It is being reported on a major reptile forum today that two akitas - one male and one female, have been handed into a pound in Manchester today.  Person who handed them over has not said which pound and don't know if she's reported them here (she was advised to).  Fingers crossed!  http://www.reptileforums.co.uk/other-pets-exotics/250962-done-again-found-more-stray.html

Probably a long shot but an akita has been living rough in Bolton, was caught yesterday and is with akita rescue, no further details as yet

Agreed Bugs!!! Shame I'm not in the area or I'd go and check it out!! Is there anyone out there that can??? Even if it's not Zeus it's another poor dog that's being passed on!! If they knew they were moving house why did they buy a dog anyway considering house moves don't move that quick!!!

Any news?? I have forwarded to a friend who's mum works in a vets in Sale so she will keep her eyes peeled! She's also has contacts with Peggy Henderson's animal sanctuary so rest assured they'll keep their eyes peeled! Let me know if any help is needed in Bury or Altrincham??

AAAH! automated phones-i hate them have tried to ring but keep getting in queue and then a message comes up to ask you to go to the dogs home direct to check for missing dogs-anyone have an e mail address for them?

have spoken to dog warden who says they have had reports of a husky type dog spotted in Stockport but unable to catch-dogs from the police are taken to Manchester dogs home-so will ring there to check.

I once found a dog tied to a tree outside Peggy Henderson's animal sanctuary in Sale and when I took him to the police station they wouldn't take him off me because they didn't have kennels at that particular station. I asked them if they could take him to Altrincham in one of the dog vans and they said no because they don't transport animals with their dogs and I can't remember the excuse they gave me now because it was so pathetic! I agree with Owl!! I would have thought they'd rather give him back and get it over and done with than fart about til Thursday! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and hope you have in back super quick!!!

I have just spoken to Zeus' owner. The police informed him that a dog answering to Zeus' description has been picked up but they can't give him any more information until Thursday - if he calls then, he will be able to speak to the officer concerned. They are too busy to do anything before then. I understand that the police are very busy indeed at present but am rather puzzled as if the dog is in official hands then it is less trouble and cost for them if he goes back to his owner? Do we have a dogwarden in the area who could help here and find out where the dog is and whether it is Zeus or not?

Jayne, the other akita on the list is female and between 6-7 years old......and it's not the same colour, Zeus is black and white, isn't he?
