Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Thank you Kelly...Owner has had a look at Bonzo's pictures and she said its sadly not him...Bonzo is Identical apart from the white on his feet and the white on chest is slightly different :(

Hi got your messages, let me know if you think Bonzo we have in one of our pounds is this dog as soon as possible as his time up at the pound is tomorrow and sadly we have had no rescues offer to take him so he will be put to sleep if no rescue found or no owner comes forward for him

The wound would fit time wise on how much its healed etc if it had happened during getting stolen.

We had booked a microchipp appointment for rocky and his sisters for about a weeks time, that is the annoying thing!!!

Sorry to hear that you had no luck with the dog. I'm not sure how a Kelpie can be confused with a GSD other than it was perhaps a lack of a photo to compare. Kelpies aren't that common so perhaps the people that spotted the stray thought it was Rocky! Can I just say that if you are on a farm then you probably have a few dogs. It would be a good idea to have at least one photo of all your dogs because without a photo to compare then it makes it quite difficult to spread the word! You say that you haven't got a photo because he was only a working farm dog, but believe me it is working/gun dogs that are stolen the most and the scumbags that steal them will have them away in a wink of an eye! Better still if you could have them microchipped as well,that would endorse them as belonging to you when they are found. It doesn't cost too much and helps enormously when they are found.
I think if we are going to be able to move on with finding Rocky then you sre going to have to print off some posters of a dog that looks very much like him and explain the differences on the poster and hope that these will bring him to the attention of dog walkers etc if he is roaming around somewhere!

As Rocky is a trained working farm dog, and is particularly good with cattle, then is it possible that someone you know from the cattle/dairy farming fraternity may have stolen him? In particular someone that knows him or has perhaps borrowed him for work before?

No sorry, we never got a pic of him as he was a farm dog! He also a working dog, so knows a few command like sit etc. he is really good with cattle!

have you dropped a poster into Maccabee Pet hotel at Longwick??....posters are so important as you will only get sightings called in if your number is out there....given the fact Rocky doesn't like strangers I think this is majorly important!!!!

How are we doing with the posters? Have we got any yet?
I think that it would be a good idea if we started with the Phoenix Trail and then postered the village perhaps the Village Hall, Windmill Road and Towersey Road along past the old Rugby Club towards Thame. It would probably be a good idea to put a poster or two along the Ring Road as well. Also the other way, back towards Chinnor.
You say that only someone that knew Rocky would be able to get him and that is what worries you. This is giving me vibes that perhaps there is a person or persons that you are suspicious of. Without mentioning names on here (as it is an open forum) is this the case? If so perhaps you should go to the police but maybe Shereen would have some advice regarding that!
This is not a good week for me regarding time as what with the funeral Tuesday, I'm having some plumbing work done today which is going to take most of the light hours of day. Tomorrow I'm tied up again and Saturday and Monday I'm working and Sunday I have my son back from Bristol. i believe that Denise has said that she could do the other end of the Phoenix Trail out towards Risbor' and perhaps SH could help with that too! What we really need though at the moment is some posters!

Personally I would say that if he has disappeared without trace then it does seem that he has been stolen. You are on quite a busy road so we know that scumbags would have access to him. Have you asked around locally? Your 'neighbours' Billy and his brother for example.They have barns and out buildings that he might have got shut into also Angie at the nursery/garden centre and further along Rose's Farm at Emmington. All these places have out buildings, green houses etc so would be worth a try. Also they are all close to the Phoenix Trail where you say he likes to go!I think it unlikely that he has gone the other way where the factories are but you never know. You say he has disappeared without trace which means that nobody has reported seeing him. This certainly looks suspicious but would he have let anyone get him? It sounds unlikely, unless there is anyone that has turned up at A&E minus a hand! I think that the Phoenix Trail would be a good place to start postering because there are lots of people that use it for cycling, dog walking etc who might just remember seeing him and at least that would give us a clue if he has just wandered off. Do we have any posters? Do you have a printer that you could print some off? We will need some waterproof slips to put them in too. I could perhaps sought something out later but I've got to go to a funeral today:( so am a bit tied up for today.Perhaps you could let us know how you get on.Best of luck for now!

Some more info: he went missing on the 30th January, he is almost 2 years old and is quite large, and very vicious to people he doesnt know, so be careful if you spot him! He may have been stolen, hope not but we are not sure. So please help us find him!

He went missing from blackditch farm, we think he's been stolen, but not sure. Dissaperared without a trace but he was quite vicious.

We are more than happy to help look for Rocky over the weekend, sorry can't help any earlier. We live in Henton which is right next to towersey and are out walking our dogs every weekend along the Pheonix trail. Have there been any sightings or is there anywhere we should look specifically? Is Rocky likely to approach people with dogs? Is he about the size of a pointer? If we could have alittle more info we will do our best to help find him.

Sorry to hear that Rocky is missing. This is my area .I was wondering if he was stolen, ran off or has just vanished from his garden. This is a rural area where scumbags are known to frequent. However because it is rural there are lots of hiding places for a dog. I do think we need an idea in this case of how he went missing!
