Any more news on dear Pegs ??
becky383
Sorry for the delay in reply we did look at Lucy on the GSD site but it isnt her although she is very similar. Pegs is only 2. Pegs will now be in season or be coming out of season so if everyone can keep an eye out as it may bring her out of hiding if she is still lost instead of stolen.
themacs6
PLEASE COULD THE OWNERS OF PEGS LOOK AT THIS DOG PLEASE,I think this dog lucy's markings are very similar and is in the same region up for rehoming.

So glad that Wilkinsons are helping you in this way, that's fab. Lets hope the animal psychic is wrong and she is still very much alive, I am always on the look out for her and will not stop until she is home. Come on Miss Pegs let's have you home xx
becky383
We would like to thank everyone at Wilkinsons distribution in Worksop who have helped and are helping to look for Pegs, they are keeping an eye out on there CCTV and have sent an email to around 1500 employees to keep an eye out for Pegs but there has definitely not been a sighting or presence of a dog at the moment. We had seen that people were using people who communicate with animals and have gone down this route but the lady who we used seems to think that Pegs was stolen by someone in a white van and is no longer alive. But we are still hopeful that she is alive and is with someone who may not be aware we are looking for her. If people can please keep sharing and keep looking. We are just hoping and praying that she comes home. Thankyou again for everyones help as we appreciate all the help, kind words and messages.
Lisa
I have just shared on my Facebook as I know someone who works at wilkinsons in worksop.

Can you find Wilkinsons on line - I wonder if you could e-mail their personnel department and explain the situation and ask if you could go in ? Just a thought. Come on Pegs we need you home. Julie x
becky383
There was a sighting on Friday night in Wilkinsons Distribution centre they have a woods and a driver saw her in there. Does anyone know anyone from Wilkinsons in Worksop. Im not sure how to go about organising a search around there as it is high security.

