Wonderful news, Well Done All Involved in getting Ria Safe <3<3

QUOTE FROM:Canine Capture UK - advice and support for escaped dogs a

SAFE - RIA, an extremely nervous rescue doberman x, originally escaped from her home in April 2013, and successfully trapped by Ray Dedicoat in June 2013. Unfortunately Ria escaped again a couple of months later, and has been roaming an estate in Manchester ever since - she was being fed but no-one could approach her. We were contacted at the beginning of February 2018 and over the last two months Ria was moved to feed into a position suitable to dart where she would eat feeling protected by the garden boundaries with a small open gate just wide enough to dart through. Ria was sedated using a gps tranquilising dart on 17th April 2018, and scanned to confirm we had the right dog after 5 years! She will now live at a free running sanctuary.

Thanks to Mike of Animal Capture UK and Elayne Orange and family for never giving up on Ria in 5 years, their nightmare is finally over! Thanks also to Jojo and husband for collecting the meat from the butchers every day and allowing us to invade their lives for the last two months!

DogLost Jan - Area Co-ordinator, Lancashire Could you please take the mobile number off the details and the poster for Ria, only it is my daughter's mobile number and she is getting scam texts from people who have obtained her number from off this site. Here is one of the text she has had: "Regarding your lost/found pet advert. I don't know if it's of any use to you, have you checked and reported on the lost and found pet site www.CritterAlert.com". We have googled the number and it has been flagged as dangerous and it has been searched 287 times. The google search also said not to reply or go to the link, as it could be a virus or a false web site, to get your personal details. Thank you.Last edited: 2017-05-17 19:32:09 by Muscidamyst

Ray came a few weeks ago, but he didn't get back to me to tell me how it went. I have tried to call him quite a few times and send text messages, and left a voice message, but he hasn't got back to me. After, he had been she hadn't been sighted for awhile, so we thought he had caught her, but he hadn't as she has now been sighted again and we are following this lead with someone else, who is coming down today. :)

as it says lost from own garden there is good chance she will return ........ keeping fingers crossed she will
bdurrant
WOW!!!!
Muscidamyst
Okay, can I just get this straight. I never had control over this post to change it back to Lost, and after the way that some people on DogLost treated me last time I decided not to put her on this site. I did everything that DogLost usually do, put posters up around my area, posted her on FB, and we know where she is now, and have people telling me where they have seen her, so I didn't think DogLost could do much more, as through a shared thread with friends we found that she was in Wythenshawe, so she isn't actually lost, but found and just cannot be caught.Last edited: 2017-04-17 16:35:52 by Muscidamyst

If you go to this link Carol, it will show you my daughters album of Ria, since the day we first picked her up, up to a few months ago...of course we have lots more of her, but these are the ones my daughter has uploaded for now. I so hope it works so that you can see them.
Muscidamyst
Carol, I would love to show you a wonderful picture of Ria now, I am just not sure how to go about downloading one on this page, but I shall look around now and see what I can do :)
Muscidamyst
You know I just came on here to let everyone know who was so kindly supportive when Ria was missing to let you all know that she is safe and well, and is coming along well with her rehabilitation, and happy with all the other six Romanian dogs that we have, and what is the last message to have been placed on here, but the one below from Helper hippy chick. Who once again has to 'pull down' or criticize efforts made by us in trying to get Ria back with her 'it's called google search' and 'I hope you have finally made your garden secure' and 'Lots for words how long this went on'. Well, I think you need to see my phone bill, for all the people I called about traps, and my browser history, before you make such unkind remarks hippy chick. Also, as pointed out in previous comments, Ray was the only one with a trap big enough to catch Ria in the North West, even he had to go back home because the one he first brought was too small, so please hippy chick, get your facts straight before you start to make your unkind thoughts comments on here...and just for once be pleased that someone other than you was able to get Ria back.

Well done Ray' Not that you should of had to travel all that way. As stated on previous comment' lots of rescues in the North West, 'it's called google search' I hope you have finally made your garden secure' Lost for words how long this went on!!!!

