Douglas is home! Emma has no idea where he has been he just appeared. He was covered in dirt and so it would appear he has been traped underground. He has lost 1.1/2 kilos in weight just enough for him to wriggle free. He's had a vet check and he is all clear apart from a minor eye infection probably caused by the sand and earth.

OBH terrier man spent Thusday afternoon with Emma checking out all likely areas but no joy. An e-mail has now gone out to all subscribers to the OBH asking them to keep a look out for Douglas as hopfully he has gone walk about and someone may spot him or possibly saw him on Monday afternoon

Ibelieve Douglas is the larger of the two dogs, so we are hoping that he may take a while longer to free himself is stuck down a hole. Its an area with a huge amount of setts. They both have gone to ground before Bobble . OBH Terrierman is being alerted by K9 Chum who is doing a great job helping . Ive sent owner advice sheets and waiting to hear any more news.

Owners just texted that she wil ring me in the morning I need to know whereabout exactly he went. Typicaly terriers do go to ground and Ive contats in the Old berks Hunt who will help here if this is the case

Owners: Has he "gone to ground before" meaning do you know the procedure to locate him? If you are not already a member, it would be worth you contacting your local working terrier group, who can help and advise on locating him and getting him out. If you have terriers prone to going to ground it is well worth being a memeber of a working terrier group, even if yours are pets, the groups are expert at getting them home and know the law about disturbing mammals homes etc. Good luck from a fellow terrier owner! - hopefully he will be home very soon, maybe even before you read this.

Douglas went missing in the area between Faringdon, Coleshill, Coxwell and Longcot. Quite near the A420. He was chasing a rabbit with his pal when they both vanished. The other dog has returned home covered with earth but Douglas is still missing.Last edited: 2013-02-06 12:44:24 by k9chum

Alerts sent out to helpers in SN1-8. If we could find out village name in SN6...it maybe that we need to send out more alerts as near the border.
