- If you have any crow flocks near you go and check them out, African greys will flock with crows..if he has a favourite toy in his cage, hang it in the garden, also stand outside and call him like ŷou would in the home. I had a pair of amazons stolen some years back. They escaped from the thieves and were loose for over two weeks.I knew they were still in the area although I hadn't seen them but people kept telling me. I stood in the garden everyday before sunrise and dusk, roosting time, and called them. First the cock bird came back and then the hen. A lot say that once they have their wing you won't get them back, this would apply to smaller parrot/parakeet but an African grey will eventually come down...get it in the local paper and definite contact the RSPCA, with a bird most people will ring them first...good luck
