- I'm so pleased for you what great news to see Arnie back home, it's always the first place to look up there every morning when i've gone past i've always stopped and had a look to see if i could see him there as it's still dark and very quiet but you have to be so careful with them. But at least he is back now thank dog for that

- It gives me great pleasure to say Arnie is now home! He was found by police on Cherry Tree Traveller site - eventually. Concon18, I think the visit must have helped him to become too hot to handle and something had to give. If you can find out more, please let us know. Many thanks for helping owners which led to finding Arnie. Yippee!!!! Welcome home sweetheart. xxx

- So sorry there is no better news. I have experienced my dog missing and she was found, but the time she was missing was dreadful. Defo contact the police, however in my experience they leave it all to the dog wardens, but they were able to give me a reported sighting and any RTA information in which he may be involved. Suggest you register with Beds, Herts and Bucks dog wardens, all the game keepers and rangers in the Ashridge and Beds - Edlesborough/Studham/Redbourn area. Put posters in all the walking areas and dog friendly cafes etc. Contact the local farmers - I even stopped a local postman and asked him to deliver flyers to the local shops on his round. I also made small, business card size slips up with her photo and my contact details and handed them to all the dog walkers I met in Ashridge and all the surrounding areas, and I did get some sightings on her prompted by leaving posters and slips with people and the more you talk to people the more they will engage in looking for him. Make the matter as public as possible.
Praying for his safe return... - 2013-02-13 19:00 Lamport
- Hi don't give up hope, we got our little sky back after 5 and half weeks. I think posters offering a reward are the best way, we handed over reward as we were so grateful to get her back, we will never really know where she was all that time, she was stolen from the back of our garden, I suspect gypsies had her but she is fine and is settled back after her adventure. Good luck

- Contact your local council for the dog warden and surrounding councils, not sure of areas but for example, St Albans, Hemel, Watford. Traveller Liaison Officer should be contacted in the same way as they should both work together. Might be worth mentioning to police if not already done so. Rememberthe Highways road people are not the same as the local council road people, so call both - also via council offices. You are doing so well Concon, you are the neighbour we all want. x

- the first site is along the redbourn road on the left hand side just before the bridge they are always advertising yorkshire terrier cross jack russel puppies for sale and the other one is along the same road further up again on the left hand side just before the first roundabout i think this one would come under st albans council not sure about the other one though but cherry trees would come under dacorum it's a good idea to offer a reward lets hope Arnie is home soon

- I think you need to get owner to report this to police if Arnie disappeared from front door and does not do that normally. It may well be the site, but please tell owner, we don't accuse, we work on it and see what happens. He must take every possibility seriously and not rule anything out. Can you get Arnie in the local press? If there is something they can use to make it more of a heartbreaking story or something to make it stand out, e.g. if owner is elderly, or young children pining, or even any disability, that kind of thing, they may do an article. If not, get a little ad in there. Please let us know if/when it goes in and we can bump up Arnie in case people look on here. x

- Its very difficult but keep going, the posters may work yet. Posters can be emailed too using the link at the top of this page. Posters can be printed off from the link above "view poster"
Theres also an online form on Battersea Dogs home website to report lost dogs:
http://www.battersea.org.uk/help_advice/lost_dogs_cats/lost_dogs_cats_line/lost_report_form.html#tab_1
It wont do any harm to report to police on 101 and say you think he may have been stolen.
Maybe think of putting "yes" next to reward on his poster ??
Keep going with the posters anywhere you can, the more the better.....as well as facebook. Will ask about getting him on Twitter.
You're doing brilliant, I dont live near to you otherwise would help with the posters but will email and share as many as I can.
Noticed you put a post on GSD kellys page for redfred4444...well done on that. His contact no is on kellys page if you need it. - 2013-02-10 23:16 concon18

- Thanks concon18 for updating.....will keep sharing Arnie's poster and checking websites.
Am sure you have, but has his poster been sent to rescues and dogs homes? Lots of posters up in the area and fliers through doors?.....incase hes been picked up and looked afer by someone local, especially as not chipped.
Could he have been stolen? Just wondering about reporting to Neighbourhood Police Team if possibility.
Are owners spreading on facebook and twitter, maybe setting up his own facebook page :)
Well done on all the hard work. Fingers crossed he's found soon xxLast edited: 2013-02-10 17:34:45 by AnnieSparky - 2013-02-10 16:35 concon18

- Have forwarded details to my conacts in the area and can go walking tomorrow. More details would be useful - was he missing from home; was he wearing a colourful coat if out walking; etc?. If he was not tagged or chipped the best thing is to get posters EVERYWHERE as no one will know who to return him to if they have not seen he is missing and he has no ID.
Good luck finding him - heartbreaking experience - stay positive. - 2013-02-08 18:38 Maty
- Just added to a very local dog walking group. Would be good to have more info - could change where we walk to the right area!
- 2013-02-08 18:10 karen
- Hi, Did he go missing on a walk and if so where? Any thoughts or suggestions of areas to look. I am not far and can take my dogs walking there. I have friends in the area and have got message out via facebook as well. Might be worth getting a poster up around the Grovehill shops, and the Community Centre, schools and pubs. If you havent already contact Dog Warden.
