will compulsory microchipping prevent this happening? missing 4 yrs and never scanned, and whoever had her didn't get her scan or chipped - so when its compulsory they would have found out when they got her chipped she already was.but so many people get dog already chipped and never alter the details - will it make a difference to people to update things when they buy/adopt? the rescues of course always have. this is such a wonderful happy ending - I bet Sabrina remembered her owners and soooooo glad they wanted her back.

Brilliant news! How I love reading about reunions like this! Well done to the Newark Dog Warden for checking for a microchip. I guess that would have been a bit of a surprise for you Sabrina! I hope Shadow is well and settles down with you quickly.

can some one please check on gumtree ad ref 1050475007, an almost identicle dog to this for sale in bolton. ad seems very long & stretched out, also seller states hes previously posted ad for that dog but was choosey with potential buyers, & checking his ads history 0 none at all.
No phone contact, no map to view just emails & stated he'll go thru all mails sent. might be just genuine, but the similarities are certainly there with the dog.

UPDATE... SORRY JUST SEEN THE DOG SIGHTED IS WHITE GSD
01 Apr 2013 GSDog sighted only DL 50662
GSD seen on the side of the A1 northbound near to colsterworth.sighted only unable to catch the dog as running scared
Found In Region East Anglia
Found In Post Area NG33

Have now spoken to the owner. Shadow was a very nervous rescue dog who wasn't happy being around young children so sadly the owner came to the decision that she would rehome her. She tried all the rescue centres who at the time were all full and so as a last resort she advertised her on Preloved. A lady in a silver Landrover came to view Shadow and claimed to have owned and trained a lot of rescue GSD's and offered to take her on a few days trial. She left a mobile contact number and said she would report back in a couple of days. After a couple of days Shadow's owner called the lady to ask how she was getting on but the lady was not very helpful and gave a false address. It was reported to the police but they were not able to act upon it as Shadow had been willingly handed over to this woman.
The owner understands that Shadow may now be in a happy home and she just wants to know what has happened to her and would willingly hand over all her papers if that was the case.

Sorry Shadow has only just been posted on here - she was registered as missing on her microchip the day she went. For some reason I had assumed she would automatically be registered on here. She may not look exactly like she does in the photos as she was only about 18 months old at the time she went missing x
