- So glad Kizzy is home. Such a shame owners had to pay to get her back but at least she is back where she belongs. Thank goodness they postered far and wide! Poster power works.

- Kizzy has been reunited.
Bought by a couple fopr £300 who then saw missing posters in Ashford. Owners had to reimburse money they had spent.(Presuming they did 'buy' Kizzy )

- Have we got any news about Kizzy?
- 2013-01-25 17:26 ClaireC
- Nina, what a brilliant idea re Countryfile. Perhaps NIK PR might have a contact(s) to get this onto the programme. Matt Baker would be a good one and of course he is on the One Show. Paul O'Grady another good one to try as Lisamell has said especially as he now has connections with Battersea. How about a try Nik PR?
- 2013-01-25 17:16 LisaMell
- Wouldn't it be fantastic if someone like Paul O Grady would do a 30 min crime-watch style piece every week with Dog lost.I have to say the police officer I dealt with was fantastic and went to the trouble to knock on the door and say thank you. If I was 20 years younger .....Anyway that wont bring Kizzy home.Fingers and all crossed for a good outcome.xxxx

- I live in Buckinghamshire and I know that my next neighbour a policeman, is working alongside other police areas to get any stolen dog to its proper owners. Sadly dog theft is big business to the low lifes.

- I do think the police are doing alot of work 'behind the scenes' on these cases. Not all the informaton will be made available on a public forum, so fingers crossed they will be able to help recover the dogs, and bring those responsible to justice. The police cannot charge anyone who has not actually committed a crime and I should think it is as frustrating for them to have to let them go as it is for us, I do believe in this case a vehicle and reg were noted. Don't want to say anymore than that, as it is not my place to, but a family member has told me this. Poor dogs, far too many going missing, especially in this area at the moment.

- As LisaMell has said. The police found cutters, headcollars etc in the back of the dodgy looking scumbags vehicle. It couldn't be more obvious what they were up to yet they couldn't be charged. So they've gone off and stolen somebody elses beloved pet. Sorry but as far as the police are concerned, two words come to my mind and they are rockets and backsides!

- Most of the number plates are false...what we need to do is find at least one of these dogs then workback to how they were "obtained" the best way to do this is as much publicity as possible and hoping for that one phonecall that we will get...the police are looking into everything we pass onto them.
- 2013-01-25 15:26 Ellie
- I know that actual vehicle numbers have been given to the police as well as makes and colours on a few occasions. Some of them last year yet nothing seems to have come about it.It makes me angry that we pay our taxes and rates and yet these scumbags seem to be getting away with this epidemic ( an excellent word LisaMell) of heartbreaking thefts!
- 2013-01-25 14:57 Jayne - Founder Doglost.
- CJ our police co ordinator is following all these reports and is liasing directly with the police forces involved...Nik our doglost PR person is doing a great job on the news front with dozens of TV,Radio and national paper coverage recently...and more to come...resulting in possible leads that are all being looked into...but cannot be reported on a public site.
- 2013-01-25 14:45 LisaMell
- Totally with you Ellie....Its an absolute epidemic.I have to say though I reported a van to our local police that was hanging around a very 'horsey' part of my village and I was concerned as they were very dodgy looking and they did do a stop and search and sure enough bolt cutters, headcollars etc in the back. No eveidence to charge them but it warned them back to their neck of the woods if you get my drift!! but maybe if the police were generally more proactive about stolen dogs and dodgy people hanging around maybe more of our stolen loved ones would find their way back home.
- 2013-01-25 12:34 Ellie
- Sorry if this question is a bit cheeky, but do we know whether the police are doing anything about all of these stolen dogs? We have had various sightings of vans and four wheel drives but nothing ever seems to become of it. I'm not sure whether others are feeling like me, but isn't it time that the police did something positive about all of these thefts !?!Last edited: 2013-01-25 12:35:23 by Ellie

- Lissy yes sounds like the same dog, if you can copy and paste the link that would be great, I can then add a photo.

- There's a picture of a stolen cocker from Rye doing the rounds on FB - stolen from its kennel in Peasmarsh, owner's mum witnessed theft? Is this the same dog? Can't see a white chest on the pic but it might be hidden by the angle it's been taken... not sure how to link it, will try...

- Just spoke to the owner, his mum saw a man steal her from her outside kennel...another working dog!...police have been informed owners are spreading the word within the community they are also working on getting a photo online, owner has no Internet. Kizzy isn't chipped but is spayed. She has a black shaggy coat with a white stripe on her chest and her tail is docked.Last edited: 2013-01-24 11:21:27 by Lorraine
