- Hi all I'm lexis owner Ashley, finally got myself on here :-) just want to say such a big thank u to everyone that helped. There was so much support from everywhere it was really amazing x x x lexi is doing really well a bit stiff and bruised but had a good scrub in the bath Nd is looking beautiful ( a little thin but I'm fattening her her). Thank u to u all without all your help and support I wouldn't have lexi home snuggled nice and warm with her sister right now more then likely snoring away :-) x x x x x x

- Nowt to do with me, it was the posters (and obviously the people who put them up)it was great Ashley had phone call after phone call with sightings, the local PCSO, postmen, people at bus stops and locals all calling in or pointing the way, awesome. I don't think there is a person in that area of Basildon who does not know about Lexi.

- SIGHTING UPDATE
Owners and dog warden have seen Lexi (within a few feet - so close but yet so far!) but she is bolting. As of 2.45pm she was on Coultard Road, East Mayne area.
Any people that can have a look around it would be VERY much appreciated as she's near a busy road. Please just keep a look out and DO NOT try to catch Lexi - please call owners or dogwarden if you see Lexi. The owners are out searching with their other dog.
Come on Lexi - give in and let them catch you!
THanks everyone. xLast edited: 2013-02-05 15:16:23 by Jo - Area Co-ordinator, Essex - 2013-02-05 14:53 hollys mum

- Hi all. Just update on whats happening, Ashley is going to be popping out this afternoon to lay some scent down around mopsies park with home dust etc. and to check that area with the babies for a few hours. We are thinking about getting people to go over and search craylands tomorrow afternoon after 2/3 as we have our twins picked up by grandparents then and it gives us more freedom to explore safely. I am going to be recalling all vets, schools, council for highways and also calling the railways,. If anyone has another places they think I should call please let me know. Once again thank you for all your support.

- Scenting - use the advice sheet I sent. You don't need to just use cloth - use your own scent! Read the instructions I emailed you now! If you need help call - you can do this! Keep going - you are doing well! x

- Re: An organised search. If one is organised please let me know as I am only too willing to assist. I have been out with my greyhound a few times but it's knowing where to focus that's the problem. I have a feeling that Lexi is very close to being found. Members of www.greyhoundhomer.co.uk are being kept informed.
- 2013-02-05 06:19 kay_cee_80
- I'm still walking The Fremnells, Pattiswick Square, Beeleigh East, Frypha Hall fields, Danbury Down, Quilters Straight, etc everyday with my greyhound & Lurcher looking for Lexi.
I have a spare Martingale collar & lead and some food in my pockets just in case she's hungry enough to come up to me and my hounds. I just haven't seen her at all though. :(
If you do an organised search of the area, count me in and let me know. - 2013-02-05 00:11 cooperthfc
- Sorry Spangles I forgot to add the rest of message regarding the scenting, we have sorted out some wrags to cut up and place out, I cant believe how close she is to home, She is usually quite laid back and waits for her food to be put down as our other greyhound likes to get in quickly for the stuff thats being sorted. I must say she does like a bin bag now and again though so old leftover food after its gone quite is a big possibility. so she might end uo at these places late on. x
- 2013-02-05 00:04 cooperthfc
- Hi Spangles, our other greyhound hasnt got any markings and was kept on the lead with Ashley all the time so wasnt the sightings im sure. There was a sighting in Mopsies area around early afternoon on Sunday and a possible sighting at stacey's last night. She is definately winning the game of hide and seek at the moment im just trying to think if I was her where would I go? Im wondering if I can prehaps get some friends to have a look at the back of freyerns in the craylands estates as if you go round to the left when you enter the estate up the back all the houses are empty but with gardens and sheds still in them and Garages. Will need to check if this has been done tomorrow
- 2013-02-04 23:46 Spangles
- Cooperthfc have you any idea what time the sightings that muckymutz refers to were? did you search Staceys Corner and Mopsies following the call, just need to ensure that the call wasn't made having seen your other greyhound out looking for Lexi......Kimmybear, yes a triangle of sorts if you take where she bolted from and the two latest sightings, and quite a small triangle..Chris have you scented as per the advice sent from DL she seems so close to home....is she a counter surfer would the smell of food attract her, lots of takeaways in Timberlog Lane, is she heading there late at night? Come on Lexi you win the game of hide and seek, time to come home pretty girl x

- Hi all, I am one of the owners of lexi (Chris) you have all been dealing with my partner Ashley. First of all I would like to say a massive thank you to you all for all the hard work you are doing to try and bring my Lexi home it really is such a huge relief to know there are so Many Good People.
A Update on what has gone on today, Ashley went out early afternoon with our other Greyhound covering Mopsies Park and Stacey's Corner with a friend with no sign.
Also She has been out with a medium party tonight covering Staceys Corner, Mopsies, Freyerns and new estate. also slightly into red brick area near Stacey Park. Still no sightings. Im sorry I havent been able to get out I have just been released from hospital from a operation and im so annoyed i cant get out there but once again thank you all so much. I hope we get her home soon and ill throw the BBQ party as a welcome home - 2013-02-04 22:11 Kimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
- That's a lovely picture. Thank you Angus & Ashmark. With all these sightings she should be found very soon. Everything crossed. Are the sightings forming a triangle?
- 2013-02-04 18:45 AlisonH
- Bumped due to sightings.
- 2013-02-04 15:24 muckymutz
- Heard there's been two more sightings one at mopsies park another by Stacey's corner these seem more logical than the laindon sighting. Just been over mopsies but no sign
And have driven around the streets over Stacey's corner way also no sign. - 2013-02-04 12:44 Angus
- clear image of Lexi now added
- 2013-02-04 09:10 muckymutz
- Sorry that was meant to say, someone on my dog grooming page has just said they saw her at the triangle shops in laindon yesterday, they pulled over and she had then vanished, she said she didn't appear injured.

