- Haha! I know that feeling .. very useful in helping find dogs though. The phrase 'necessary evil' comes to mind!

- Hi Clarkey, I did have a look at facebook once, my teens tried to explain it to me, but I had to take to my bed as it made my head spin! So that was that!

- CS - Yes, every cloud has a silver lining. With little Pickles going missing, and thankfully being found safe and sound, it has brought more awareness of Doglost and all they do, plus more members, which in the long run, means more pairs of ears and eyes out there when another dog goes missing. Which can only be a good thing!
- 2013-04-19 14:05 ClaireC
- Great stuff. Stay safe and close from now on Pickles xx

- Finally got myself registered - I am a friend of the owners and although I vaguely knew of Doglost before Pickles was lost I assumed it was just a site listing lost dogs, little did I know it was a full dog-finding and owner advising/counselling service. I couldn't believe how their army of volunteers leapt into action notifying all the right people and organisations that you would never have thought of yourself, putting up posters, getting the word out and searching on the ground themselves. Hugely impressive body of highly motivated people who understand and tell you how lost dogs think and act which again you would never know yourself but helps massively in focussing the search to the right area and then luring the dog in which I now know can be a whole other issue. So thanks especially to the amazing Clarkey JB and Tiga as well as all the others on the ground - it was as if it was their own dog that was missing, such incredible determination and drive. Thank you too to Tjlab and family who had a hell of a time of it themselves and were proved right in the end as to where Pickles was hiding. I'm off to make a donation now!

- From Sandy & Colin - Pickles' owners. Thank you so much everybody for all your kind help, attention, advice and comments. We can't thank you enough - we have our little boy back, he looks in perfectly good health (although he's having a vet check tonight. I walked through the woods (where he was suspected of hiding) with his sister and we shouted & shouted for him - nothing! Came out of woods, sat on a grass verge where I proceeded to make up a dish of smelly sardines. Glanced over my right shoulder & there he was strolling out of the woods as if he had been for a casual walk. What more can I say? Colin and I would really like to thank everyone for all your help, looking and kind comments. We would like to say that without everyone (you guys) that I doubt if we would have found him. We can't thank you enough. I must have the sorest feet in the country - I've never walked so far! Once again, our kindest thanks and if we can be of any help to anyone - don't hesitate to come back to us. Love you all. Sandy & Colin

- Well what can I say but OMG....what a result. Obviously its been a nightmare for us at the kennels and never want to go through it all again. Sandy and Colin I am so so happy you have the little git back, who looks so happy with life and seems to have had a great time!!Thankyou everyone for your help, can't tell you have grateful we are and to have so many friends and family to help. Gina, Jenny....you do a great job. And one more thank you goes to my best friend, Maria, my rock in all this nightmare the last 4 days. xxLast edited: 2013-04-17 17:07:54 by Tjlab

- Owner's at farm now .. is taking food, looking and calling Pickles. Pleeease Pickles .. go to your mum NOW!
- 2013-04-17 13:09 ALI
- what is the route they take from little common to bexhill
- 2013-04-17 13:06 Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
- WE HAVE OUR FIRST SIGHTING! Pickles was seen yesterday going along the road and back into the fields near where he was lost. 2 local people saw him and after seeing a poster are positive it was Pickles! So he must have made his way back along his own scent from the woods and roads he was tracked to! Owner is going there to see if he will come to her. Everything crossed that his is tired of being on the run. Clever boy .. now stay on the farmland please and go to your mum this afternoon. Ali .. thanks very much, not wasted time as this lad is still not caught. Hopefully you enjoyed the marshes while you can .. wish they weren't putting road thru there! I'm just pleased he is not on those awful roads!
- 2013-04-17 12:55 ALI
- have been over the Harley Shute Marshes today and left posters at the start and end of the footpath
- 2013-04-17 12:52 Maria Lab
- Thank you to everyone putting up posters, spreading the word and looking for Pickles, we really appreciate everything. As JB says just calls of any sightings is all we need, no one will be able to catch him other than Sandy. Thanks.
- 2013-04-17 12:04 Tiga
- Pickles is very timid and will not come to strangers, if anyone does see him please just watch where he goes while calling the owner, if he is travelling the roads then we do not want him bolting across roads as he has already had one narrow escape on the road.
- 2013-04-17 11:34 Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
- 'Bumped' .. As JB says Tiga tracked yesterday and it's the exact route his owner drives to/from Staplecross so it's likely Pickles is trying to find his way home. He can pick up the scent of their car and sister. Posters need to be put up all the way along that route
and delivery drivers, bus drivers, taxi drivers etc along the way alerted please. If anyone can help with this .. it's a long route it wld be greatly appreciated. We need to get AHEAD of him and get some sightings coming in. Pls post on here where has bn done so no-one wastes their efforts doubling up on this. Many thanks. Please take care and stay safe Pickles. Last edited: 2013-04-17 11:36:00 by Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex - 2013-04-17 10:54 sjw
- Thanks to everyone looking for our Pickles. He may be heading home to Little Common, Bexhill. Please, please keep an eye out for him. To date he has still not been sighted. We can't thank you enough for your help. Sandy
- 2013-04-17 10:33 Tiga
- Tiga tracked Pickels last night from the kennels and out onto the road and in the direction of home! Please everyone keep an eye out for Pickles in all areas between the kennels and Bexhill, he could just be trying to make his way home. Stay safe Pickles.

