Brilliant news!! I spoke to Appledown kennels this morning as I was so concerned about this beautiful lad. They confirmed that he would have been held there for 8 days including today, before being put up for re-homing. Stay safe now young man xx
julie shelton:
Just to confirm, strays are not put up for rehoming after 24 hours, they are boarded for their 7 clear days at the rehoming centre. This gives them access to more exercise, larger kennels and dog people on site 24 hours a day.

Hi all. I'm not sure why Luton BC's dog warden only keeps dogs onsite for 24 hours, but apparently that's their protocol. It was a tiny little building, so it may simply be a size thing. Anyway, despite the fact he wasn't microchipped, I'm pleased to say that (following a call to Luton BC this morning) his owners came forward for him yesterday, which is great news.

he is beautiful surely he belongs to someone. as previously said looks recently clipped, might be worth taking photo to dog groomers in area near where he was found they might recognise him.Last edited: 2013-02-05 22:01:58 by lilliegez

If hes only found on the 5th how can he be moved to a re-homing centre on the next day?? has he be given up for re-homing by his owner?

What a handsome boy! Surely someone must be missing him? Wonder if they'd consider a temporary foster home to give the owner a bit longer to trace him? Looks well looked after (recently clipped).

Hope his owner turns up pretty fast as he is moving to a rehoming centre on 6th!
