetheart, run happy and free over the Bridge xxx
Algernon TrustLisaP
Absolutely, so frustrating that the body was disposed of so quickly :(
Timmy's Mummy
Oh I was so hoping that it wouldn't be Woody, however, I live in hope as its not 100% that this poor dog was Woody?
Algernon TrustLisaP
It is only just under 14 miles away & is the direction he was moving towards, he has moved large distances each time he's moved on :(
Timmy's Mummy
I can't see how it would be Woody as it is so far away from the last sighting. I honestly think it was another dog. Between Burford and Witney on the A40?? I don't think so!
mathers22
I've just read on GSD United that Woody has been involved in an RTA and has gone to The Bridge. This is so sad xx
Shereen
its possible someone may of reported the deceased dog to the council,so Lisa has emailed to see if we can find this person (if that's the case)

dogs should be photographed even if its part of the body just to show colour if nothing else!
Unknown
Oh no......this is so upsetting:((((
Boo
I thought the same Lynne about the condition and I agree about photographing all dogs who go to the dog wardens/councils. I've followed woody on here and fb and am so so sorry if this is him. Run free baby, whoever you are xx
Lynne
Oh no. Maybe it should be a policy to photograph animals/dogs that come in to Wardens, no matter how bad they look, just so owners can identify them and move on. The thing that bothers me about this is that the guy said that the dog looked in good condition (I asked him about this dog in case it was Roxy). Surely neither of these dogs would look in good condition after months on the road?? oxox
Algernon TrustLisaP
The member of the public who moved the body has replied to say that he sadly cant say, it was dark :(
Nickhoneys
Oh no this is so so sad. You worked so hard to get him home and I felt like you were getting close. Thoughts to the family and RIP Woody xx
Lynne
Just spoke to the guy on twitter and he said the dog's name was Woody so I came straight here. His twitter name @RealFarmerPrice. Sooo sad. xoxo
Shereen
Im reluctant to move him over to the blue yet...we are trying to contact a member of the public who moved the body off the side of the road into a layby,so he may be able to id a little better.Last edited: 2013-04-17 16:22:13 by Shereen

Condolences from all at NANNA animal rescue. R.I.P Woody xxx
Algernon TrustLisaP
It is with great sadness that we let you all know that Woody is believed to have been hit by a car just outside of Witney, his injuries were such that he would have been killed instantly. His body was collected by the local council, due to the injuries they were unable to locate a microchip & have now disposed of the body. We have however spoken to the worker who collected the body who has also looked at pictures of Woody, he is as sure as he can be that it was Woody that was collected :'( We would like to say a massive thanks to everyone who has helped & supported the search for Woody over the past 3.5 months, it has been tremendous - thank you so much! Sorry Woody that we couldn't catch you :'(
Algernon TrustLisaP
Wow, thats great - thank you!
anna64
and also Kirtlington Park by the village hall.
anna64
I have postered both entrances to the quarry, the footpath that goes to Kirtlington Stud, Kirtlington Post office, Kirtlington Golf Club(the course backs onto the quarry), Aves Ditch footpath and the footpath from the Heyford/Kirtlington road that joins Aves Ditch (also a notorious local dogging spot!) and also Upper Heyford village notice board
Algernon TrustLisaP
Thank you Anna, he was believed to be in the WEstbury area for a while, outside Buckingham, then he seemed to not be visiting the scenting area & there were some possible sightings on the Caversfield area of Bicester, now Kirtlington altho there have been sightings back in Caversfield area too so it is possible he's moving between the two areas from mapping the sightings we've had!
anna64
Could he be following the canal from Banbury? Canal runs through the bottom of Kirtlington Quarry, he could cross at Pigeon Lock and then would be in the Tackley area. I will put some posters up in Kirtlington in a bit for you
Algernon TrustLisaP
Here is a more specific location for the sighting today "If you go to Kirtlington and turn by the green where the thatched house is, follow the road towards the canal and the quarry is on the right about half way down. There are two paths into it and the dog was by the second entrance in the wood there. Shouted out but no owner responded and the dog ran through the trees"
Algernon TrustLisaP