- 2013-04-16 17:23 Rene
- Hi,Im Mistys owner, who is also missing. Just to let you know that there is a poster up at Brede High Woods as someone that i work with walks her dogs there everyday and she commented on the poster today when she came in to work. Hope Pickles is found soon,I travel this area frequently so will keep a lookout for her. Rene

- Frankie and I drove round the lanes at Ewhurst, Bodiam etc stopping off to check woodland. We also went to Sedlescombe woods and Church in the Wood (St Leonards) and left posters there after walking. Afraid we got lost round the lanes and were unable to find our way back to Brede highwoods to check if there was a poster at the entrance so if anyone is in the area and is able to check for us that would be great. Will try the Harley Shute marshes tomorrow

- I have shared the details of Pickles on my Facebook wall to help spread the word. I hope that he soon turns up as my friends, Colin & Sandy are very distraught :(

- Thank you to everyone who is helping and to Maria and Tjlab for constant updates. Good to see all areas are getting posters, and that you managed to find a tracker dog to help. Ali .. that's great, thanks. Anywhere in woods between Staplecross and Bexhill will be useful. Anyone who is local could cover the area between Chitcombe Rd and Wheel Lane please..where there are loads of woods and footpaths. Otherwise, if everyone would continue to poster anywhere along the route from Staplecross to Bexhill, and also out towards Rye area (we don't know which direction Pickles has gone) that would be great! Please keep sharing on Fbk and tweeting! sjw .. be assured that you have a massive amount of support and help looking for Pickles and we do not give up easily! Let's hope we get a sighting very soon. Come on Pickles .. show yourself please.

- Hi Ali, Frankie please do go search if you can poster a few places for us too, I can print some more and they will be here, or if you print some I am happy to pay you for that. Need them everywhere.
Had a tracking dog here tonight, and he has been tracked to an area where my daughter thought she sighted him a couple of hours after he went missing, but when we got there he had gone, its a big maybe but its a hope, keep everything crossed. Its such a big wood he could well be hiding in it.
Thanks everyone. - 2013-04-15 20:46 Maria Lab
- Thanks Ali, much appreciated. We just don't know where to say look, but I guess anywhere in the surrounding areas is helpful. Tjlab's daughter is sitting out near some woods where he 'could' be this evening putting out some sardines, if he's not in the local area then it's anyone's guess really, hopefully he's heading home. We are hearing from lots of people who have seen posters so the more people keeping an eye out for him the more chance we have of finding him, we hope. Thank you again to everyone and please keep on keeping an eye out for him.

- although I've been at work today have been looking as I drive through the rural lanes to patients. I have just logged on and saddened to see there's no news of Pickles being found. Am off tomorrow - happy to walk Frankie anywhere you want to suggest to see if we can bring this lovely dog home to his family....please just let me know

- We are the owners of Pickles and would like to thank you all so much in trying to help us find our lovely Pickles. He lights up our life as I am sure he would yours and we can't wait to get him back in our family. Please, please keep looking and once again our sincere thanks. xx

- More posters going up everywhere, owners been and walked around today. Local paper running piece if not found by thursday. Two leads on Jrt's being taken to local council kennels today but sadly not Pickles, owners visited Viking oak. Tracking dog coming today just in case scent still here or in case he is still here! Owner rescented the crate.
Can I just say thankyou to everyone for being so helpful and nice to us. I am getting calls from lots of clients helping to search further afield.
Everyone has been amazing. Thankyou. - 2013-04-15 15:33 Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex

