- It's good when animal cruelty and theft gets broadcast on TV. Rav Wilding highlighted one too earlier in the week. Xx

- How fab is that, so pleased, it breaks your heart to read all the sad stories on here but more poignant when it is an elder statesman like Tank, my old boy is 16 and I couldn't imagine what it would be like losing him.
Well done all xxxxxLast edited: 2013-01-11 19:03:31 by duffs54 - 2013-01-11 17:51 AlisonH

The owner has already been in touch with the Lincolnshire Echo and the Market Rasen local paper and they have been over to take reunited photo's of Tank. The Lincolnshire police have a neighbouhood watch site run by the PCSO's and they are always happy to circulate the details of stolen dogs.Last edited: 2013-01-11 17:54:52 by AlisonH - 2013-01-11 17:24 Unknown
- I have to say good for the Lincs police putting out a press release: Most unusual. If the story appeared in the local press, could local co-ordinaor please give them a call for a follow-up.

- When I spoke to the owner this morning at 9 he said it was a bloke that found him, and he had seen it on Facebook. But Ive been posting and sharing various links on Facebook of this site, the news one and everybody else has been doing the same. It would be impossible to see just which thread of repostings they saw. WHat is so very important is that they were done. EVerybody played their part in this by sharing, posting, tweeting, telephoning, and all the other wonderful things that you all did. All because... we're animal lovers xx Thank you all!

- This makes better reading than most novels. He was wandering down the middle of the road at Walkeringham, which is about 25 miles away from home. Cars were swerving around him and he was taken in at a local garage (i think). From there he went to the vets as the garage couldnt keep him, and then he stayed in a kennel overnight.
- 2013-01-11 10:31 Owl

- An elderly cream lab has turned up in Misterton near Gainsborough, exhausted and weak. He was taken to a vets, who then placed him at a kennels for the night. The finder has rung the owner and feels that this is Tank from the description. The owner isnt allowed to collect the dog until the morning when the kennels open. Now lets all hope that this is our Tank. Its going to be a very long night.....Last edited: 2013-01-10 21:38:55 by gsdjj

- YES YES YES....
- 2013-01-10 21:07 gsdjj
- I had a text from Tanks owner saying he'd just had a call from a bloke who has found the dog at Misterton, (near Gainsborough I think) The dog is very weak and exhausted, but alive. Now absolutely typically, I cant get hold of the owner to confirm the details. Grrr! I was trying to offer him a lift as obviously now he has no transport! I will post an update as soon as I have one.
- 2013-01-10 20:57 Nina
- Such a shame to think that at this age he may have been in the stolen van dumped and that he is rapidly slippong down the page and may not be noticed by doglost helpers/
- 2013-01-10 20:55 gsdjj
- wait... had a call he may be at Misterton... will update in a minute
- 2013-01-10 20:43 ClaireC
- Not too sure when Crimewatch is on TV again (and hopefullky Tank will have been found anyway) but as its a stolen vehicle with a police crime reference number how about trying to get this onto the TV? Maybe Nik Doglost might have a connection or further thoughts on this.
- 2013-01-10 20:22 Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
- I have emailed Market Rasen Racecourse, who have a meeting 17th Jan, to ask if they would kindly make their owners/trainers and racegoers aware. Obviously I am hoping Tank will be home by then, but just in case I think it would be a good place to put the word out.

- I am hundredes of mile away but have had a go at emailaing Angiam TV. Not sure how successful I have been. Wondering if PR at doglost can do anything to help the situation.
- 2013-01-10 17:19 ClaireC
- Has anybody tried to contact the BBC/ITV News to possibly get them to "air" him on the TV as he was in a stolen vehicle. Somebody may have taken him thinking he has been dumped as he is old.
- 2013-01-10 16:35 gsdjj
- Thanks jojo for your thoughts, no that loks more Golden retrievery. In fact thank you everyone for what you are doing. the owner is computer illiterate, so Im am doing this for him. Trouble is I am throwing my heart into it and it upsets me too. I cant imagine him surviving this cold, and no one would take him on as he's so lame, but he still has his big labrador heart <3

The local Market Rasen paper is coming over too and that will be in next week. Lincs Fm have put out an appeal and all the authorities have been informed.
