Little monkey! :) she's treated you to her first 'walk of shame' - strolling home in the early hours - wondering what the fuss is about :) Don't be too surprised if she does it again :) Joking aside - really very pleased she's home safe. Welcome home young lady! :) xx

Wonderful news. So pleased Poppy is safe, and well. Pleases she is spayed as cats who have had this op. tend not to go to far usually. Stay safe now Poppyxxx

so pleased Poppy has turned up safe and well. One of mine did that and I didn't sleep a wink looking out for him all the time. He turned up shouting at the patio door starving hungry and with tons of cobwebs in his whiskers so shut in some where x

FANTASTIC my Ruby went missing for 5 nights once I never thought I'd see her again and she just appeared one morning as if nothing had happened but very hungry. think she'd been shut in one of the barns in the fields at the back of my house xx

Poppys mum has text me to say that Poppy arrived home around 2am, safe, but happy to be home after her adventure! Has been spoilt rotten. Thank you DL for your support. Skippy, thank you very much for your post, very interesting. I'd not heard of Catchat. I’ve kept a copy to share with my cat friends.

Thank you all so much for your help and advise. Poppy strolled in at 0200 this morning, very hungery but happy to be home, must have been shut in somewhere.

Catchat website has a great action plan of things you can or should do. Many of these will be the same as for finding a lost dog, - but link is here if there is anything you haven't thought of yet - http://www.catchat.org/lost.html

They also have a list of local rescues all of who might be contacted if a cat is found - http://www.catchat.org/adoption/wilts.html

Make sure you contact all your local vets - make sure they all get her details. Cats tend to travel a little less than dogs so lots of fliers through local doors can also be really effective. Encourage neighbours to check garages and sheds to make sure she hasn't got herself shut in somewhere. Keep an eye on windowsills of any empty houses or houses where neighbours may be on holiday.

I work with a cat charity close to where I live (not close to you I'm afraid or else I'd help on the ground) and almost without exception it is the posters and fliers that bring lost cats home. It is also great that Poppy is chipped. Young cats will often get picked up by a well-meaning a passer-by who assume they are lost and need help. When taken to a local vet, they are often quickly reunited if chipped.

Good luck with your hunt. She might just waltz in again at any time. They can be little monkeys when they want to be! x

Poppy is wearing a red collar with reflective strips, red poppy ID tag. Will start sharing and poster all busy areas, schools etc.
