Anna1975, there was a big chip recall last summer. If Smokey has a Virbac chip it might have failed and it should get replaced free of charge. However, if you use Park Vets they use Avid chips so that wouldn't apply. So glad Smokey's back where he belongs.

Thank you so much to all of those that have helped bring Smokey home. I am not sure what happened but although Watford Council was the first place I called, unfortunately this message did not get through and when he was collected his chip didn't register. The most important thing is that Smokey is home and back with my 3 children who only lost their father 7 months ago. I am getting hm rechipped next week (as his chip didn't read at the pound) and a brand new collar with our contact details on. Once again, thanks to all involved.

i have left a voicemail for smokeys owners giving them watfords number. hope she gets them soon so he can be home for weekend. sad thing is, she hasnt called us with his lost details, if i hadnt seen him in the kennels and then seen him on here he may have ended up going to a shelter.... it is always worth ringing all surrounding councils when you lose a dog, just in case!!

This is a place we know well and occasionally walk Dido. We'll take a pile of posters down there tomorrow and have a good look round. This is on the edge of Three Rivers DC, so I'll make sure Debbie knows.