As you tell from my last post it was rather late, and we were so excited about Ria being back that I didn't properly thank Ray for the work he did in getting Ria. Thank you so very much Ray, you were wonderful. The lovely couple who were feeding Ria to keep her in the area, said that your work was very professionally done and that you are defiantly an expert, in the work that you do. So thank you thank you Ray again for coming and catching our beautiful Ria. Wish I could post a picture of her on here to show how she looks in her crate this morning, she is so relaxed and was fast asleep when we came down. Thank you too, to all those who were supportive and concerned on here who have been following Ria's journey :) she is HOME YAY :)
Muscidamyst
Wish you had told us before about all the rescues in the North West who have traps that you know about Hippy Chick, only we have tried everyone, and all have come back with the same thing, no traps, none available. We even went on the internet, but the only ones we could find were for foxes and badgers, and with Ria being a Doberman of course they are all too small. Anyway, thanks to Ray who had a big trap, Ria is safely home.

I cannot believe Ria is still missing' Lots of rescues, Dog Wardens, Dogs Homes have traps in the North West and you say no one wants to help' How many people have you actually contacted??? Poor Ria...

Arrrgggghhhhh it must be soooo frustrating!!! She's so close, I'm sure she will be home soon :-) I keep checking her page, cant wait to see her reunited! x
Muscidamyst
Still no Ray with trap, have another friends from Leeds who might have one for us to use. This is so frustrating, we don't need help finding her, we need help to catch her, and no one seems to want to help, so very confused at the moment as to why that is. She has been in the area now since she left on 16th April, that is nearly seven weeks ago :(

Ahhhh I really hope you get the trap so you can get her back home where she belongs, I'll keep checking for an update x
Muscidamyst
update on Ria: No, not good news yet :( Still waiting for Ray to come with the trap, but no luck yet. I have sent a pleading e-mail to the RSPCA in Macclesfield, to get me a trap and have sent them the two pictures to show them that Ria is going close to the house of the lovely couple who keeps putting food out for her,and that she is eating out of her crate, so we just need the trap to catch her, and then we will have her back. I do hope they listen to my plea.

So nice to read of your progress. Hopefully you will have her back very soon :-)
Muscidamyst
Ria update: she has now been seen in the garden of Mary and Alan our lovely couple who have been feeding her since Thursday evening, we bought pork chops for Mary to cook and put out for Ria, we have also taken her crate round, and Mary put the chops into the crate and to her great excitement and ours, Ria went into the crate, took a chop, and then went back in to lick up the gravy, she then got some more and put that out while Ria had gone into the neighbours garden, when Mary went back in, Ria came back and ate the other chop taking her time. So we are hoping now that as she is getting use to going into the crate relaxed that when and if Ray comes she may go into the trap with no problem. We are going to keep it going over the weekend, and then call Ray on Monday to see when he can come. Oh I do hope this will work and we will get her back soon :)

We've had a lot of help from a local Animal Ambulance in another area today. Is there a similar service in the area she is missing from that could be called to assist? xx
Carol
Perhaps she has gone aground for a while but she will show have fingers crossed xx
Muscidamyst
Due to some unforeseen circumstances, Ray is not able to come tonight, and we have not seen Ria for almost a week now, so we think that she may have gone further afield. We are so upset about this, so could we ask that you look out for her in any areas around Poynton, and let us know if you have any sightings. Please do NOT try to approach her as Ray said this would only scare her away more, so just report sightings please, thank you so much for all your help.
DogLostRavenette - Area Co-ordinator - West Sussex
Fingers and paws crossed here for Tuesday. Hoping to hear that the lovely Ria is back home very soon xxx
Carol
That's positive news xxx
Muscidamyst
No sightings of Ria since Thursday :( but Ray came yesterday and looked at the lay of the land and where she has been seen over the past weeks. He spoke to the lovely couple who have been putting food out for her, whose garden she was coming into a lot, he has sorted out where he wants to put his traps and scenting and is coming back on Tuesday to set it all up. He asked that we NOT approach Ria, but just report any sightings, so hoping all wil go well on Tuesday :)
Carol
Oh I am keeping everything crossed for you ,I can't stop thinking about her, she really deserves to be home perhaps more than most given her sad past , I would love to come on here on Saturday and cry tears of joy for her to be with you , stay safe Ria won't be long now.... am sending a big hug to you sweetie xxxxxxxxxx

