unfortunately that is true. If THEY miss the chip they are legally entitled to rehome after 7 days. Something else we all need to inundate our MP's with. I will certainly be telling mine when I see him at our next appointment. It is disgusting that they have the right to do this. It must be changed. Dolly 6.2.05Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Just had worrying conversation with kennels who take in strays from the pound which covers Basildon area. According to them owners loose their rights after 7 days and they can rehome pretty much straight away which hardly helps us poor souls who have lost our dogs. On the matter of scanning he was scathing that it actually worked so leaving me with the impression that even if you have your dog chipped it could be rehomed without any real attempt to find the owner. I wonder if they even search this website. Makes you wonder who they are there to help. Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

It has been a while but we heard at the weekend from someone in Wickford Essex who saw a dog matching Megan's description in Wickford 3 weeks ago. She saw our poster in the vets last week so rang. The dog looked like it was living rough and when caught was taken away by a lady who said she had two Jack Russells of her own (dogs). The address she gave to our caller turned out to be incorrect, London Road Wickford. This might be a genuine mistake so we are trying to track it down to see if the dog has been reported - no news yet. Also if this incident is in someway related to the three Jack Russells handed in to the RSPCA from the Wickford area as mentioned below by Polly. A mistery I am trying to get to the bottom of. Any info or suggestions are very welcome. Thanks, Julie (Megan's Mum) X Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

I have just got registered on the site so sorry for the delay in thanking you all for the kind messages - it really helps to know there are people out there who care and are looking for Megs. After going on Cambs BBC radio just before Christmas we had a call from someone who saw a group of Jack Russells with some kids and a pick up truck and got a good look at one which came up to them which matched Megans description. This was in the Royston area, if you are interested for details please pm me. THANKS again for all your kind words Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18

Hi. I live 3 miles from Buntingford and will look out for Megan when I'm out with my dogs. Where exactly did she disappear - on a walk or from a garden? I really hope she comes back soon. Bridget. 07980567148Last edited: 2010-05-11 02:17:18
