How very sad. I am so sorry, and my thoughts are with the family at this awful time, who at least now have closure and can lay him to rest. Run free at the bridge, lovely Oliver xxx

I hate having to do this but our facebook campaign to find our beloved Oliver has been successful sort of and i feel I must let everyone know to stop looking out for him :( A lovely lady has just let us know where to go to and find him. We have brought him home to bury him now as he was knocked by a car and looks to have been killed instantly bless him. I truly believe he wont have known a thing about it, his legs look they were still running. It is completely our own fault for not having the garden/door system more secure and I am genuinely terribly sorry for whoever had the misfortune to run into him. Thanks everyone for trying to find him and as William says, at least we now know he isnt being kept anywhere against his will or being mistreated in any way. We have Claire's beautiful foal arriving safely to count our blessings for and the boys both pointed out separately to me that perhaps Oliver had gone to make room for the foal? I seem to have 2 little philosophers on my hands - I personally think we had space for the foal and the dog :/ It's a sad day.

Thank you to everyone who has posted, my husband registered Oliver missing. We still havent heard anything about him. I keep looking around Brayton Barf and Skipwith Common to ask people if they have seen him. We are trying to get a colour cartridge for our printer so we can put some posters up. I just wanted to say thanks for the kind words. Carol, the lurcher with speckled feet was apparently mainly black so not Oli sadly. I live in hope, we are all moping about, its as if someone has died :(

We came on the A63 from North Duffield to Howden last night and no sightings. Lots of fields round there. Have shared and tweeted his poster so hopefully he will be found soon.

So sorry to read that Oliver is still missing. I live in Selby so will be keeping an eye out for him as we are close to a popular dog walking area which may attract him. We are out walking there 3 times a day so will pass the word around. I've printed posters too to put up in the area. Stay safe Oliver.
