Have only just seen this, and am very upset. What a terrible thing to happen to beautiful little Rosie. I hope the perpetrators are caught and severely punished. I am so very sorry, and my thoughts are with Rosie's family at this awfully sad time. Much too young for the bridge, but run free darling Rosie, where my four springers will be waiting to play xxxx

I am so very sorry to hear this sad news, my spaniel cross Kooky was attacked two years ago by an alsation, luckily she got away lightly but it flipped her over and was on top of her and I will never forget to this day the sound of hear distraught cries, the owner of the alsation told me to F*** o** as there was nothing wrong with her. These owners need to be dealt with, I really wish people would control their dogs.
RIP Rosie Run free at Rainbow Bridge Sweetheart xxLast edited: 2013-03-14 15:46:34 by cathie

Terribly sad news. Does anyone have anymore info about what happened or who contacted Rosie's owner as I didn't think the Dog Warden for CWAC dealt with dead dogs. Really really sad.
Sharpei Mum
Just came on hoping to see that she was found. So so sad. Absolutely heartbreaking. The other dogs owner should be hung up by the balls. Such a sad waste of a beautiful puppy. Run free Rosie amongst the green meadows xx

Absolutely devastated to read Rosie has died because of her injuries. Poor poor beautiful baby girl. Run free at the bridge sweetheart my springer Bazil will be there to play with you, he will know how you felt darling because he was attacked by dogs too. This is horrific and Rosie's family must be heartbroken. Do hope the police find this viscious dangerous dog and prosecute the owner for not being able to control it.

My heart breaks for Rosie and her family. The person and dog responsible MUST be caught. Please Rosie’s family, channel your grief into identifying those responsible so they can’t make anyone else feel the way you do now. Sending you all love and healing. x

What a dear little spaniel - i am so sorry to hear of this horrible attack on her. it makes me furious that this can happen and that irresponsible owners allow these dangerous dogs to run free and unmuzzled.
Jackie
So so sorry to see this sad news my heart goes out to Rosie's owners...Rosie you have truely earnt your angel wings, fly safe now and watch over and comfort your family xxxx

I am devestated to read this sad news. I too love dogs but these dangerous dogs and their owners need to be punished if they cannot take reasonable precautions like walking with a muzzle on. The dog warden told me when my dog was attacked that they can prosecute when their is injury to dog and/or owner that requires treatment. This should be one of those times. I hope that the relevant authorities can oblige and find this dog & owner. Poor Rosie, run free little girl, you were far too young. Thinking of the owners at this sad time too :-(
The Orange Ones
I am so sorry to hear this terrible news. My heart goes out to little Rosies family. So so sad.

A similar thing happened to us last Feb, Griffin was also 10 months old then, we came accross a young lad with a Staff & a JRT in the same park as us, early in the morning, dogs all seemed to be playing fine then in an instant it just changed, next thing I know Griffin bolted out the park, Staffie in pursuit, Griffin ran around 1/2 mile home, fortunately a fairly quite road but there would have still been traffic a cut/bite mark to his back leg, snow & ice on the ground, I'd never run so fast, it sends shivers to think what could have happened, because of this I walk him where I'm less like to see other dogs & walkers, but it shouldn't have to be like this. Very good tip about the Jif lemon, thank you, I've also heard to throw a coat over fighting dogs, but it does all happen so fast. All I can think of right now is beautiful Rosie and her family :( - we will light a candle for you tonight x

We're so so sorry to read this, heart goes out Rosie's family, RIP beautiful angel Rosie, go find Dudley at the bridge & play & play & play xxx

OMG how awful why don't people control their dogs especially if they tend to be nasty with other dogs. Some people seem to have no brain. RIP Rosie you were beautiful - hope they catch the person and the dog responsible. Something to bear in mind to help if this does happen to anyone. I always carry a jiff lemon in my pocket in case of a dog attack just squirt it in the dogs eyes to distract it this gives you time to grab your dog and doesn't do any harm to the attacking dog. Now I am considering having a small bottle of paint stripper in my pocket - that's for the humans that try to steal your dog when out walking. Fortunately my area is pretty quiet but it won't be for ever. You have to be ready to beat them at their own game xxLast edited: 2013-03-05 12:30:24 by mathers22

I am so so sorry, this is so awful, just felt sick when I just read about Rosie. My heart goes out to her owners. This is a horrible story I just hope the dog that attacked her is found before he/she attacks again. I love dogs but this must have been so frightening for Rosie & her owner. The owner of this dog needs to be found & punished, I don't know the circumstances but it makes me so mad that if you know your dog is not safe it should not be running free.....

Email sent with advice and information.

I will update details once I have been in contact with Rosies owners, but understand from their facbook page that Rosie was last seen on Friday evening after she and her owner were attacked by another dog which chased Rosie up Western Avenue in Blacon towards the Old (dismantled) Railway.