Possible sighting just now, in woods near Kirtlington Quarry, are waiting to find out exact location!
Shereen
Brilliant...lets hope you can catch up with him...if you can pin point ,try the feeding station again, but sounds like he is moving around most of the time..
Algernon TrustLisaP
Possible sighting near Kirtlington Polo ground again yesterday afternoon!
Algernon TrustLisaP
Thanks Liz, we'll check it out, the quarters are still there Claire, we've been in touch with people in the area :)
ClaireC
Hi Lisa, yes it is the same one. If I recall there are a lot of married quarters near that site and I'm not sure if they are still in use or not but there would be some good places for a dog to hide! If anybody local it may be that they could keep an eye and have a drive around.
*
Only german Shepard apparently not cross but thought I'd show you

There's a found one here http://www.animalwardens.co.uk/lost-found-dogs-search?sobi2Task=sobi2Details&catid=&sobi2Id=55581
Algernon TrustLisaP
Hi Claire, if this is the same as RAF Bicester it is already closed, I dont know area that well but some locals who do have been out postering & talking to people all week :)
ClaireC
LisaK, if there is still the RAF station at Caversfield (I know it is closing just not sure when) but you could put a poster of Woody into the Guardroom there and this would make a lot more people aware of him if this hasnpt already been done. Each Station has what is called Station Routine Orders and Woodys existence could possibly be put in there at the Notices Section and will be circulated throughout the Station. x
Algernon TrustLisaP
There have been several sightings of him in the Caversfield area, sadly mostly the people didnt know about Woody at the time & therefore the locations were quite vague
Littlebriton
Do we know exactly or could we find out where exactly in Caversfield as I live there and work from home
Algernon TrustLisaP
Lets hope :)
Barney 'n' Ozzie's mum
Now the weather's improved, there will be a lot more people out and about on motorbikes. There is a burger van at On Yer Bike on the A41, so would be worth asking them if they would be willing to display a poster. Also there is a small square at Winslow on the A413 where they seem to congregate, so another good place for a poster or two x

Sorry LisaK I noticed the man had put white on his sighting. I read this without looking at colour xx
Algernon TrustLisaP
Hi Carol, I have just seen your post & realise you mean the man who saw the dog on the A1 - thank you for this :)
Algernon TrustLisaP
Hi Carol, do you mean the man who saw the dog on A1 or by the Polo Club?
Carol
Have rung the man that sighted dog and he said it was a white Alsation type dog so not Woody xx
Carol
Hope it's woody xx

Someone on Woodys page has said a GSD has been found at Hingham woods. About an hour ago it was reported.
Algernon TrustLisaP
Thank you Shereen, and for all your help & advice x
Shereen
I have changed Woody's poster back to 'still missing' as plenty of posters printed now and also some were up in the area already,so thank you to whoever done these!

Good Luck Team Woody, you all really deserve this boy home soon, hopefully sooner rather than later please Woody.Stay safe.X
ClaireC
Good luck. Just waiting to hear some positive news on Woodly soon. xx
Algernon TrustLisaP
We have set up new scenting area in the Bicester area :) we are asking people that think they see him not to approach as he is scared & just runs & we dont want him to leave the area again, but if anyone can get a picture this would be fantastic :)
Algernon TrustLisaP
Hopefully we should be set up tomorrow :)
ClaireC
That's good Lisa. Let us know when its up and running. xx
Algernon TrustLisaP
Thanks Claire, lots of lovely people have gone out postering & people are telling us that there is already a good awareness in Bicester from yesterdays sharing efforts on FB & twitter! We are getting a scenting area set up all being well :)
ClaireC
Army military Graven Site, Arncott on A41. There is also RAF Camp, RAF Bicester on the road going out towards Finmere and Bicester Village/Tesco. This could be a good place to poster by the way. New housing complex being built around there as well. There is also the large shopping area on the opposite side of roundabout with Wyvale Garden Centre. Can't remember but might just be signposted as Garden Centre.Last edited: 2013-03-24 13:15:25 by ClaireC
LindaT
There is also a large military base just outside Bicester, and also an open prison, not sure of the name of that one though, but it might be worth letting them know as the land area is huge.
Algernon TrustLisaP
Police, Dog Warden & Vets in Bicester all aware of Woody :)
Algernon TrustLisaP
The locations & timings of the two sightings this morning would indicate that they at least were the same dog - it is perfectly feasible that Woody could have travelled here from Westbury where we aren't currently seeing any sign of him - if he's gone that direction, Bicester would be the first town he hit & this is where he'd hit it!
DogLostGlynafon
Have asked my family to keep an eye out for this dog as thry live in the area and there are 5 of them who all drive and work in different places in the county

