- Louis is safe and well, no injuries at all. Just below where I was taken last night by dog. No need for flexi - is just one of those things, Louis is normally at owners side or on quick round up. We are just all glad he is home and all is well. Thank you to all that hepled you do a great service.

- Just got in from work and logged on straight away as I have been wondering how things were going for most of the day. Internet access is prohibited on works computer so couldnt check on the progress. It's brilliant news that Louis was rescued and is back home safely. Poor boy must have been cold and scared. It might be an idea to use an extending lead perhaps just for walking Clara Drive. Welcome home Louis xxxx

- I was about to ring owner when your message popped on minigirl. I kept dreaming last night about Louis being in the quarry at the back of the houses. Thank God he's been found as was so worried especially as snowing.
Fingers crossed they get him quickly and safely. xxxxxxxxxxx - 2013-03-20 10:29 Minigirl - Area Co-ordinator, West Yorkshire
- Thanks everyone.
Louis has been located but he is stuck on a ledge. Owner is nearby and awaiting Fire Service Rescue Assessment.
Sending all positive vibes that Louis stays safe.
Will update as soon as more information available

- Just checked Carr Bottom Road, Eleanor Drive and the woods between. Unfortunately no sign of Louis.
Will be out again this afternoon, will check Clara Drive and Thornhill - 2013-03-20 02:08 spikeyedjog
- Usually walk my dog in those woods t least once a day. Not always Clara Drive but usually the woods round Eleanor Drive & Thornhill Drive. Will keep a constant an eye out for Louis, although obviously I hope he'll find his way home ASAP.

- I know they don't always....hence why I trusted dog......their senses are much better than ours! Here's hoping. Neighbours have offered to poster drop. Would be brilliant if he appeared home overnight.......we can dream!

- Thanks Muppet Mum- one thing to be aware of in the search in the morning - just in case Louis has got himself caught/ stuck somewhere is that sometimes in these instances the dog doesn't bark or make a noise.
Best of luck with the search tomorrow if he doesn't appear back home over night.
thanks Gino

- I took my dog up to search with Louis blanket - He led me over to the quarry/rock face to the left, due to being on own and darkness I didn't let him venture down. We are going to go back in the morning and try again. Worth a shot and Louis isn't a dog that normally wonders far from owner.Last edited: 2013-03-19 22:27:42 by Muppet Mum

- Thanks for making contact with Louis's owners Merlintrude.
There is no further news of Louis at the moment. Have given advice on scenting and searching the area and postering.
Will make contact with Mo's owner in the morning.
Will upload photo shortly.
Louis was wearing a collar and ID tag when he went missing and is Microchipped.
If found, he must be reported to the dog warden, as is required by LAW

- There are the remains/foundations of buildings around the end of Clara Drive, Calverley which I understand to have housed Italian/European prisoners of war from WW2 - and then became a fireworks company which blew up --they are now very overgrown. There is also an area to the left where there is a path which circles around to the back of the houses but to the right is a drop into what I believe is a disused quarry. - Spoke to owner. Louis has approx 1/3 of his tail docked and is approx 4 yrs old. He went missing at the top end of Clara Drive where metal gate is around 11 am this morning.. He went through first whilst owners were getting through and after a few seconds he had gone. Owners were shouting and looking around but couldnt see him or hear him. They are worried he may have got trapped or caught and other family member has also been down towards the canal in case he has lost his way. They have been searching for 6 - 7 hours. Leeds and Bradford dog wardens have been notified as have the police. Clara Drive is more or less the definitive line for both areas. I have given details of the stray kennels they didnt have and asked for picture/s to be added. Advised owner to also notify the chip company. A friend of the owner has also gone out with her dog to search (having had the scent of one of Louis blanket). Wondered if no news soon if "Mo" and her owner might be able to offer any help as she was fantastic in locating "Zak" the labrador retriever from BD17 after a couple of days been trapped in a crevice on Baildon Moor ????
