Very sad for you at having to let him go - for him it has saved him from a lot more pain and discomfort. - So so sorry to hear the devastating news about Wilbur, hope you find some comfort that he was found albeit too late and you were able to be with him at the end,
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together... R.I.P Wilbur - 2013-01-24 17:02 Baggy Dog

Nicki Montford Wilbur Update.....
He has a fractured pelvis, a ruptured diaphragm and one of his hips is beyond repair, will need a new ball and socket joint. His internal organs have been shunted to one side. It is likely that he received two severe blows. Not the best news in the world but the vet is prepared to attempt to 'put him back together again' I can only hope and pray that it all works out OK. If the surgery does go OK, we are looking at a very long recovery period
- 2013-01-23 12:01 Nickhoneys
- Im so so happy to hear Wibur is found. I live a couple of miles from Wilbur, saw his lost poster in my vets and he is the reason I joined Dog lost and have been looking for him whilst walking my dogs. Please update us on how he is.

- Wilbur has been found, injured but alive !! He was found this morning at the side of the road in Northampton. He has been re-united with his owner and is on his way to her vet. A massive thank you to everyone who was keeping a look out for him.
- 2013-01-20 13:04 Caz
- Has Wilbur got his own Facebook page?, if not can I suggest someone that knows how starts one for him, let's up the ante and spread the news further, let everyone know he is still missing!!
- 2013-01-20 10:12 Gill
- I am heading out to the Grafton Regis/Alderton area today to search for Wilbur. I will take his brother Romeo with me, it may prompt something in someone's memory.
- 2013-01-20 09:41 Gill
- There have been no sightings to date apart from the one and only on the day he went missing.
- 2013-01-20 09:39 Noo Noo
- Hi owner is a friend. Have asked if she has any updates and offered to pass details on. The last message I saw was he'd crossed the a5 but has possibly gone back across. No other sightings as yet. X
- 2013-01-19 23:11 Caz
- have been driving around the lanes to Grafton Regis every day, asking everybody I see, would be helpful to know if there has been any sightings or calls to owner about Wilbur! can anyone in contact with her to find out?? this way people that want to help find him will have something to go on.
- 2013-01-19 20:42 Jollie32
- I am in Towcester and go running regularly with my dog. Do we know whereabouts Wilbur ran off and the best places to start looking? I was going to head up that way tomorrow but wondered the best place to start?
- 2013-01-18 22:39 Caz
- Do we know if owner has had any calls in response to posters? Are there any searches planned?
- 2013-01-17 13:11 Caz
- Just in from driving around the back lanes towards Grafton Regis, spoken to several walkers & security @ Pury Business Park, they will keep eye out, also left poster with Guy that has burger van in layby on A5 as he there very early in mornings ( the smell of grilling sausages & bacon is very inviting), poster also left @ Pets R Us in MK. Seen a poster in Towcester Post Office assume made by owner can we find out what areas she has covered with these? A good point was made on this one in that people often thinks Wilbur is a Labradoodle, have to admit I looked twice!
- 2013-01-17 09:51 Julie Br
- Happy to help with any searches at the weekend. If there is anything I can do let me know. I could print some more posters at work if anyone has the time to poster more areas. I live in Towcester but travel along this stretch of A5 to and from work.
- 2013-01-16 22:07 Caz
- If he did cross A5 then he would be heading Grafton Regis direction, unless he crossed back then he could be heading Buckingham direction.
- 2013-01-16 20:45 Angus
- Can we try to establish which way he crossed the A5 - Did he cross heading towards Buckingham or towards Grafton Regis ? - I checked kennels at Forest lodge today he is not there but they are aware
- 2013-01-16 14:17 pixies peeps
- Have emailed the poster to towcester racecourse.

- I walked my two dogs a little while ago, parked up in Alderton and walked along the bridleway and then across the fields - I did call for him but no sightings. There is still snow lying and didn't spot any pawprints for a dog this size.
- 2013-01-15 13:01 Unknown
- Thanks Caz.
- 2013-01-15 12:58 Caz
- just back in from postering, had very limited supply owing to printer running out of ink, poster left at Algernon Trust, Wakefield Estate, Roman Way Garden centre, Super Sausage Transport Cafe,BP Garage on A5, Beech House Vets, Towcester Vets & Tesco in Towcester. Tried to access Towcester Racecourse but drive to icy for my little car! Also took slow drive thru lanes around Paulersbury, Whittlebury, Pury End, Alderton & Grafton Regis spoke to couple local dog walkers who will look out for Wilburt. Has owner contacted MK dog warden? Sorry can't help with any searches due to disability but can help with transport of searchers if needed. If I can get some ink cartridges in time will take a drive to Bury Mount later as it's a local dog walker hotspot!

- Will get posters to all you have mentioned in the morning
- 2013-01-14 21:58 sas2506
- Also, please please ask them to visit Forest Lodge Kennels at Salcey Forest. Just calling them isn't always enough, so they should go and look round incase he has been picked up by the Dog Warden.
- 2013-01-14 21:56 sas2506
- Its Paulerspury not bury - and I am happy to contact Jane at the Algernon Trust (Whittlebury). I can also post on a local dog walking site as we have several members in the Potterspury/Paulerspury area. If hes croseed the A5 heading from the village, he could well end up on the A508 towards Roade/Grafton Regis areas. If you could get a poster over to Jane in Whittlebury that would be ace, and also maybe the vets in Towcester? I know they also have a large animal vet centre in Paulerspury, just off the A5 by the Petrol Station - maybe you could put one there as well (also owned by Towcester Vets).
- 2013-01-14 20:36 Caz
- Just a thought, as he may have crossed the A5 he could have crossed the border into Bucks area, will take poster to the garage on the A5,Wakefield Estate, Garden Centre, Fish farm & has the local rescue centre in Whittlebury been contacted? Tel no 858238. they have dog walkers going out every day, if not I can get a poster to them tomorrow as well.

- Sue, owner is not used to computers, Could you please use a similar off the database to get the alerts out. Thanks x

- I’ve found that it helps to print out an A4 sheet of paper cut into business-card size slips, each with brief details and your phone number on. Give them to all the local dog walkers, postmen etc. you meet. Then if someone has news when they’re out and about they don’t need to find a poster or log on to the site to contact you. Many people won't recognise a Curly so hoping a photo is put on here asap. Good luck, I hope he's home soon.
- 2013-01-14 13:36 Unknown