Scenting is still being carried out in the Westbury area of the Brackley Road between Brackley & Buckingham, this is where there were many reported sightings a couple of weeks ago. Other areas where possible sightings have been reported that haven't been able to be ruled out are Byfield/Boddington - Silverstone/Towcester - Overthorpe. People are actively looking & postering these areas & the support is amazing!

We had a possible sighting reported at around 5pm today, as you go up the dual carriageway form junction 11 of M40, left to B4525, right to Overthorpe, there are some farm buildings along there & we had a report of an animal alone that was larger than a fox, please can we share with anyone in that area & if anyone is out walking in that area, please would you mind taking a few minutes to check any disused outbuildings please :)

Hi Rachel, your advice would be really helpful. Thanks. Do you know where your dog was hanging out? There is a FB page at https://www.facebook.com/FindWoody . It might be easier to post info there as more people check it. Thanks so much. Did you get your own dog back?
rachelmorris
Hi - our dog was lost in this area near green man pub and they were very helpful in our search - lots of strong food smells attracted our girl there - whole village, Syresham, next door were very helpful - we poster dropped and visited farms nearby and they are used to looking for lost dogs there :( Am forwarding to people i know in the Brackley area. Only in the area at weekends, but if you need some support in searching let me know. Having stalked the area for over a week looking for our girl know the area fairly well.
Safari
FB UPDATE: We are still scenting in the Westbury area until we can know for sure whether Woody has moved areas. Woody did live in Woodford Halse about 4 years ago & it is not uncommon for lost dogs to turn up at previous homes so if everyone can continue keeping an eye out in both areas please and call 07866298844 if you thingk you see him - thank you all :)
Caz
have taken posters to The Hatch boarding kennels & Needles Hall boarding kennels across the A43 to last possible sighting. Also left one at Croft Stores in Silverstone Village.
Gentleman @ Needles Hall said some one had mentioned a Shepherd type dog running around the area on its own a couple weeks back!! will keep his eye out when working in fields. He evidently used Dog Lost successfully when he lost his own dog.
Nickhoneys
Sorry forgot to add there are 2 cattery/kennells on the other side of road one is called brackley hatch kennells. They are very nice and would I am sure put up posters and tell their clients if you emailed them.
Nickhoneys
Hello I walk my dogs in this wood quite often. I shall try to get along there this afternoon with some posters. Its very very popular with dog walkers and horse riders. If it was woody spotted he is now in the NN12 postcode, and I am not sure how this works but would it be an idea to send alerts to this new postcode. Apologies if already done.
Caz
just after the green man pub is the slip road to Silverstone, few yards up that road is a wood where lots of dog walkers go might be worth putting few posters around that area, I'm housebound at the moment or would do it myself. Also across the A43 from pub are 2 boarding kennels!
Shereen
bump!...Good Luck!

