Sorry to see Max is missing. It could be that someone has been feeding him, and he thinks it is his new home for a while; this can happen. Have you tried putting something in the garden with his scent on, such as his toy, blanket, or food dish? Cats rely very strongly on scent. Paws, and fingers xd, and GOOD LUCK

Thanks Jayne, I have not received an email alert. If anyone else in the 'L' postcode has not received one can you please let us know?

Thanks skippy for posting the links I will pass onto his owner. There are a few cat rescues in the area but I do not know them all, catchat will most probably know them if they are not in the second link you have supplied. One of my own cats came from CPL which used to be near Croxteth Country Park but I do not think they are there now.

I've been liaising a lot with owner via messaging late last night until early hours and what you have advised is the advice I've given. All contact numbers for local rescues (who take in dogs and cats) have been given in the info/advice email and I'll also send an email to them as well.

Various size posters have been sent to local helpers who have been great in helping with local missing dogs/cats and some have already said they are going to help with the postering which is greatly appreciated. Thanks a million to you.

Hopefully once the word gets spread and houses are leaflet dropped someone will come forward who may be looking after him or know where he is. x

Catchat website has a great action plan of things you can or should do. Many of these will be the same as for finding a lost dog, - but link is here if there is anything you haven't thought of yet - http://www.catchat.org/lost.html

They also have a list of local rescues all of who might be contacted if a cat is found - http://www.catchat.org/adoption/mersey.html

I also assume you have contacted all your local vets - make sure they all get his details. Cats tend to travel a little less than dogs so lots of fliers through local doors can be really effective. Encourage neighbours to check garages and sheds to make sure he hasn't got himself shut in somewhere.

Good luck with your hunt - he might not be very far away. I work with a cat charity which recently helped to reunite a cat after 14 months - found safe and well in the same street he went missing from!

Various size posters now done and emailed to Susie. If anyone is able to help with the postering please let us know.

I've shared across fb, thank you to everyone who is sharing the details, it takes just that one person to see them and make that most important call. xxx

I've been liaising with Susie and asked her to register Max on DogLost. Will send the info/advice email. If picked up he would be taken to Liverpool RSPCA (Halewood). I've advised Susie visits the cattery at least once a week and leave a poster there which they will display in the cattery. x

Sorry to see that MAX is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (47346)
  • Obtain a missing poster by clicking on View poster above. Posters are very important so start postering now!
  • You will need to be logged in to upload photos, edit your dog's details, or add comments. You can add comments by clicking on Click here to add a comment.
  • Contact dog wardens, vets and local rescue centres, and in Scotland, the Police. Give a detailed description with any distinguishing marks/scars or send them a copy of your DogLost poster. You can find vets in your area here.
  • If your dog has been stolen inform the police immediately and obtain a crime reference number (CRN). Send an email to stolen@doglost.co.uk.
  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
  • Keep us updated by keeping your dog's page up to date and check for posts from helpers who may have suggestions and possible matches or sightings
  • DogLost is free and anyone asking for money to find or return your dog is not volunteering for us. If you are concerned about an approach you have received, please email admin@doglost.co.uk
