- Thanks for this. We are still not giving up hope, it's just amazing to us that no-one seems to have seen or heard anything. Fingers crossed the latest advertising will bring some news...

- Hi. No, she is still missing. We are starting to advertise further afield, as we've checked the immediate vicinity and asked local farmers there has been no sighting of her, which is all rather strange. So either she has got injured and we didn't find her, or she's been taken. Still not giving up hope, however.

- any news on Boomerang?
- 2013-03-06 15:34 BenG
- No, Boomerang is still missing. The confusion might have arisen because both Boomerang and Snuffy (our other basset) were both registered as lost a few weeks before, but both turned up. But Boomerang has now been gone for over 10 days - we're still looking, but widening our search a bit.
- 2013-03-06 12:01 POPS
- have you found your basset yet? as confused with the data log ?

- Quick update. We are now one week in with no confirmed sightings. We had Jenny and Tiga around this afternoon and they have more or less established that Boomerang is not in the immediate area that we associate with their usual hunting ground, so she may well have strayed further afield, lured by more rabbits or whatever. Anyway, this would mean potentially looking further towards Harlton, Harston, etc, although there's no way of really knowing in which direction she might have drifted off in. Thanks, Ben.

- Thank you Ben, apologies for only just spotting your response. It's all sorted now thanks, Helen sent me a copy of the map. I'll go on a search in the area concerned (which I'm close to and know well) tomorrow. Thanks again!

- Hi Harvey - thanks for offering to help. If the doglost admin don't send you anything please send me your email address and I can do so, as obviously all you can do in the comment section is put text, not pictures. Thanks, Ben.

- DOGLOST MODS / ADMIN - Any chance of passing that map over please? I'm very local to the area concerned and will go out looking with one of my dogs if I know where's best to start.

Hate to say this, but Boomerang is missing again! Snuffy is at home no
problem - they both went off a few days ago, this time around their normal
hunting ground out the back of our house - so it's quite familiar to them
and there is usually not an issue. Snuffy came back within the day,
Boomerang did not. So this time we are possibly a bit more worried as:
(a) They are not together
(b) Boomerang's sense of direction occasionally lets her down
(c) She is the smaller of the two, so suffers a bit more in cold weather,
and
(d) She'd only just recovered from the last escapade (so why she wanted to
go off again is beyond us!)
I've attached a map of where Boomerang has disappeared in comparison to
last time if this helps - it's broadly the same postcode area but a bit
different in terms of the people walking their dogs (no one who walks where
they were lost previously are likely to walk there dogs there). Anyway, we
are doing the usual things, and going back daily to this area to call for
her, without any luck so far. Anything you can do to help would be most
welcome.

- My wife has now located and got hold of Boomerang, so they are both now returned! Excellent news and thanks to DogLost (and associated helpers) for their help in the process.

- Good News - Snuffy has now returned home!
One down, one to go - the hunt is still on apparently... - 2013-02-11 11:47 BenG
- Quick update - apparently both have been sighted in the vicinity and it sounds like there are up to 10 people chasing round a field in South Cambs trying to get them on a lead - various calls coming in from Harlton, etc. Will keep you posted, but hopefully this is heading towards some kind of positive outcome...

- Hi Cath. Yes, we know the quarry quite well thanks. As we live the Shepreth end of Barrington it's quite possible, if they have any homing sense (which they usually do) that they would eventually head in that direction. Thanks for spreading the word anyway, we are continuing with contacts and posters (thanks DogLost!) at various locations in the vicinity.
- 2013-02-10 18:52 Cath
- I am assuming, as you sound to know the area you know about the quarry. There are loads of holes under the fence. I wonder if someone would be able to check inside there. I know wildlife use these holes and the dogs could have followed. My mum lives in
Harlton and I have asked her to spread the word. - 2013-02-10 18:03 BenG
- Hi. This is Ben (the owner). Quick message to Harvey who posted earlier. As noted in the posts, the mobile number was an old one and has since been updated so if you want to contact me you can now do so. They were lost in Harlton Woods, if you know that specific area - naturally, we've been back each day since but no sightings as yet - all local farmers have been informed as there is a lot of open / wooded land around there. Thanks, Ben.
- 2013-02-10 17:27 AlisonH
- These two beautiful dogs just ran off when out on a walk in nearby woods. Probably picked up the scent of a rabbit. Apparently they have done this several times before but usually come back within a couple of days. Local kennels have been notified as have all local farmers and neighbours. Dog warden unavailable over weekend but will be contacted first thing in the morning.Last edited: 2013-02-10 17:48:53 by AlisonH