It is 3 weeks today since Woody ran off from his home on a farm in Culworth, he chased after a rabbit & must have picked up another scent as he just kept on running, a microlite went up immediately but was unable to spot him. A week passed with no sign of Woody & then on the following weekend we started to get reports of a black & tan dog running through Dadford, over the next few days things were quite confusing a we were getting reports of possible sightings in different places at the same time, by the middle of the week we had established that there were 2 dogs, a black & tan lurcher running stray around Buckingham town as well as a nother dog thought to be Woody, sighted nearer to Westbury area. People have been amazing helping to spread the word, let us know where he has been seen & when. All of the sightings have been plotted on a map & the sightings are in areas along the Brackley Road from Westbury crossroads by the old pub to the junction past the Robin Hood pub to Radclive, although more recent sightings have been more around the area of the Robin Hood pub. We are taking advice from a professional dog catcher and the sightings are forming a triangle on the map which is common for a lost dog to establish this pattern. It is also common that once a dog has been lost in the wild for such a time that he will likely be scared off by people calling his name or to be approached by strangers. Therefore if anyone thinks they see Woody it would be great if they are able to call 07866298844 as soon as they can & if possible take a picture & keep an eye on where he goes until someone Woody knows can get there. Most of the time there is someone out in the area that can get to a sighting quickly. We have also started scenting in the area, under the guidance of a professional, this involves an area where scents of home are left along with food being left regularly. Once we can confirm that Woody has established a routine of taking the food regularly & he feels safe doing so, a humane trap can be introduced. Whilst everyone is very keen to have Woody home, rushing the scenting process could risk him being scared off & never going near a trap again. Woody's owners are overwhelmed by the care & support that so many people have shown & would like to pass on their heartfelt thanks to each & every one of you :)

Thanks. I believe the owners have done a lot of scenting there and continue to do so.Last edited: 2013-01-27 07:41:02 by Safari

TODAYS SIGHTINGS: If you stood on the opposite side of the road to the Robin Hood pub & looked at it with it in front of you, the sightings this afternoon were to the left, heading that way, also there have been 2 sightings of him at the crossroads by Water Stratford in evenings
Safari
Facebook page update: Thank you so much to everyone for today, so many people have been out looking, we came very close this afternoon with thanks to a couple who called us & waited by where he was seen, we had only been in that road a few minutes before, sadly he was quick & ran off. We are scenting in the area of the sightings with the advice of a professional dog catcher & if he is unable to be caught by his owners then this will allow him to be caught in an extra large trap, it does however take time to build this up so that he won't be scared of it.

The dog seen running in Kettering has been confirmed as a different dog which I believe was caught and returned to the owner. Woody has we think been sighted a few times on the route from Brackley to Buckingham and people in that area are being asked to leave food out to try and lure him in.
Safari
Report of a possible sighting from Friday night, by Boycott Farm Shop (MK18 5DJ), just off the crossroads by Water Stratford of the Brackley Road. If you live in this area could you please leave food out and let this page, or the facebook page, know if you think a dog is taking food. Thanks!

This is being posted on facebook along with Woody's picture - ‎*POSSIBLE sighting*...Dog running nr A14/A43 junction in Kettering today. Anyone that way?? x

Don't know if anyone in the area is able to take a look.
Safari
We have had sightings in the Westbury area of the Brackley Road all week, although we haven't had any today we believe this is because people haven't been out driving along the road due to the snow. The very nervous lurcher is also still out and about in Buckingham and local search coordinators have provided the following request to searchers... We have received the following advice from an experience dog catcher & this is why we're asking people to start leaving food out in key areas & not to try to catch "when trying to catch a nervous dog, do not keep moving towards it if it is moving away from you. Stop. If it stops too, and looks at you, then just wait. Don't stare or direct your body directly towards it. Be sideways on and low to the ground if possible. Whilst looking away from it, make quiet interesting noises, clicks etc, and, if it won't scare it off, throw little bits of food gently in its direction. If the dog continues to move away from you then leave it alone and report its location and time seen. Its scary and upsetting when dogs are out in the weather however failed attempts to catch a fearful dog may make it leave the area. Nervous dogs are easiest to catch by developing feeding stations and then, once used by the dog, setting a humane dog trap."

Hope snow will make tracking his prints easier, hopefully he is curled up somewhere warm. Good luck in finding him.

Great you are getting sightings. Hope he is home very soon. Stay safe Woody and slow down x

Shereen
Thanks Safari for the update....well done to everyone out there helping...great there are sightings now!...Good Luck for tomorrow .x
Safari
The dog seen nearer to Brackley is thought to be Woody, he has been seen around Westbury & Shalstone, a huge amount of people have been out this afternoon, searched thoroughly & checked all the places where we have had sighting reported but have been unable to find Woody, the search party has now disbanded for the day, any information, please contact Jayne on 07866298844
Safari
There are people out looking for Woody now in between Brackley & Buckingham, Allan is co-ordinating this so if you see any sign of Woody or are out looking, then please call Allan on 07878 912575 . Just got back from searching and spoken to police who are out looking on Moreton Road in Buckingham also. It definitely sounds like there are two dogs out running in the area at the moment. The one which looks like a whippet cross with the bandana and one that sounds like Woody. Good luck everyone. Maybe we'll get two dogs home for the price of one!