Yay, been in touch with Ray a few minutes ago, he was sorry he didn't make it, he had car trouble. Anyways, all back on, he is coming Saturday, so hoping all will go well and we will have Ria back soon :)
Carol
At least she is near which means she feels safe in that area , I look on hear everyday for hope that you have found her , I would get in touch with Ray again will look on here again tonight good luck xx
Muscidamyst
No sorry no news on catching Ria,we haven't heard from Ray, so not sure whether something has happened or we have the days mixed up and he meant next Monday/Tuesday. She has been seen tonight, a lady called us to say that she saw her walking around near her house that backs on to the woods, so we know she is still near home. We got ourselves so excited at the fact we might have her back this week :(
Carol

Come on Ria we want you in the blue sweetie xx

There have been sightings of Ria, and we have been out everyday combing the woods and sitting in the woods with food each evening but to no avail, and each time someone called with a signting we went to look, but no luck in catching her. So we texted Jayne on the 24th to arrange for Ray Didicotes to see if he can catch her. We are waiting to hear from Jayne or Ray, to see how they want to proceed, hoping Ray can have more luck.

DogLostJayne - Founder Doglost.
Just catching up on recent posts due to high level of missing dogs coming in...and a very high level of re united dogs.
Tensions are understandably running high...especially when its a rescue dog...without putting anyone down and just calling on 10 years experience of doing this...ie 27,000 reunited dogs...(which equates to dealing with 27,000 distraught owners) who love their dogs...But cannot eat, sleep, and without this function properly when their dog is missing...Believe me as I have been there...thats why doglost was started...
The only aim here is to get Ria to safety...Everyones common aim...you have people with experience who want to help...do let them...If I had a pound for everytime an owner said but you dont know my dog...(which is absolutely correct because we dont)...I would be rich....However we are dealing with dog behaviour when they are missing...which we do know something about...well quite a lot actually... from being there and helping and learning.... and we continue learning and are willing to listen to evry case and help where we can...Mucidamyst if you would like me to call you please text 07734 759154 with your name and I can call you back to talk through how things should be approached...please do remember we are all volunteers...and we are volunteering to help you.
Carol
Oh Hippy chick I feel so sorry for you , you are good to do this , I hope Ria is found soon take care xx

I am glad to say that Ria was seen again last night and that she hadn't retreated further into the woods, or gone near the farms, which was our biggest fear. We took one of our other Romanian dogs (we have three, four counting Ria) Blade's bed to the garden where she has been coming for food, the lovely people let us put in a leanto that they have in their garden, hoping that Ria will get Blade's sent. We are now just waiting until the Dog Warden gets back to us about a trap, otherwise if they can't get one we will get one of the internet for £165.00, which is a lot of money, but so worth it if it get Ria back. Will keep you posted
Carol
Ria come out and be caught bless you xx

reading this im shocked.
Ria will be scared there are a fair few on this group with experiance of dogs that have come from romania and such like, also with experiance of dogs that have been running for months.
Stay safe Ria babe and let the humans help you sweety. x
Muscidamyst
Thank you Carol, Ria, is the most important one here, no matter what it takes and how long it takes we will not give up on her, even if it means we have to go to the woods every day and put food out for her, we will take it one step at a time and in her time, because if we push her she might run further into the woods and over the train tracks, which is why we don't want to scare her. Or even worse to run the other way, where the farms are to be shot by a farmer who might think she is after the lambs, as we have been told that is what they will do, and not even tell us.Last edited: 2013-04-19 09:00:59 by Muscidamyst

I was with the helper tonight and we spotted Ria walking along Chester Road. We contacted the owners immediately to let them know. When the owner arrived we told her the direction Ria had gone. The doglost helper had given you lots of valuable advice, which you had taken up and implemented in your attempts to find Ria, so after two hours of trying to help, support and offer advice you feel the need to criticise. I hope you manage to secure your garden and Ria returns safely back home.Last edited: 2013-04-19 00:11:14 by Ollie Bongo 01

I’ve found that it helps to print out an A4 sheet of paper cut into business-card size slips, each with brief details and your phone number on. Give them to all the local dog walkers, postmen etc. you meet. Then if someone has news when they’re out and about they don’t need to find a poster or log on to the site to contact you. This is particular useful in Ria's case as there's been sightings. I hope she's home soon - we used to have a nervous dobie girl, will keep fingers crossed.
