- I know how hard Rob & Allison worked to find their girl and it breaks my heart to see this awful outcome. Allison, thank you for letting me know even though you must have been in shock and are now grieving terribly. Poppi's journey to heaven was just one moment in time, but all the moments she had with you were many! And, something else that I forgot to say to you: when its time to go to heaven, some dogs have to go without their family at their side because they love them so much that they wouldn't be able to leave if they were. That is how much Poppi loves you! Love never ends. Poppi went to heaven whilst on a happy walk, doing her favourite thing, secure in the knowledge she was with her loving family, human and canine, forever. From what you told me, I suspect that was the case and you are right, it would have been very quick and God was there to catch her. She'll be watching over you now; just whisper her name and she'll be there. God bless you all. With love, Kim xxx

- Hi everyone,
I'm very sorry to say that Poppi's body was found this morning at the edge of the river in Wanstead Park, with a small injury to her head. We don't know what happened or how long she had been there, but we believe it was quick, and she didn't suffer for long. We can't express how thankful we are to everyone for all your help, advice, support and kind words. It means a lot to our whole family, and we really, really appreciate everything you've all done for us. Thank you.Last edited: 2013-01-20 13:25:45 by Rob Trimble - 2013-01-19 20:34 B30
- Kim please put Poppi on the CMW list for an advert

- It is possible Poppi has been stolen. If anyone has any information on two men seen watching dogs in the park or any vans in the area, please, please let us know and pass the word around. We are not saying this is the case, but there is a possibility. Please everyone, let's make this sweet girl so famous everyone knows about her and she becomes too hot to handle.

- Is it possible she made it over the North Circular to Ilford area? I think there is a footbridge near there
- 2013-01-19 17:12 Tara H
- Hopefully someone has just taken her in for now. They may see a poster and call you. Good luck

- Thank you for all the kind thoughts and massively useful advice. Still no news. Our daughters have set up a Facebook page for Poppi so we can get the word out as widely as possible - here's the link if you want to add her http://www.facebook.com/poppi.trimble.5?group_id=0

- Have made a report at BDCH as you didn't appear to have one. Ref number 297823. Sadly no matches at present but we will let you know if we hear anything.

- I am not very familiar with this area, but have sent email & texted owner with advice. You helpers are so fantastic out there, thank you!
Rob, spaniels are amazing at surviving and hiding, I have sent you scenting instructions. Scent to where she knows, i.e. back to car park or place you lost her and leave a poster right there. Make sure the scent stays safe in the park not across any roads if dangerous and Poppi will follow the scent. Lead her to a safe place. They do usually come back to where lost if they can. You also need to check for any dangers around in case she's hurt herself and is lying low. They often wait till they have healed enough to pop back up and find their way back. If she's just lost the scent will help her. As its snowy, repeat the scent daily. Keep going - you really can do this! Come on Poppi, pop up now precious. x - 2013-01-18 21:35 BBKM
- Good luck for tomorrow, hope she is sighted and you have Poppi home safe with you. Posters do really help so get as many up as possible. Dogs can travel far fast or they can lay low for a while and not come out until hungry. Check all used/unused barns, sheds, stables etc in the area where she went missing. She may have a cozy den somewhere. Let farmers in the area know she is missing. Lost dogs usually travel dusk and dawn. Stay safe Poppi but be seen x

- Thank you everyone for the kind words and advice, and for looking out for Poppi! Still no sightings, but we're keeping our fingers crossed. We'll be out in the morning with more posters, which will hopefully help.
We're in forest gate, across the flats, so unless Poppi makes it to the flats by chance and recognises how to get home from there, I doubt she'll be heading in any particular direction. She doesn't know Wanstead Park very well. We lost her by the eastern end of the park, on the path which runs between the river and the pond. Thanks for all your help. - 2013-01-18 17:22 Jo
- No sign of her this morning but mentioned her to other dog walkers, about to go out again for a street walk. Which side of the park do you live as this could give a clue as to which way she may have headed? I will walk over on the flats tomorrow. Hope Poppi is home soon

- Definately get some posters out and about. I dont know whereabouts you are, but also ask in some local shops if they will put some up. As they have a lot of people going in out all the time.If someone have taken her in they may see the poster and phone you
Here is the Newham Dog wardens number 0208 586 97 39
It may be worth also contacting Redbridge council as well as its close
Good luckLast edited: 2013-01-18 11:56:58 by Tara H - 2013-01-18 10:58 Baggy Dog
- I’ve found that it helps to print out an A4 sheet of paper cut into business-card size slips, each with brief details and your phone number on. Give them to all the local dog walkers, postmen etc. you meet. Then if someone has news when they’re out and about they don’t need to find a poster or log on to the site to contact you. Hope this pretty girl is home soon.
