There was a possible sighting of Winifred, clipped off, in Ashby-de-la-Zouch recently. Please keep looking for her.

Sadly this dog in Ireland is not Winnie but thank you for posting.

This might seem a long shot and I have no idea of sex of the other dog but found this today so thought it best to put a comment on Winifreds doglost.
MO Chara Animal Rescue Ireland - This dog strayed into my parent place in Ballycahill, last friday, looks like a Red & white Irish setter, very quiet and friendly, had a collar but no tag or microchip.
If anyone recognises this dog, or knows anyone missing one like him, please call me on 087 2505409 - may be a different code for Ireland from uk
I know your dog is chipped but sometimes vets cant find them or they move. paws crossed it is your Winnie xxx

Will keep my eyes and ears open as I live fairly local to where she went missing.

Carol I have just seen on FB that Winifred is still missing and is thought to be around junction 11 of M42. So any local eyes and ears please keep looking for this poor girl. Does anyone know of someone with a newly acquired dog that looks a bit like a leggy Springer Spaniel? Bless her she can't have just vanished, I hope there is some positive news very soon.

Has Winnie been found xxx

Thanks for the info yesterday. The sighting was followed up by several people, but sadly still no sign of her.
cap1503
She was seen on the Swinfen side of the A38 between Swinfen Hall and the turn off for Tamworth at around 8.15 but the person who informed me did not tell me until 2 hours after. Sorry I can't be more precise. I am keeping my fingers crossed.
Reddogwoman
Do you know which side of the A38 she was seen and approximately what time? People are out searching now, but it would help if they could narrow the search a big please?
cap1503
A colleague of mine saw what she described as a brown and white setter type dog covered in mud standing at the side of the A38 between Swinfen Hall and the Tamworth turn off. It may be Winifred. Please keep a look out for this dog if you are in the area.

Owner is chasing this up.

A dog has been listed on found today 50294 described as a Springer Spaniel sadly this poor dog has been killed on the A42 one mile from junction 11 slip road for A444 heading North and is on the central reservation. I so hope that this is not Winifred but thought that you would want to check it out as from a passing glance the breed could be confused.Last edited: 2013-03-23 10:24:23 by SuzeeBee

Any searching in the area is welcome. Also if anybody knows any of the landowners/farmers in the area could you ask them to check their barns/sheds/stables as she may be terrified and laying low. If any horse riders or anybody else that goes off the beaten track could keep their eyes peeled, that would be great!

I also only live a couple of miles away from No Mans Heath and have been looking for Winifred, if there is anything else I can do I will.
GraceJG
I am at work all day today but only live just outside No Mans Heath so if you think I can help in the search by driving round all of the local areas I'd be more than happy to. I have dogs of my own and so understand how painful all of this must be but pleased to hear Mabel is at last now safe.

Latest update from facebook :
Winifred, unfortunately is still missing. It has now been 31 hours. Eamonn has been out since 5.30am & George & Cheryl Stevenson have looked both sides of the motorway around where Mabel was hit but not a sign of her. I think they were still together when Mabel decided to cross the motorway to come home but Winifred, who isn't as brave, was frightened by the traffic noise.

Is there anyone local to help find this lovely girl, she must be terrified. Stay safe Winifred xxx

Copied from facebook -
My sweet little Winifred is still missing & now it is 28 hours! The other news is that Mabel was involved a RTA on M42 - we think she was taking a short cut home. She is in Coventry Veterinary Hospital with a shattered front left leg. She is ve y traumatized but managed to wag her tail & tried to get up when we went in to see her. They are going to stabaliize her over the weekend & then operate on the leg on Monday. they plan to put a plate in & she will be allowed home on Tuesday.

Please can anyone in the area help her distraught owners find this gorgeous girl before she too is involved in an accident. Stay safe dear Winifred and I hope that Mabel will soon be on the mend xx
Patspaddy
Will keep my eyes open as not too far away
