- I am so sorry to hear your news. It is so hard to hear such sad news when you have been searching and hoping for her safe return. Take a little comfort from the fact that she had a wonderful life with you and that you gave her all the love she could have wished for. Thank you for taking the time to let us know. I shall move her page to rainbow bridge.

- Vix, I'm so sorry. Nothing anyone say can make it better, but people here who never knew you OR Dilly, are truly saddened by her loss. I'm sure many people like me will keep her on their lists of dogs to follow, and hope for a miracle. x

- Dilly's owner here.
This morning, The Highways Agency called my partner to confirm that a small dog matching Dilly's description was indeed involved in an accident on the M25 on Tuesday, soon after she went missing.
They wouldn't go into details but basically told us that she was not in a state that allowed them to scan for a microchip.
I'm left in limbo as with no official confirmation, plus the mystery of her name tag (her collar would have to have broken off in the accident) it leaves me 99% convinced this is what has happened but not totally.
I also find it strange that she would make an absolute beeline for the busiest road, straight after getting loose, but given the vicinity it seems most likely that this is the case.
I think the best thing to do is to stop searching and just hope by some miracle she turns up at a vets or shelters, but this now seems a minute chance.
Thank you to everyone who helped search for her. She was a huge part of my life and I'm heartbroken without her. - 2013-03-18 15:04 vix2008

- It would be useful to know where the dog lives as it might be trying to make it's way home and might give an idea in which direction it might be travelling. Surprised that the dog walker where she escaped from doesn't seem to have put posters up. I didn't come across any this morning when I was postering.

- Have put posters up in Headley Village and given posters to local pub and village shop for them to display. Also posters in Headley Heath car parks. Handed out slips to anyone I came across whilst out walking and asked them all to spread the word. Took a poster to the Box Hill cafe where a lot of cyclists stop off. Hope she is found soon.

- Thanks Sheena .. that will be a big help..need to get them out there. Dilly was lost from dog walker's garden and they said they would do posters, but sounds like they may not have done it. Last edited: 2013-03-18 20:41:24 by Angus

- I walk up at Headley a lot and will take some posters up tomorrow and also some slips to give out to anyone I meet. I was up there today and didn't see any posters nor any sighting of dog.Last edited: 2013-03-16 18:29:40 by Sheena

- If Dilly was last seen heading for a barn, has this barn been thoroughly searched. Maybe she has got trapped inside hay bales etc? This has been known to happen. Hope she is found soon xxx

- Is there anyone who would be able to help with postering in the area please? I'm down in East Sussex or wld do it myself. Dilly was lost in an area she does not know and owner lives some way away and would be very grateful for some help. Last edited: 2013-03-16 17:28:20 by Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex

- Owner left me a message to say will add a mobile number but it has poor reception.. however I have often found that texts get thru despite this! Advised to poster everywhere and anywhere to make all aware Dilly is still missing. Have shared her page again and tweeted.

- Dilly got out out friend's garden gate and was seen running towards a barn then nothing. Have advised owner work on the immediate area again as well as postering etc. Highways cannot confirm either way re dog on motorway, but claim they scan. However, we can't be sure of this especially if there WAS an incident and they do not have it logged. Most Highways do not scan, so we need to try and get this confirmed somehow, hopefully for the better, whilst we continue to search for sweet Dilly. Poster, poster, poster!!! xx

- Hv there been any sightings of Dilly? I have shared on Facebook and tweeted. Try to poster everywhere you can .. in the area Dilly was lost and also between there and her home .. she may be making her way back to you. Here is the link to all the local animal wardens..again let all surrounding areas know as sometimes if a dog is picked up the finders will take them to their home area. http://www.animalwardens.co.uk/lost-found-dogs-search/all-dog-warden-phone-numbers Come on Dilly . show yourself please.

- Dilly went missing on the 12th same day as reported accident on M25 but Highways say they have no records of anything along that stretch. DW's are aware as this borders Mole Valley and Reigate & Banstead areas. The staff at Headley court hospital are also spreading the word to staff as their grounds are not far from there and we have had strays turn up there before - they are all looking out for Dilly. Vicky (owner) back and forth to area searching. Spreading word on Twitter & FB. I should be able to get over there this weekend to help in the search

- Okay, well done both of you! Highways agencies can be hard to get info from sometimes, so the key is not to give up until you have a definite answer. Also call local roads covered by local council too. Suggest Vicky leaves something of hers near the place Dilly got out from. Are we certain she escaped and was not taken? Just want to be sure as the more clues, the better. Sometimes dates can be wrong so double check. I have received reply from Vicky and sent back some more Surrey DWs, but I didn't know about this little dog at the time. I am not familiar with the area either but hopefully a more local co-ord will be able to help soon. We just go snowed under with the backlog when the site went down so we're all helping wherever we can. Let's find Dilly quickly. xxx

- Owner is on Twitter @VickySpicer and has received an email stating that a small black dog was killed on M25 near Junctions 8/9 on Tuesday. Can anybody confirm this as I am unable to look on Reunited page due to the server being down. Have directed her to Highways Agency. Put her DL link onto various sites in Surrey. She is distraught x
