It is with a very heavy heart that I am updating you to say that Max has crossed to Rainbow Bridge, His body was found approx 1 mile from home by a family friend.

My condolences to Max's family at this sad time :(, RIP Max x

Message sent to me from Max's owners

Been around there today and done all we can. No sign of a dog I'm afraid. We went to a vets just off the bromwich road in Haulgh, they put up his poster and took all our information, spoke to lots of people to ask them to keep an eye out, so lots of people are looking for him.

I’ve found that it helps to print out an A4 sheet of paper cut into business-card size slips, each with brief details and your phone number on. Give them to all the local dog walkers, postmen etc. you meet. Then if someone has news when they’re out and about they don’t need to find a poster or log on to the site to contact you. Hope he's back soon as he needs his medication.

We have had an alert of a sighting and the person who thinks they have seen him has posted the following:

I'm sure I've just seen this dog wandering round the Haulgh area on its own

I turned car round and it disappeared sorry but I'm sure it was him

I've rang both registered numbers and they go onto answerphone. Other have also tried. Really hope it is Max. x

Max's family have been to the pubs in Over Hulton with no luck unfortunately :(

Any news on Max? Sorry I'm not close to the area to help. Have looked up a few pubs in Over Hulton....couldnt find that many on google but a couple as follows...no email addresses for me to send poster though:

I have had some information to say a dog similar to Max has possibly been found at a local pub to Over Hulton, If anybody is in that area is there any chance you could approach the pubs there with posters / leaflets and ask about (Sorry dont know which pub or how many there is )

There are woods and fields in front of the house, we have all been out to as far as he can walk and shouted, whistled and looked under every bush, no sign. Max went missing at 10'o'clock friday 11th of January, my mum let him out to wee in the garden (its an open garden but he's never ran off as he's a wimp and hates cars and the road). After half an hour he hadn't knocked to come back in as he usually does- and the search then began. We fear he could have been taken as we can't find him around anywhere, he's never gone anywhere in all these years. He went missing from Manchester Road, Over Hulton.

Notice where lost it states Hulton Park. Has Max gone missing from home or on walk. Husband knows area well, happy to meet up with owner and check out the area with spaniels, with land owners permission. Paula Lilford Animal Welfare and NWESSR volunteer. Happy for my contact details to be passed on to Max's owner.
