So sorry to report that it was not Frankie. When I got to Forest Lodge this morning they told me that the dog had already been rehomed, but I showed them all the photos I had taken with me and they confirmed that their dog did not have the brown patch on his back.

Leo's last owner's were contacted and they rehomed him about 18 months ago. There is a definitee resemblance to Frankie, but sadly that appears to be all x

Tiga
I have been out tracking with Tiga who picked up good scent around the fields which tied in with the sightings. it wasn't easy as the rape fields were being sprayed and the wind was blowing in the wrong direction. I have given the owners some more ideas and advice and I believe Frankie is around but it will not be easy to spot him in waster high fields of rape!

Come on frankie lets get you home. Stay safe until you are caught.

Have heard back from Kent Search and Rescue and their dogs are only trained to track humans. Last edited: 2013-05-22 14:35:01 by Fran Daly
Fran Daly
Have emailed Kent Search and Rescue to see whether they have a local dog who could help pick up Frankie's scent.

Fingers xd,

Been a couple of sightings in the field quite near the kennels yesterday so still in same area.

Desperately need to get hold of someone with a trap. As it is a farmer who kindly contacted Frankie's owner with this information, I've suggested he be contacted asap as he's likely to know someone in the area who can help with this. Even better would be if someone knew of a tracker dog who could help pick up Frankie's scentLast edited: 2013-05-18 11:38:36 by Fran Daly

I was up at Queensdown kennels yesterday, spoke to the stables next door, they asked if he was still missing so told them he was, they said they had seen his pic etc on face book and will continue to look out for him ,might be an idea to pop a poster up to kennels and stables .
Fran Daly
Still no sightings of Frankie. Have spoken with Network Rail who have confirmed no dogs have been found on this stretch of track recently which is good news. They are going to make sure train drivers are aware of Frankie's details.
Fran Daly
Some wonderful pictures have been uploaded to Frankie's Facebook Page www.facebook.com/pages/Help-find-Frankie-dog/450534831695083 and details are also on Missing Dogs and Strays in Thanet www.facebook.com/groups/430251743698154/?fref=ts

He's been missing for 3 weeks now with no recent sightings :(Last edited: 2013-05-03 09:34:33 by Fran Daly

Sadly had no acknowledgement from NHW so will chase up again today. Someone must know where Frankie is. He's got such unusual markings for a Jack Russell
Fran Daly
Have sent email to Birchington NHW asking for their co-ordinators to be made aware. Feel that Frankie has probably been taken in by someone who doesn't realise that Frankie's owners are going frantic trying to find him.

I have also shared Frankie's information on our facebook page

Small article with photo of Frankie in today's Isle of Thanet Gazette. No sightings of him at all since last Sunday.

Have contacted Isle of Thanet Gazette and fingers crossed they'll publish an appeal in this Friday's paper.

Fran Daly
Frankie now has his own Facebook Page set up called Help find Frankie dog https://www.facebook.com/pages/Help-find-Frankie-dog/450534831695083 Was spotted this morning near Westgate Golf Club
Fran Daly
Further update just been posted from owner "just out been out 2 hours trying to catch definately in fields behind garlinge and westgate close to where spotted weds night"
Fran Daly
Been a week since Frankie went missing. This page has had over a thousand views so far, some of whom are local. If everyone of you from Thanet could print off a poster and put it in the back of you car it will reach a huge local audience.
Fran Daly
Emails sent to Reclamet, RSPCA Thanet which has a base nearby and East Kent Horsewatch aware. More information on action taken on Missing Dogs and Strays in Thanet FB PageLast edited: 2013-04-18 12:24:55 by Fran Daly

Some one had a sighting of Frankie!! they phone me and i went to check it out and i saw him but he ran away across the fields he ran to fast and i lost sight. He is around the fields between quex park and the reclemet it is now too dark to look and will be out first light in the morning! He is very scared.
RAYRES
Frankie is still missing and out there somewhere, i have contacted Lord Whisky's again and i have now contacted the council and dog wardens of Dover, Canterbury and Ashford.
Fran Daly
Sadly Frankie is still missing. He was last seen on Saturday in the vicinity of Quex Park at Birchington.
Fran Daly
I was so hoping Frankie would be home by now. You must be so worried. Posters really do work. Also see if you can get a poster into the Royal Mail Staff Room and also local taxi company. Last edited: 2013-04-15 13:29:59 by Fran Daly

Please phone Lord Whisky's on 01303 862622 this is where the 'found' dogs from Heren Bay often turn up. xx
xdebsx
Have u put frankie on Missing dogs and strays in Thanet ( its a face book page that one of the thanet dog wardens does go on )
Fran Daly
Have circulated. If Frankie isn't chipped there's a chance he could already be with dog warden. Just a shame the Dog Wardens in Thanet can't be persuaded to take more of an active part in Doglost which means if he has been found you won't know until tomorrow.

Yesterday afternoon at about 2pm we saw a jr running all A28 Canterbury road, not wearing a collar. We turned round drove back and found him at the end of Charlesworth dr, we tried to catch him, he came up to us but he ran off and we could not find him again. I am so sorry we could not catch him. We drove around the estate but he had run off so fast. He was in good health not injured etc just seemed frightened. I hope you find him soon x
