- To the wonderful people on doglost Maisie was ccaught by a wonderful couple this morning. Maisie was sleeping on their door way and they managed to trap her and put a lead on her.. she is back home and is enjoying lots of cuddles and fuss. Thank you all for your help. This is a wonderful service.

- eblacklock, have sent you a text.
- 2013-02-01 20:08 Moogie - Area Volunteer, Cornwall
- Could you contact local dog warden to see if they can set up a trap for her. Not sure if RSPCA will help but worth a try. Some farmers may own traps so worth asking around. It's good there's been further sightings of her and that she's looking well. Get some food down where she's been seen and something that belongs to her. BBQ might help entice her in.
- 2013-02-01 17:49 linz
- no luck with her sister then
- 2013-02-01 16:45 Eblacklock
- thanks for all your advice so far, we have tried all these approaches but she is like a wild dog and has no inclination to come for food or a human. The dog search lady suggested getting hold of a fox trap, does anyone have any advice on this or where to obtain one? She does seem to be staying the same area but this covers fields and woods over quite a large area...

- Try lying down and whimpering. She will be inquisitive and quite likely to approach. Have some food in hand and slip lead over same arm. Good luck I so hope she is caught very soon.

- shared again today - i spoke quickly to the Rescue Centre today whilst there, the man said that in Maisie's favour she was used to living outside before she went to them so will be used to the weather which will help her now etc Good Luck i wonder if she is lying low until she gets hungry etc xx

- no we looked in the fields this morning but did not see anything.. left food out and nothing has been eaten... no spottings this morning :(
- 2013-01-31 09:24 LoopyLurcher
- Oh blast I was hoping it was Maisie. However the more people who have her pic the better! Has anyone seen her this morning?
- 2013-01-31 08:55 Eblacklock
- Spoken to the chicken owner - he said there is another collie that runs around that area who belongs to one of the farms - that was the dog he saw :( covered the whole of st mellion village with flyers so that they can confirm whether they have seen Maisie or not - she is distinctive with her mostly white colouring.
- 2013-01-30 19:14 LoopyLurcher
- Staked out the graveyard til it was too dark to see but no sightings, however she may have been seen by chicken owner next to it...

- Can a new alert go out to helpers in this area please due to this sighting?
- 2013-01-30 10:28 Moogie - Area Volunteer, Cornwall
- Did you contact K9 search as soon as she was sighted? Take something that belongs to hers or the other dog she's close to and leave it near to where she was spotted. Also put some food down too....smelly sardines or something. BBQ in the area, anything to keep her there. Good luckLast edited: 2013-01-30 10:30:32 by Moogie - Area Volunteer, Cornwall

- thank you all for the advice. Once we get another sighting of Maisie - woodside have said they can bring Daisy May out... but we haven't had a sighting since 9am yesterday now :(
- 2013-01-28 23:51 Teddys Mum - Area Volunteer, West London
- I was involved in a similar situation. A newly rescued, very nervous unsocialised dog did a runner. We enticed her out of a hedgerow with another dog that she had become attached to. It worked so well. So if you can get Daisy-May, that may well be the only easy way and fast way to get her. Hope it works, good luck.

- I thought i recognised Maisie! I am a volunteer there and walked them both together just the once, both very nervous, unsocialised dogs i loved them both, they really stuck together i held one in each hand on their leads but they both insisted on walking on the same side together and staying close, i think having Daisy May there is the answer here, well done and i am sending you all so much luck in finding this dear little dog asap x

- Hi Eblacklock, you called me earlier with your email address. I've just sent you the info to help catch Maisie. Contact number for K9 search dogs is also on there. Please let me know if you need any more info and I'll try to help. I'm circulating on Facebook and twitter. Please let us know asap if she's spotted again.

- Been driving round looking/asking/telling but expect she's holed up somewhere dry as the rain is hissing down. I don't have a printer so can't hand out flyers/posters which is frustrating. Hope she's found safe soon poor little girlie.
- 2013-01-28 16:47 Spindle
- Try not chasing her, watch from distance with binoculars. If you can keep her in one place you can then start putting down food regularly.
- 2013-01-28 14:54 Eblacklock
- They wanted to home them separately in the end as Maisie was a bully to her sister - would be great if can get her an area and get Daisy May back out. She may also respond to girls voice who spent time with Maisie in woodside but could not get a spotting of her when they were around
- 2013-01-28 14:53 Eblacklock
- Hi, Thats correct Maisie is from Woodside. We had her sister out yesterday and she can come out again tomorrow. The problem is she is running away from everything that scares her so we can't keep her in the same spot to get Daisy May (sister) close enough to her...
- 2013-01-28 14:48 dstaylorhawkins
- Hi i may be wrong , i think i recognise this little dog from Woodside??? if i am right she had a mate - a sister i think?? The 2 were there together to be rehomes, if i am correct, the other dog could be good to borrow to take with you (if possible) when looking for Maisie, they were so close, hoping to be rehomed together. Apologies if i have this wrong and good luck
- 2013-01-28 14:16 LoopyLurcher
- Has anyone got any ideas how to calm & catch a dog running scared & crossing main road without spooking her further? Off out to help in an hour... I've suggested having smelly treats & sitting down & calling softly when she's spotted & will be taking my boy Zephyr who is a gentle & reassuring hound.
- 2013-01-28 10:41 LoopyLurcher
- Left a voicemail for owner, forwarded to someone else in area & will try to get out looking after work. Poor Maisie must be so scared! Hope she's found soon