Jayne .. please could email alerts go out to Bexhill TN39/40, Hastings TN34 (my area) as it's possible Pickles is making his way home and Romney TN28/29(in case he's gone the other way) Also we have some good helpers there that would 'share' posts and pass the word around.Last edited: 2013-04-15 15:45:17 by Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex

- Thanks Springmad and Ali. Well done again to Tjlab..you have all done a marvellous job today. If Pickles is around but not used to a cage, he may not go in there straight away or at all. However, he should be able to smell all the familiar things and that should keep him close. You are going to have to be patient I'm afraid. Excellent work done today .. let's hope it bears fruit tomorrow and Pickles is found.
- 2013-04-14 20:55 Tjlab
- No news but word really is getting around. Three phone calls about jack russells being found but all are tan and white. One in Broad oak/Brede, one in Burwash and now one in Croyden.
I have put the crate up, covered with a sheet, by the paddock from where he excaped, his owners have just been over and in it we have put his bean bag bed, a blanket which I have put hanging out, some of his toys and his mums fleece, nighty, and dad PJ’S. He sleeps in their bed at night snuggled to her, my god I feel so bad.
Just looked all around the yards again, nothing, so now Ive stopped everyone looking in the fields and hope when its quiet he comes out of a hidey hole and eats the tripe in the crate and we see him.
Postered so many places and so many people looking in woods around and spreading the word. Postered the stables at chitcombe and also Ellenwhorne riding centre, my two girls have accosted god knows how many people and at 5.00pm went back to the woods and put posters under all cars windscreen wipers!
Windows were open with the roast dinner smell wafting.
Thanks for all your help.

- Searching has been going on since 8/8.30'ish last night when Pickles went missing until 4am, then 6am until 6pm tonight. Postering as below..thanks Maria. Suggested a bbq tonight and to put a covered cage with bedding smelling of owner/smelly food nr to where Pickles was last seen. Pickles is only likely to go to owner who is unwell and elderly..he has cancelled his holiday to help find his dog. All is being done that can be. Maybe Pickles has being picked up and he will be with dog wardens tomorrow .. fingers crossed. Come on Pickles .. where are you hiding?

You are doing everything right, and yes Hastings/Rother and Wealden dog wardens are alerted through animalwardens but all the tel numbers for Kent wardens are on their link which I left below. Helpers in the area have been alerted now. (Thank you for having Misty's poster up .. she is still being very elusive) Good luck with yr search for Pickles who's obviously living up to his name.Last edited: 2013-04-14 13:41:14 by Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex

- Of course, we have her poster up in the kennels, and always keep a look out for her. TN31 6JJ is where he went from, slipped his lead and somehow managed to get either through or over the fence which is stock fencing, it was dark so unable to see exactly how. We are out postering now, Blue X aware, police promised last night to alert us to any found dogs anywhere in East Sussex. Will do Kent Animal Wardens, though Animal Wardens number we took from Rother DC website spoke as if they were a central database? Thanks for all the info.

- Sorry to see Pickles is missing. Well done Maria Lab. Please would you add a photo. Where exactly in Staplecross did Pickles run off? The Blue Cross at Northiam is the obvious place to check and they are open for a few hours today..someone may take him in later. Also they have a lot of grounds themselves so they need to look out for him too!! It may be worth informing the police in case someone has rung/handed him in. Animalwardens cover Hastings/Rother and Wealden but you will need to tell the Kent wardens too..you will find their number on http://www.animalwardens.co.uk/lost-found-dogs-search/all-dog-warden-phone-numbers If Pickles has has been picked up by someone it often happens that they take them home to their area and then report it so put his info everywhere. Print posters from Pickles poster page and put up everywhere and anywhere you can. If you think he will try to make his way home that will mean postering between Northiam and Bexhill. Some dogs if picked up would go to Viking Oak kennels. Other places to inform/check are RSPCA Brighton, Barby Keel Sidley, Kit Wilson Uckfield, Raystede, Last Chance, Dogs Trust Shoreham. Give posters to postmen, milkmen, taxi drivers, bus drivers, ice cream van drivers, schools (children are good at spotting things!), post offices, doctors surgeries etc. Just get the word out to as many people as poss. I hope you find him very soon .. good luck with the search. Last edited: 2013-04-14 12:23:37 by Clarkey - Area Co-ordinator, East Sussex