URGENT: sighting strongly believed to be Woody on Brackley Road (brackley to buckingham) one hour ago. Dog seen heading towards Cox Robinson site at MK18 1JD. Can anyone help look?
Safari
The dog matching Woody's description was seen this afternoon heading along the Brackley Road from Buckingham to Brackley, around Westbury. If Woody was near Westbury & is trying to make his way home, he may pass through Turweston, Whitfield, Halse, Helmdon, Greatworth, Sulgrave.
Safari
We have had reports of a possible sighting of Woody this afternoon, a lady driving along the Brackley Road to Buckingham saw a dog matching Woody's description running along the road toward Brackley.

Lots of great sharing of Woody's story on the internet and news pages but still sadly no sightings. Some good news though is that he will be mentioned on Banbury Sound radio tomorrow.

That's a shame:(

Sadly no luck last night. Descriptions suggest that the dog seen in Dadford / Gawcott is a whippet / whippet cross so owners don't believe it is Woody now. Searchers are checking for matches with other DogLost dogs. Also Woody has a facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/FindWoody ) and twitter at www.twitter.com/find_woody
Safari
Just rung the pub in Gawcott so as to get their email for the poster. They said that there was a little whippet that some people were trying to catch earlier. I hope that this isn't a dog mix up. :-(

FINGERS CROSSED ITS HIM AND HE CAN BE CAUGHT!
Safari
The dog running along the road in Dadford has been spotted further south in Gawcott. Someone tried to catch him for over an hour but lost sight when he ran onto the industrial estate in Gawcott. They feel confident that it is Woody. The owner has gone down to Gawcott now with his other dogs to try and find him. Looks like he's travelling South but still in MK18.

Added to twitter @missingpetsGB- Praying woody gets home quickly. xxxxx

Just had an alert that a black and tan dog has been seen running through Dadford - Postcode MK18. Trying to get more info. Is it worth sending alerts to volunteers in this area?

Thanks! For those wishing to help search, Woody was last seen heading at speed towards Banbury Lane which goes to Lower Thorpe Mandeville and Thorpe Mandeville. He took himself on a walk once before and was found at Culworth Grounds Farm which is the farm on the left before arriving at Lower Thorpe. The owners are obviously checking regularly at the farm. The other probability is he is circled round and heading up towards Woodford Halse which he knows well. He is normally very dog friendly but may be not so confident to approach if he is out of his territory. He is scared of high vis jackets. He could still be very local or he could have travelled a little so any area is worth searching. Hopefully as more people see the posters we will get a sighting so can narrow it down. Paws crossed.
Shereen
thanks for your help Safari..maybe consider Rambling clubs and cycling clubs...scouts, girl guides etc in the area?Last edited: 2013-01-11 20:23:34 by Shereen

Met with the owner today to help with leafleting - suggest we increase poster hand out as much as possible in the hope we might get some possible sightings. Today the owner kindly printed me some more posters and these went to: sulgrave pub and shop; thorpe mandeville pub; local postman; greatworth shop and school; Harley Equestrian and Saddlery; Middleton Cheney petrol station and several farms on route. The dog used to live in Woodford Halse so its worth considering it may head that way - the lady who now lives in his old house has also been informed and is going to search. I recommend we get more leaflets out to schools, horse riders / stables, farms and leaflet dog walking areas during peak times. The poster has also been shared on a lot of local FB pages but we will need to keep posting it so more people see it.

I have spoken with my farrier, postman, parcel delivery drivers etc... I just cant understand why his friend came back and not woody, so afraid he may have been taken by someone, he would jump into anyone's car.posters up now so hope someone somewhere has seen him.
