I'm so sorry, I have only just had the strength to read all the heartfelt and much appreciated comments after losing my wonderful boy. I can't thank everyone enough, so many people went out of their way and took time out to help me search for my baby. Losing him pretty much destroyed me, which is why I had to get a friend to post that he'd gone.
Thank you all so so much for your help, it was a god-awful time, but so many people called to say they'd spotted him and helped me search that for the time he was away, I knew he was being watched over. Why oh why did he decide to cross the A14? We'll never know, all I can do is be grateful for the time we had together.
Thank you all so much.

The girls!
I have been advised by the co-ordinator of the Glatton village website that a comment was left following the sad loss of Talen by one of the residents so I thought I would share on Talen's page.
So very sad to learn of Talen the missing dog’s passing. Many people from Glatton looked out for him on a daily basis whilst walking their dogs. My deepest condolences to his family in their dreadful loss. It is comforting to think Glatton is still a village where people care enough to go out looking for a missing pet. May it be of some comfort to his owners that people tried so hard to bring him home. God Bless them at this dreadful time.

So very very sorry you didn't make it home gorgeous. Sleep tight - sweet dreams. Your family will join you when the time is right.
To the family stateside - my sincere condolences at this very sad time - it's something we all dread. Empathy is worldwide between animal people. xx

how moving and such a lovely thing to write all the way from USA, would also just to say sorry for you sad loss as well xx
DogLostAngus
message all the way from the USA

I understand why most of the networking factors of your site are UK
only. After all, most lost dogs won't make it all the way to the US,
nor will we be of much use other than signal boosting and sympathy …

However, I would dearly love to be able to share my condolences when a
dog (such as Talen, who I was following) is found R.T.A
Having just lost my own beloved girl (to liver cancer) in the last few
days, perhaps I am overly sensitive … but I am just sobbing here and
unable to let Talen's people know how very sorry I am and I would love
to just be able to leave a note … I know it might not be that much
comfort - after all, how much empathy can people a time zone away
really feel? - Please know, it's a great deal, as I have had Talen's
page open for a couple of days and was so hoping for a positive
outcome;

Very similar looking dog was seen walking along the A14 towards Huntingdon we think the dog definatly looked very similar to Talen. It was seen at 8.45am and using a map we think the approx area was Spaldwick eastern area. Helen from Doglost is phoning the owners now. Fingers crossed x
Tiamaat
Lady phoned at 10pm after she thought she heard him yowl when he hit her electric fence near Barnwell Wolds - which is where he was tracked going into yesterday morning
Liz
Have emailed local newspaper "The Gidding" that covers this area asking for their help, have given them all the details and phone numbers and sent them Talens doglost poster. Fingers crossed they'll get the word out there. Lets get this dog home xx Also have a lady searching out that way everyday as she delivers in that area, connected to facebookLast edited: 2013-02-12 20:16:27 by Liz

Spotted in Mill Lane, Great Gidding at 7am, in a field just outside of Luddington headed towards Hemington at 8:10am.
Then at 9:30am headed the opposite way towards Thurning - have just come back from there (12:50pm) - no sign
Tiamaat
Went out very early for a couple of hours - up Mill Hill through to Denton, in the valley where he was spotted Sunday & around the back of Tilsons - Nothing
Then spotted on Luton Lane 3:30 - 4pm - I arrived at 4:15 (as came from Cambridge & stayed till 8pm), along with other lovely people who couldn't spot him either

Could you please do a map with all sightings, dates and times. Liz z
SH
please make sure you let ALL the farmers/ game keepers etc know you are out searching for him so they are aware that he is a much adored family pet and that you are doing everything within your power to catch him. Would it be worth placing a trap in the area he has been seen? I will be watching and praying for this beautiful boys safe return x
Liz Q
Hi~where was Talen sighted please? (just to update on our facebook pic) x
Tiamaat
Talen was spotted yesterday morning and lunch time, but was too frightened of the people trying to get hold of him. Whilst i'm beside myself that snow settled last night and he is out in it, I'm hoping that it may help me to track him this morning. Many thanks to all those people yesterday who tried to find him.
Honeybun
Been readjng some FB comments someone mentioned the following who knows it might help:). : whenever they have a sighting check wind direction if dog has run downwind circle around the area no ammount of calling or howling will be heard if the wind is blowing against you. Same if you take your other dog with you he will be able to smell him if the winds are used to your advantage:) 90% of times dogs will run into the wind.Last edited: 2013-02-10 22:06:09 by Honeybun

I've just been told that he was seen today going from Glatton towards Gidding. He was called but ran away.

Another 5 hrs scouring the area this morning, 3 with a lovely neighbour Peter, no sight of him & no calls from people seeing him...Last edited: 2013-02-09 15:27:34 by Tiamaat

Spotted at 8am in the fields opposite Tilsons in Glatton, with the help of Liza & 'The Girls!" spent 6 hrs driving and walking around the area, speaking to locals and handing out more flyers. Spotted a recent paw print I think is him, but no Talen
Callie
Been asked to add this update by Tiamaat - there has been another sighting in Glatton today, the female caller said he had been spotted in the woods to the rear of her property.
Tiamaat
A lovely lady from Glatton just called, confirming that she'd seen him there yesterday lunchtime & will let the farmers know

Thanks again 'The Girls!', off into Oundle to photocopy poster & start putting it everywhere (as currently only in village and area brother found)
The girls!
Will look out again tomorrow on school run - seems to like lunchtimes. At least there are plenty of places to hide out along the way and going in the right direction. Just a thought, Monday on my way back from Oundle I used the road that turns off at the cross roads by Polebrook Aerodrome and then goes along the back of Lutton to Glatton/Gidding. At the point where the Moonshine Byway crosses the road on the back way into Lutton there are/were workmen on the site opposite the restricted byway - may be worth mentioning to them in case he goes back towards you that way if they have not already been made aware
Tiamaat
'The Girls!' thank you so much, gave my card to a few people on the way home, yes was spotted in Glatton at lunchtime today, but by the time I got there, there was nothing, even a couple of hours of calling and howling had no effect, am just hoping that he's on his way home
The girls!
Have added Talen to lots of local FB pages in the hope he is found. Also have made friends out Gidding way aware as thought he may go that way. Was it today he was spotted again? Am going out shortly with my gang so will look again but hopefully he's heading back to you - kept an eye out this morning when went to the horses - called his name as could have been hiding in the buildings but nothing also kept an eye out on the way to and from school. Hope he makes it back home very soon.
Tiamaat
Spotted crossing Sawtry Road just south of Glatton headed West at 12:15pm, went out there for 2 hrs calling & howling, no response, no further sighting.
Dog warden looked around Great Gidding area for 1 hr from 1pm
Telephone number & description given to a number of people on way back home from location.
Scenting marking performed in rear garden at home.Last edited: 2013-02-06 15:08:44 by Tiamaat

Beautiful dog hope is home found soon.
I am in PE7, which is 20miles away from where this boy went missing, had to look on map to see where Hemington is and I have never heard of it, and it is between Barnwell and Sawtry for any one else that needs to know. Have tweeted and FB'd xxx
