I hope this gorgeous boy finds his forever home soon x

kayleighxavia - I would try ringing or emailing dog warden if you're interested in rehoming Sam as they probably don't have time to check on here regularly.

All I know is that he's been passed to a local sanctuary so they will be seeking to rehome him in their own time, sorry.

Hi jules1971, Sam was actually picked up on 4th April so has passed his 7 days and can now (fingers crossed) be rehomed.

Generally, if we advertise a dog it usually means their owners haven't tried to find them or, more sadly, they know we have their dog but don't want it back. Thankfully most strays we collect have loving owners who report they've lost them before we've had chance to advertise!

Hopefully Sam will have a new home soon.Last edited: 2013-04-12 11:16:52 by neddcwebmaster

jules1971 dogs only have 7 days in the stray pounds and can then be legally REHOMED.

I've posted his poster on Derbyshire Facebook page.
Do all dogs found go up for rehoming so quickly?
His details only went on yesterday! I know it's lovely if
He has a chance of a forever home, but some people may not have
Access to details in a day!! All the best for him though, he looks a lovely boy x

DETAILS taken from webstie:

FOUND! Male Border Collie

We’re trying to trace the owners of this handsome Border Collie, who was found by a member of the public.

Our dog wardens picked up this lad in North Wingfeld on 4 April, and we’ve nicknamed him Sam.

Thought to be around two years old, he was wearing a fabric collar with a blue stripe – but unfortunately he has no ID tag or microchip so we’ve been unable to find his owners.

Sam is described as a very obedient and really friendly dog. If you can help us reunite him with his family please contact us as soon as possible on the number below.

If Sam’s owners don’t come forward he will be looking for a loving new home from Thursday 11 April.

If you think you could offer Sam a place in your family if he needs one please contact us on the number below.

All adoptions are subject to a successful home check, and the owners not coming forward beforehand.