Hi Becky, I was just thinking of Pegs and wondering if there was any news....did anything come of the possible connection to Holbeck ??? We were really hoping it was her stealing from that house in the village. We will be out and about in the area over the weekend and will keep looking for your lovely girl. Take care......
becky383
She is still missing but were still looking and keeping everything crossed that she comes home.
Liz
Sorry to see she is still missing, have re-posted and shared on the Worksop Guardian (local newspaper) facebook page, sending love xx
Nigel and Cathy
Hi Becky that sounds really promising. I have just had a look through Holbeck but nothing to report but as you say she is probably keeping a low profile during the day and coming into the village at night. I went into Dukeries Garden Centre pet shop and they were wondering if you could drop a few posters into them as they are only across the road from Holbeck and are happy to display them for you. Fingers and paws crossed here for you all x
becky383
Hi Owl, My mum has done that. There is a lady in holbeck that thinks Pegs keeps stealing her bird feed at night we were wondering if you and wisper would be able to see if you could track her around there. The lady thinks she comes back daily.
Lankeela
As with Rico, pleased there have been sightings and hope she is soon back with you.
DogLostOwl
Have you also told your local Horsewatch to put the word around for riders to look out?
DogLostOwl
Becky, it would be an idea to notify gamekeepers and park wardens at Clumber and Thoresby estates as well, as she could get to either of those from Welbeck estate. We did find them very helpful when we were tracking Nigel and Cathy's spinone back in 2010. Can't do anything today but should hopefully be able to come tomorrow and try to get a direction from the Creswell Crags sighting if you like.
becky383
A lady has just called me and says that she was seen on Welbeck estate on Saturday night. She was trying to get on the road so the game keepers chased her off but couldnt catch her she ran off towards Holbeck. There has also been a sighting this morning near Creswell Craggs so we dont think she is in Whitwell Woods anymore. We have put poster up all over the Holbeck and Creswell Craggs area and have informed coloured trecking who hack out in that area.
becky383
Hi Elki Thankyou we are grateful for any help there has been a possible sighting this morning in Creswell Craggs we have been looking but had no joy if you are still free to help Friday / Saturday call my mum on 07967757272 and she will give you as much information at possible. Hopefully she will be home before then. But Thankyou again
DogLostOwl
Whitwell Wood is on the A619 between Worksop and Barlborough, on the right as you travel from Worksop. There is a huge layby with a snack bar. If you haven't been there before, it is a good idea to print off a satellite map of it from Google to take with you. It is a maze of paths and I still get lost in it sometimes! Give owner a call before you go with your dog as she has Pegs' toy with scent on.
g.s.d elki
Hi Becky sorry to see Pegs hasn't shown herself. I live in Retford, could you tell me where abouts Whitwell woods are. Not really familiar with the area. I work nights but my husband and myself would beable to help look for her on Friday pm and Saturday if not found. We would bring our female GSD along if that would be of any help --she tracks well if she picks up a scent. I hope you find her before though, goodluck in your search and wish We could be of more assistance.
Nigel and Cathy
Hi Becky, so pleased you have more posters up. I took one into the little cafe van in the lay by this morning and had another wander but no luck. Keep everything crossed and hopefully she will show herself. I am off work for a couple of days so will pop up when I can. When our dog went missing for a week I became very disheartened at times but we DID get him home so I am hoping you have the same luck !!!
becky383
My mum have been in Whitwell woods today and put posters up on every junction hopefully everyone that ventures in there will now see them. But they didn't come across her just a giant badger set.
Nigel and Cathy
We have spent the afternoon looking in Whitwell Wood for Pegs but no sightings I'm afraid. Would strongly suggest that more posters are put up in the wood as a few people we met had no idea she was missing. Will really try to get back up there in the next couple of days....come on Pegs lets have you home !!!
DogLostOwl
Unaccompanied GSD sighted running around in Whitwell Wood on Friday. Owners searched extensively yesterday in the snow and found fresh pawprints of the right size which went all around and back and forth in a remote part of the wood. There were no human footprints anywhere in that area. I am bumping to top of site for this sighting.Last edited: 2013-01-27 11:44:47 by Owl
DogLostOwl
Glad you have some more expert noses on the case. I am hoping that the warmer weather forecast for Sat and Sun will bring a lot of people out walking and cycling, so more chance of her being seen.
becky383
Since Wispa picked her scent up a lady who has tracker GSD's has been in the wood but hasnt managed to pick her up but they are going to look around the surrounding fields tomorrow. We are just keeping everything crossed.
Deb4gsd
well that's a relief of a possible sighting in the area which Wispa picked up her scent!! fingers crossed more sightings soon and get her back home :)probably out on an adventure!
DogLostOwl
There was a possible sighting on Tues eve in a field, and that is right on the route which Wispa and I followed when tracking Pegs today. She appears not to have been stolen but to have escaped, possibly snagged an ear in the process as there was blood, and then gone on a hunting trip. She has a heavy coat, doesnt' mind the cold and can catch rabbits. Our main worry is the road by Whitwell Wood, so we hope she stays in there until she is found. It is a huge wood with a network of footpaths, and borders on to a golf course on the other side. There are many dog walkers so someone may see her.
Deb4gsd
I keep checking for updates on her and sharing her details! Hope she's found very soon, I know how I would feel if it was one of my dogs! such a shame no positive sightings of her to work on!
becky383
We have had a sniffer dog following Peg's scent today from home were she was last seen. And it has taken us all around the back fields through whitwell and to whitwell woods but couldnt go any further so we know she was heading in that direction she must either be in whitwell woods or in Worksop so everyone please keep sharing and looking for her. We are keeping everything crossed she is still fighting to get home. If you see her she is friendly so dont hesitate to approach her.
Deb4gsd
Thanks Lizzy! I had mentioned it on the FB page yesterday! I know it's not a pleasant thing to have to do, but at least hopefully can eliminate this poor dog from being a possibility! someone on FB has tried contacting the dog warden in the area but can't get through to enquire about the dog!
Unknown
I have spoken to becky re the deceased dog.
becky383
We Still havnt had any news regarding Pegs we are just keeping everything crossed that she turns up.
Unknown
Thanks Deb4gsd I will speak to the owner in the morning.
Deb4gsd
at the moment on FB there is a post being shared, trying to find out if anyone is missing a GSD which, very sadly, has been spotted, deceased on the side of the A50 Chellaston end! hoping this is not Peggs, but by car, it's an hour away and with the possibility of being stolen, this is something that maybe the owner needs to look into and hopefully eliminate the possibility of this poor baby being Peggs! :(
Unknown
People are out postering at present. Have advised him to contact Carlton Forest Dog Rescue and also local vets and Railtrack and the Highways Agency. Owner could try local radio and check sites on the internet.

Sue, could you send out scenting info please. Thank you. x

Sorry to see that PEGS is missing.
  • If your dog is microchipped please let the microchip company know that your dog is missing and check that all details are up to date.
  • Owners targeted by a malicious hoaxer demanding money for the return of their dog should phone the police on 101 immediately and contact admin@doglost.co.uk
  • A photograph of your dog is essential for the website. If you have not already uploaded one, please do so by clicking on Update details. Alternatively you can email it to admin@doglost.co.uk quoting the dog's DogLost ID number: (47706)

  • If your dog is picked up and taken to rescue kennels, it can be legally re-homed after seven days. Visit rescue centres in person and do not rely on checking by phone alone. Other people may not recognise your dog by your description, so give them a DogLost poster.