- I had a brief look around Gloucester Park Sun morning, but to no avail. Plenty of fishermen along the lake who might just help.
I have a feeling that there's someone living in a tent on one of the hillocks - might Lexi be attracted to food smells there? My dog was! Good Luck!Last edited: 2013-02-04 01:12:33 by CopperM - 2013-02-03 22:16 teddyedward
- I'll have a look around Gloucester Park at some point tomorrow. Dave
- 2013-02-03 20:32 kay_cee_80
- I hear from Lexi's owner that there was a possible sighting of her over Gloucester Park yesterday (Saturday 2nd Feb). Perhaps that's the place to search around tomorrow.
I've had a letter through my door today from St Andrews church at the end of The Fremnells saying they will start digging up their carpark tomorrow at 8am. Work will be ongoing for 4 - 5 weeks. If Lexi is anything like my greyhound, then she'll stay well away from that building noise. So I don't expect her this end of Broadmayne. - 2013-02-03 20:30 Kimmybear - Area Co-ordinator, Essex & Hertfordshire borders
- DW, I got an email from Ashley saying the found dog in Chelmsford might be Lexi, but I have no idea who or where found dog is???? Is this Lexi's owner??
- 2013-02-03 18:32 Basildon DW
- Thanks Kay_cee_80. That's great about the kids but I am not suprised about the posters, it happens all the time.
- 2013-02-03 17:06 kay_cee_80
- I've been out searching again, covering The Fremnells, pattiswick square, Beeleigh East, Frypha Hall Fields, Whitmore Way & Great Spenders but no luck.
I had a group of kids come running over to me pointing at my white & black greyhound, Lucy, and ask if she was the missing dog. I told them no, and that Lexi is still missing, but does look a lot like my Lucy. So the posters are working.
Sadly I have to report that some sick individual has been along The Fremnells and Beeleigh East and pulled down and torn up the posters.
What kind of sicko does that? - 2013-02-03 15:47 Basildon DW
- I need the exercise Jayne!! I'm getting so many cals and texts from concerned people who are out looking, its lovely and comforting to the owners and family who are also looking like crazy- thanks everyone x. Do you have any suggestions on what to do next Jayne. I have asked owner to contact you regarding PR and press appeal.

- I have been out this morning either side of broadmayne, again in the bushes garages and side roads from Timberlog lane to church road. I did not go further than the beeliegh area and long riding on the otherside. I also went down long riding from town up to church road. I wonder if she has found a really good hiding spot but we have been concentrating on bushes, empty garages, ditches etc or someone has her.
- 2013-02-03 14:04 kay_cee_80
- Still no sightings of her? I can go out searching again this afternoon with my greyhound & lurcher. Where would be best to search?
- 2013-02-03 09:55 janew

- I shall have some with me tomorrow, I will concentrate on broadmayne, in the bushes mainly and take some shears with me, there are lots of thick brambles, and then work my way inward on the long riding side. We had a big search around craylands and surrounding wasteland and then on toward the town up to holy cross. We spoke to lots of people and handed out lots of leaflets, no one has seen her.

- Thanks Kay_cee_80, we have had nothing either this morning. Family and volunteers currently out looking. I have given owner, Ashley, tons of leaflets and posters about an hour ago so it may be worth any one wanting some to call/link up with her if they want some. I shall be back out shortly concentrating on bushes, open ground, parks and any good hiding places. I will also have posters and leaflets so if anyone wants to waive me down I'm in a dirty white transit, blonde hair black jacket (council logo) blue jeans.

- Lexi was seen at 7pm last night on Whitmore way in Basildon. Owner was out looking but could not find her but has spread the word to local shops parks etc. I will be back out shortly postering. Whitmore way runs central through several large housing estates tightly packed together. Needle in a haystack springs to mind. I shall add on posters to check gardens garages etc.

- Can we have alerts out asap for Lexi please. Please everyone follow the dog wardens advice and pass on the message not to approach but to call if sighted. We believe she was injured in the rta so need to limit chances of her bolting again given how nervous she is too. Thanks.
- 2013-01-31 17:24 Basildon DW
- Lexi was hit by a car on a very busy dual carridgeway at lunchtime today and bolted. She was seen up to an hour after the accident around the Fryerns/Broadmayne area. Her owner is desperate to find her. Lexi has probably found somewhere to hide as she is a very nerous dog, scared of her own shadow. Please please do not attempt to catch her if seen, call the owner or Basildon Council.
